I was in Arizona with my father some years ago and we drove through a severe thunderstorm after dark in the desert north of Phoenix. It was UNBELIEVABLE!! The storm got really bad when we passed Sky Harbor International. In addition, we were up at the beautiful Grand Canyon when we witnessed another thunderstorm pass BENEATH US in the canyon!! Wow. ⛈⛈⚡️⚡️Thanks for the upload.
I live in Gilbert and there was that first storm (but not as much storm damage as there was in Phoenix and then it just continued to pour off and on and we got at least 3+ inches of rain
Phoenix's weather has been amazing this year...
And that's when I started weather watching great catch at the beginning
I live in Tucson and remember reading the forecast discussion just a few days ago. We had diffluence aloft and high (for us) CAPE values. We were expecting at least a few severe storms in central to north AZ
Now the structure on that storm looked alot like a supercell from what I've seen on UA-cam but there was not a tornado warning that I was aware of in the Phoenix area.
One of those last shots of a cloud lowering looked pretty intense. Was that in fact a supercell?
I remember this storm flooding my highschool!
Now That's an Arizona Monsoon Storm! That is why so many drive trucks! ~ I've saved this video to my large Arizona playlist, to the monsoon flooding section. Thanks.
Yes the monsoonal moisture definitely intensified this storm. However, the backbone o this storm was heavily influenced by the northern jet stream that was brought down due to how bad the El Nino effect was that year.
Great footage Ben!
Awesome lightning in the beginning!
Awesome, how fast was the winds?
75 mph
40-50 mph is not uncommon in severe monsoon storms.
I live in Phoenix Arizona but I haven't seen that storm
The worst weather here is still to come. As it gets cooler the more severe it will get.
Shits crazy out her so much flooding!
I remember this day... it was my baby brothers birthday and we almost had to cancel the party😂
The guy with the motor cycle - oh hey just here chilling under the bridge with my motorcycle
And imma just take one last cigaret before i die along with my motorcycle
Guess what? I was driving in it! Don't believe me? Go look!
Phoenix certainly got hit. just hope that clean up goes well
I live in tempe phoinex it was hard i thought it was tornado time
i live in mesa
Good day for fishing wish people would stop driving over my line on these days
Wow :)
Don't think that was lightning in the beginning of the video
Gorgeous Nell They were power flashes from the wind knocking over power lines
Thanks
Wow dangerous but cool $
