I recently bought a Schleese saddle. We are schooling at third level. Wow!!!! The saddle is soooo well balanced and really puts you exactly where you'd sit if you were ring bareback. My fitter (Amanda) had training for a year (not a 2 week course), interned with a master saddler and now flocks every brand of saddle. She could tell me the pros and cons of all the saddles she's worked with. My horse responded positively the very first day with his Schleese. His back comes way up instantly and all the time now, he stays into the bridle and his chomping has quieted. He has always been super light in the mouth, but now, he really goes more round! I also noticed a very strange thing: He no longer rolls when I turn him back out to pasture!!!! I never expected this. Nor do I think it should be expected, but I never thought rolling had anything to do with saddle fit, but for him it did. Most wet horses love a roll. My guy just walks out and grazes now. It's soooo odd. I love all the features Schleese has, especially the shoulder relief panels and the extra extended stirrup bars which places the stirrups further back under the rider! The ratio of thigh to lower leg for a woman is opposite that of a man, which changes where the stirrup bar should go for proper leg placement. Everyone I ride with noticed the big changes in me and my horse.
Maybe they should have a saddle blanket under the saddle, that might stop the pain a bit.. My horse always bites at a pole when i put the saddle on because she is girth shy.
@iloveCASH100 well depends maybe on the breeding maybe its just a marking that happened, if you know the owner was very resposible then its prob just a marking or a bit of rain rot from a wet blanet :) but i unno i dont really know your horse so i couldnt tell ya
thank god, im so lucky i put a saddle on my girl realised it didnt fit and sold it got the saddle fitter out and she said my saddle fitted my pony just doesnt like to be worked haha
A lot of those problems don't only occour because of a bad fitting saddle, but mostly because of poor riding methodes. Most riders blame it all on the material, bad saddle, wrong bit, bad horse etc etc start looking at yourself.
omg! :( I feel so bad now :'( all these things are Happening to my horse Sketch :'( oh I feel really bad >.< (im sorry buddy! didn't know you were hurting!) Aw I have to tell my mom to get a new saddle! Oh I wanna cry now :'( He is now being a bad bad boy :'( aw I feel so stupid he now had a bad back :'( loves it when I ride him bareback now I see why :'(
Rachel Zajac Arabian breed would normally use a semi quarter horse bars. Of course there isn’t any one saddle fit for all horses of one breed. Sounds from your comment the saddle fit could very well be your issue. Worth looking at by a Professional Saddle fitter not one of the barn witches that think they know everything. Good luck and Best wishes to you and your horse!!

It's great to share information about saddle pain - but all these horses are also expressing mouth pain!
Valuable information to follow!! Hoping to attend a clinic in New Brunswick soon!!
this was really informative, thanks!
I have to put my saddle back because my horse has a large shoulder. Were getting it proply fitted soon :)
Wish i could afford a schleese saddle
Could you do a video about bareback-riding?

My girlfriend is girth shy
Better than before, yes. But, why have the "experts" and "leaders" rejected the treeless saddles?

@iloveCASH100 once the fur turns white it'll always be white just in case you didnt know that :)
