    I think the Yamaha S max is the scooter I have been looking for. My wife and I are thinking about getting two of them. Time with my wife is the best time.

      Yes, you will have the best time. I live in Indonesia with my wife, most of the year, and we ride together there as our primary transportation. Albeit a PCX 150 and a Beat 110. The Smax is the ultimate midsize scoot in the states. With the power edge and higher top end than Honda's 2-valve 149cc, you've got just enough for short, highway hops, while still having a simple, fun blast around town. Go for it and have a blast, friend.

      Congrats. Yes, I think back country, paved roads is where she comes alive. Albeit so simple to slither through traffic in town as well. Looking forward to getting some good rides in as the new riding season is about here. Put fresh Mobil 1 in mine yesterday.

      Look for deals now, before the weather turns good. If you're near Montana, there is a 2015 with 1100 miles at our local dealer. I had it as a loner for a couple days and it road pristine. The Yamaha 155cc Blue Core engine will run forever with proper care. I did about 3200 miles this past riding season and even the belt still looks brand new.

    I had a Xmax 300...Fantastic scoot. At 73 I sold as it was getting harder to move around 400lb. Got a Zuma 125... Great also but really wanted a Smax. No where to be found. Extra 70 lbs probably fine but extra 10 mph Needed

    the 72mph is as indicated. What is the GPS speed?

      I think this video was before I GPS speed tested her, but 72 indicated is roughly 65-66. She'll crack 70 (GPS) but it's quite dependent on conditions. Headwinds suck, but tail winds and slight slopes will drive her harder. 9k RPM is about what I can get at certain times in this valley here on stretched of Highway 93. This video was more about durability for longer hauls at high RPM.
      That said, by comparison to our PCX (2019 in Indonesia,) the Yam is just a bit faster, and noticeably better off the line. Honda still uses the 2-valve 149cc. That said, the PCX is more of a Cadillac, as it's suspension is dialed in for comfort. The Yam is better suited to US roads with tighter suspension and a slight torque advantage. Rough as hell in the dirt though.

    So 104 km/h is the maximum she can get on an almost flat road?

    • @ridinmontana4k554
      @ridinmontana4k554  4 роки тому +1

      Depends on conditions, a bit. She'll crack 70mph/112km/h with no headwind. The key is momentum. Example would be coming off a down slope on the highway into a flat section. Keep her pegged because once you throttle back and then try to get back to 9K RPM, the momentum loss will be noticeable. There's very little extra juice to be found once you're in the 8.5-9.1K RPM range. That said, for a 328lb. wet 155cc, it's rather impressive. Especially for having a flat floor design compared to it's Asian counterpart Nmax 155.
      I'd also add that I recently did a good cleaning to my variator, clutch, belt housing and air filter (long after I posted this video.) She's running better after, albeit just barely noticeable. This video was also before I added Pirelli Angel Tires.
