Just because someone has anger issues or was treated badly at home doesn't mean it's an excuse to do that to others, the proper thing to do is to get help or work on yourself on your own. Saying "it's my mouth spitting out words not heart" is dumb because you still hurt the person and quite frankly, I don't think they care if you really mean it or not - you hurt them and that's what matters to them the most atm. Sorry for going on a rant or something I was a victim of many toxic relationships and this just sounded like such a basic and common excuse for every single one of my abusers.
