We Went Camping In A Tesla! How Camp Mode Works In A Model 3:

There are a lot of questions about how camp mode works and the details of it. I hope this blog-style video answers some questions you might have!
The Tesla Model 3 can comfortably sleep two people. It feels like a twin-sized bed.
Camp mode uses about 1-2% of battery per hour. We have the Tesla Model 3 Long Range, and with overnight temperatures around 65-70°F, our car only used about 1% of battery per hour.
It important to understand how the tesla battery varies with elevation - we got home with more charge than what we left the mountain with!
Campsites are not a necessity if you plan to sleep in the car. It is nice to have a restroom and other things nearby, but camp mode will keep the cabin at your desired temperature all night and lock the doors. The battery usage overnight is minimal, and it is not necessary to plug your vehicle in overnight while using camp mode.
A mattress on the other hand - while it is not technically a necessity, it is highly recommended.
We went to Mt Charleston right outside of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Quick question when in camp mode , does the sentry mode turn off ? Because we did camp one time and just like your wife my wife wanted the sentry mode on but couldn’t turn it on in camp mode . So she stayed awake the whole night scared .

Sentry mode is disabled with camp mode as far as i know!

Sentry mode is off when there is person inside.for privacy reason

If you want to camp with sentry mode on, turn on climate control mode instead of camp mode.
