@hatranglai2863 JYP already let Gina go as a trainee before she tried out for A2K. She just released her own solo song called Freedom yesterday. IMO, it was a response to A2K. Check it out.
Gina really had a hard time showing her emotions but had everyone choking when she finally showed them. I even cried when she stated that line to JYP🥲😭
I'm in awe of GINA's incredible maturity, despite being only 13 years old. Not only is she smart, but also extremely strong! I know it's rare to come across someone of her caliber in these aspects, even among adults, seriously.
I already knew they wouldn’t select chris. Somethings have been obvious since the beginning. I just was shocked about Gina but when jyp said “ I’m not sure about gina anymore” in semi finals, i thought okay gina wouldn’t be.
I agree but as we started to get to the end I really didn’t see Gina stand as out as she did in the beginning. I think Gina shines at first glance but the other girls have more powerful lights inside of them.

13:22 exactly!!! in this stage i really liked kendall’s tone and voice! she may not always be super stable but her voice colour is so nice! she has improved immensely and she’ll improve even more, that’s why she placed last, in comparison to gina and cristina, kendall is much more expressive in her performances, one thing that has been crucial for jyp since the start (and it’s also a talent that kendall has shown since the auditions!) (although i think jyp could’ve debuted all the girls easily) also for kendall : y’all have to consider that she has received, together with lexus, the most votes from TRAINERS, professionals who knows who tried and improved so much, and i think people always ignore the effort kendall puts in her performances just because they think jyp favours her

It's not coincidence that after the A2K experince ended, most of them seem to work on Solo Songs, Gina, especially being more likely a "runner up" than a lost star releasing her own MV couple horus after airing time, like she defintiley has a buisness woman mind, she is aware that now where she did this, she has supporters and Friends from all the worlds end and can start again as "HERSELF". Like, being Solo has negative and plus sides as well. Also somewhere in the doobey doo I read Misha even was recording her Song "LOVE" too already. And don't even get me started on Yuna, as Pierre said, she is to good to not get another opporutnitiy somehow if she still wants too or she tries to go western mainstream Solo too or makes her own Group. And not matter if they'd like to admit to it or not I am sure A2K added to their curricullum of "Look at THESE experinces I've ALREADY got despite my relativley young age!"
If you go back to rewatch from the beginning they have always told Gina to work on the facial expression because it’s not natural or she’s not expressing enough. I believe due to her young age she doesn’t understand it and doesn’t know how to fix it even though she thinks she’s trying. Watching that last episode he even told her again. There was NO improvement to their liking or group expectations. She’s just not fit for K-pop but doesn’t mean she’s not fit for westerns. She’ll do well in other groups not looking for those qualities. Everyone should know by now he’s looking for someone that is showing improvement
A lot to say, but first of all, Lexus is officially the leader of the group. There is a long interview article by Teen Vogue today, and it was clearly written "Leader Lexus" when introducing the members :)
I had a feeling it would be Lexus throughout team performances Lexus always took charge. I feel she is like the Dad of the group and Camila is the Mom. They really work well together!
Pierre stands out amongst content creators because he takes the time to read the comments and replies to them. I’ve watched other UA-camrs (with small channels numbering 200 or fewer) and they never reply to their viewers. So this is a testament to how much attention to detail Pierre pays to his channel. Lastly he is very positive and upbeat. While most people like to trash others on UA-cam, he looks for the good things to say. We need more content creators like Pierre. There are too many people who avoid interacting with their viewers ie too shy or stuck-up or high and mighty.
Kendall will be one of the stars of this group. She's so pretty and so sweet and so talented in her special way. Really, they are all different and all shine in their special ways.

She is good at what she does, and she fits the group well. People who spread hate are stupid and childish. JYP and his team had a concept and vision for this group. And groups like this need specific stereotypes to attract various viewers and fan-types. So maybe they needed someone like Kendall in there and there was no way around her. The thing about "he favored her" is that yes, maybe he did... but why would that be such a bad thing and why should we hate on Kendall for that? Her fans favor her too.... Gina's fans favor Gina.... Kaylee's fans favor Kaylee..... are they all bad because they favor who they like? People hating about that don't understand the concept of "somebody liking rock music and somebody liking pop music" ... Instead of accepting that they tend to hate and talk bad. JYP has long history of making great groups, so we should trust his experience here.
It was fun watching this show with you, Pierre and everyone in the comment section❤🥰. What has me most excited about this group is the ushering in of a new era of American girl groups! We havent had an actual, full genre of girl groups since the 90s/early 2000s in mainstream media. With the debut of Dream Academy as well, this is truly the start of a new era🎉🎉

I loved Gina from the beginning. She really has incredible potential. What stood out for me was when JYP said he was looking at the trajectory for the final three. Which one will be able to gain sponsorships, acting roles, etc… still, I think Gina fits that bill.
Gina deserved it. Very disappointed in JYP but not surprised, he's had a weird thing against her since the beginning but never critiqued some others. All 8 deserved to debut
I think Gina's issue is that she was a JYP trainee for a year. JYP seems to have higher expectations for her and expected her to be able to quickly pick up and fix the emotions issue. Not sure if it's just lip service, but he also mentions that he was not able to force select her and Cristina due his staff's evaluations.

6 has a bad connotation for girl groups. La Serrafim and (G) I-dle started with 6 members but then had bullying scandal and lost a member going to 5. I would’ve preferred 7 members with Either Gina or Cristina included.
Kendall is a cutie, also she always had the right looks to the dance moves even if those weren't all that tight. Kaylee, come on is the youngest, sassiest, adorablest youngling in the whole Gang, it's not Kpop inspired if there isn't a Makne that has fire. Savanna, butt in her Soul, I said that for some of them from Ep 1, I just don't know how else to describe it. Camila, in oridnary Training process she probably would have become known as one of those Trainees always finishing the lesson in the first 3 places. KG, is actually surprising to me, there were times I worried about her because she appears to be quiete different gerne type, but I suppose the abilltiy to bite into the chance she got there and be like "The 🦊 somehow I get these dance move downs and if I stay here till 3am OVER and OVER again!" Wasn't lost on them in the end. Lexus, truly was worried about her, for a moment I even thought JYP or the staff didn't like her that much for whatever ridicolous stuff, but I guess we should have known before you got have some elemnts of it to make a show.

No one hates Kendall. I’m the first to admit she has striking beauty, great expressions, magnetic stage presence and has so much potential. And likewise, she is probably the most similar to a Korean pop idol- that’s what she is JYPs favorite. I will cheer for vcha and wish them success. That being said JYP praised her over and over even when she did OK he said she was perfect. The other 2 judges really leveled the playing field and what a breath of fresh air they provided!

I've heard two songs of the group that came out of it but I can't tell you how many members or who .... so it will be new for me. And I like the way JYP does it, and ppl told me Nizi project was basically the same as A2K but only with japanese girls.
You did well, Pierre. You called it at each point of decision! This is and will be a good group -- if they are given good songs. They have the talent and looks and attitude. So the quality of the songs is the key to their future as K-pop idylls.
I watched this final episode like more than 5 times. I still enjoy watching them announced Lexus to ranked #1. It just made me cried everytime. Her reaction is just priceless. I truly feel happy for her.
Gina reminds me of Yuna from Nizi Project, they both trained at JYP for atleast a year (I think Yuna trained for 8 years?) But still werent able to debut bc of character :((
I was so happy when Lexus received 1st place. I wanted them all to debut but I am happy with the final results. But JYPark kept saying that he will see them again. Looking forward to see Gina, Christina in the future.
So curious why JYP has let Gina go twice as a trainee and as an A2K candidate. JYP was prepared to possibly debut them all. Gina clearly has the fundamental and skills down. What did she lack?Personality-wise, I thought she was so mature, earnest, and friendly. Also dont understand JYP's consideration of trajectory. Gina had such a high level of skills and she's only 13 yrs old. Imagine how far she will improve when she is older.
Can you elaborate more on that? When was Gina let go as a JYP trainee? I believe Gina was still a trainee during auditions. When she arrived in Korea she told us how long she was a trainee and I remember it increased by a few months from what she said during auditions.
It's weird how jyp hinted that both Gina and Christina were not chosen mostly because of the character evaluation bit. Maybe they didn't demonstrate the team spirit enough compared to the rest? Anyway, I'm just speculating here. I'm sure all of them will do well in the future. Especially Gina!
I had the same feeling you had on seeing Gina, who was usually perfectly composed or happy, completely break down for the first time at the end. For me it was likely the most touching part of the A2K journey. On the bright side, I was surprised that Gina released her solo revenge-esque music video on the same day. 🙀 (More on that later. 😆) I am glad that some of our favorites made it. It would be hard to imagine the group without the main powerhouse singers, KG & Camila. ✌️ VCHA as their name will take some time to grow on me. The look & meaning are fine with me, but it's the pronunciation that's a little awkward. I feel like people who didn't watch this episode will be butchering it, like "VIIIII-chayyy." 😅 And just like you I also love Y.O.Universe as a song in itself. It reminds me a little bit of American girl group pop songs back in the days, like the late 90s. I like the main melody, the catchy chorus. It doesn't matter if they made it or not and where they lost their spot, you've got to think of lke at least 1000s that didn't even get into the filmed programme so for them to even make it so far a) Was probably pretty tough b) They're all made out of disciplines that clearly helped them to make it to be at least given the opportunitiy to get into the Group c) Even those who in the end weren't chosen, I think we will see and hear from them again (I mean No 1 already come out couple hours after it aired) they surley learned a lot of ish bout Kpop System, what it feels like to be a Traine in such a company/academy(like I think we can watch so many shows, read so many time tables and still will never really know what's like to be there from 12noon till 3am over and over again) ...having a routine like that, maybe even learning about rules (and maybe even , especially for those who didn't suceed we will see them breaking these rules and still get far with it) this is as many stated "just a chapter of their lifes". This is the end of A2K and it's said they didn't stick to 8 but where there is an End there is also a BEGINNING of sth NEW too.

Gina will do her thing, and by the looks of it she manages doing solo really well... As for Christina, we'll see. She tasted the sweet honey of the kpop industry and it is her dream.... we will see more of her. For sure. And when it comes to VCHA - we will see loads of new material soon... they have the drive to stay and stick around.

I am upset Gina did NOT make it! You know what I think? Gina was left out because of character evaluation. That is the only reason I can think of. I am not saying Gina has bad character, but the others beat her. The character is very important imo, because they will not only sing together, but will also become "business partners". I think so too. Cristina and Gina ranked low Character evaluations. Gina ranked 2nd with votes from her teammates, so she must've not gotten much from the trainers at all.

That touches me deeply because I was raised to believe in myself and to go after my dreams and to always be true to myself. Those are important virtues for me.
I think Lexus and Kendall had luck thatt their improvment was always as the Trainers thought, like all the girls have amazing discipline and iwllingness like KG and her "I am going to crack these dance moves and if I stay here till 3am too!" But despite that it might was not enough for a Trainer that was tough while Lexus and Kendall were like maybe students where the Teachers were like "I love students like this, easy to work with, I say they should do this and that, and they're either instantly doing it like making notes or revising dance move and tones and actually improved enough or even more than I thought next day I saw them!" And that over and over again.

I was devastated Gina didn't make it though, really didn't expect that coming. When she apologized to JYP for failing, what she said to him just broke my heart. Yes I was also thinking about Gina's look at the end. How she almost "felt" that she wouldn't make it. And yes, she has great respect for JYP. She will go down her own road and find her way. But she has laid a great foundation here.
I kinda compare Kendall with Felix of straykids, she has that star quality that can attract non kpop Stan, same like Felix because of the charisma. She might not be the best in terms of vocals but she has that kind of charisma. 😊Let's see what the future hold. Anyways all the best Vcha 😊
Its just different. Of course a solo song would be different than a group song for six. I like them both. As a musician myself I tend not to say songs are better or worse because each song out there was put together by somebody and had a special meaning to them. I try to respect that and try to see behind it all.

I read an article saying originally A2K was supposed to be broadcast on cable, but JYP walked away to maintain artistic control. So it costing JYPE alot more to produce the show. They stated, with youtube ad revenues they'll be lucky if they can recoup 10% of the money spent.
I’m most happy for KG. It looked like she really wanted and she did improved like a lot. We saw that patience and it clearly showed. I mean, clearly, Gina and Christina were way skilled than Kendall. But what did i say? 😎 Kendal is the visual of the group, its kpop n they need one. However, Kendall has that star quality in her regardless of her skills so i think jyp and the team chose her. Cuz talent and skills is nothing without that star quality in showbiz. Overall, i think they made the right decision if we really think about it. I don't see it that way. We can't look into all the months, all the hours they spent there and all the aspects of the decision-making. There was a reason which we might never know.
I kind of understand the reasoning now, first, I think Gina lacked coach ability, and those of us with children in sports, dance and gymnastics, know the importance of the quality. Gina kept getting the same feedback on every assessment and was unable to make the corrections. Plus I noticed JYP and her had a breach of contract dispute this past May. I wonder how that played into the decision. Cristina who I adore, gives off a much older and mature vibe, and I think she would have been mismatched for the theme and target audience for VCha. It is unfortunate, but in the end it is a business decision.

It was a total of votes from fellow contestant and trainers. Gina must've not gotten many votes from the trainers at all given that she didn't make top 4 in the final character ranking
I think this conversation was over, there aren’t negative comments in this video, so why are you spreading negative energy, all girls deserved their spot, all worked very hard, the professionals chose, there were multiple reasons for the final line, not just a bias reason like all the haters.

If you go back to rewatch from the beginning they have always told Gina to work on the facial expression because it’s not natural or she’s not expressing enough. I believe due to her young age she doesn’t understand it and doesn’t know how to fix it even though she thinks she’s trying. Watching that last episode he even told her again. There was NO improvement to their liking or group expectations. She’s just not fit for K-pop but doesn’t mean she’s not fit for westerns. She’ll do well in other groups not looking for those qualities. Everyone should know by now he’s looking for someone that is showing improvement

I had a feeling it would be Lexus throughout team performances Lexus always took charge. I feel she is like the Dad of the group and Camila is the Mom. They really work well together!

Pierre stands out amongst content creators because he takes the time to read the comments and replies to them. I’ve watched other UA-camrs (with small channels numbering 200 or fewer) and they never reply to their viewers. So this is a testament to how much attention to detail Pierre pays to his channel. Lastly he is very positive and upbeat. While most people like to trash others on UA-cam, he looks for the good things to say. We need more content creators like Pierre. There are too many people who avoid interacting with their viewers ie too shy or stuck-up or high and mighty.

She is good at what she does, and she fits the group well. People who spread hate are stupid and childish. JYP and his team had a concept and vision for this group. And groups like this need specific stereotypes to attract various viewers and fan-types. So maybe they needed someone like Kendall in there and there was no way around her. The thing about "he favored her" is that yes, maybe he did... but why would that be such a bad thing and why should we hate on Kendall for that? Her fans favor her too.... Gina's fans favor Gina.... Kaylee's fans favor Kaylee..... are they all bad because they favor who they like? People hating about that don't understand the concept of "somebody liking rock music and somebody liking pop music" ... Instead of accepting that they tend to hate and talk bad. JYP has long history of making great groups, so we should trust his experience here.

I loved Gina from the beginning. She really has incredible potential. What stood out for me was when JYP said he was looking at the trajectory for the final three. Which one will be able to gain sponsorships, acting roles, etc… still, I think Gina fits that bill.
Gina deserved it. Very disappointed in JYP but not surprised, he's had a weird thing against her since the beginning but never critiqued some others. All 8 deserved to debut

I think Gina's issue is that she was a JYP trainee for a year. JYP seems to have higher expectations for her and expected her to be able to quickly pick up and fix the emotions issue. Not sure if it's just lip service, but he also mentions that he was not able to force select her and Cristina due his staff's evaluations.

Wasn't lost on them in the end.

So curious why JYP has let Gina go twice as a trainee and as an A2K candidate. JYP was prepared to possibly debut them all. Gina clearly has the fundamental and skills down. What did she lack?Personality-wise, I thought she was so mature, earnest, and friendly. Also dont understand JYP's consideration of trajectory. Gina had such a high level of skills and she's only 13 yrs old. Imagine how far she will improve when she is older.
Can you elaborate more on that? When was Gina let go as a JYP trainee? I believe Gina was still a trainee during auditions. When she arrived in Korea she told us how long she was a trainee and I remember it increased by a few months from what she said during auditions.
I saw the mv and genuinely felt like gina and christina's presence would unify the group. But oh well!
It's weird how jyp hinted that both Gina and Christina were not chosen mostly because of the character evaluation bit. Maybe they didn't demonstrate the team spirit enough compared to the rest? Anyway, I'm just speculating here. I'm sure all of them will do well in the future. Especially Gina!

I had the same feeling you had on seeing Gina, who was usually perfectly composed or happy, completely break down for the first time at the end. For me it was likely the most touching part of the A2K journey. On the bright side, I was surprised that Gina released her solo revenge-esque music video on the same day. 🙀 (More on that later. 😆)
I am glad that some of our favorites made it. It would be hard to imagine the group without the main powerhouse singers, KG & Camila.

VCHA as their name will take some time to grow on me. The look & meaning are fine with me, but it's the pronunciation that's a little awkward. I feel like people who didn't watch this episode will be butchering it, like "VIIIII-chayyy." 😅
And just like you I also love Y.O.Universe as a song in itself. It reminds me a little bit of American girl group pop songs back in the days, like the late 90s. I like the main melody, the catchy chorus. Another UA-camr said the song has a kind of FIFA World Cup crowd singing vibe. 👍

It doesn't matter if they made it or not and where they lost their spot, you've got to think of lke at least 1000s that didn't even get into the filmed programme so for them to even make it so far a) Was probably pretty tough b) They're all made out of disciplines that clearly helped them to make it to be at least given the opportunitiy to get into the Group c) Even those who in the end weren't chosen, I think we will see and hear from them again (I mean No 1 already come out couple hours after it aired) they surley learned a lot of ish bout Kpop System, what it feels like to be a Traine in such a company/academy(like I think we can watch so many shows, read so many time tables and still will never really know what's like to be there from 12noon till 3am over and over again) ...having a routine like that, maybe even learning about rules (and maybe even , especially for those who didn't suceed we will see them breaking these rules and still get far with it) this is as many stated "just a chapter of their lifes".
This is the end of A2K and it's said they didn't stick to 8 but where there is an End there is also a BEGINNING of sth NEW too.
My little scatterbrain gong full on philosophical... love it. Yes where there is an end there is also a new beginning. I am actually ok with how things turned out. Gina will do her thing, and by the looks of it she manages doing solo really well... As for Christina, we'll see. She tasted the sweet honey of the kpop industry and it is her dream.... we will see more of her. For sure.
And when it comes to VCHA - we will see loads of new material soon... they have the drive to stay and stick around.

I think Lexus and Kendall had luck thatt their improvment was always as the Trainers thought, like all the girls have amazing discipline and iwllingness like KG and her "I am going to crack these dance moves and if I stay here till 3am too!" But despite that it might was not enough for a Trainer that was tough while Lexus and Kendall were like maybe students where the Teachers were like "I love students like this, easy to work with, I say they should do this and that, and they're either instantly doing it like making notes or revising dance move and tones and actually improved enough or even more than I thought next day I saw them!" And that over and over again.

I'll admit now since the show is over that I was rooting for Kendall. I tend to root for the underdog, or the person who's being stepped on. Glad she made the team.

Gina has her own MV now and it’s much better (the song) then group song. Because it’s something real
Its just different. Of course a solo song would be different than a group song for six. I like them both. As a musician myself I tend not to say songs are better or worse because each song out there was put together by somebody and had a special meaning to them. I try to respect that and try to see behind it all.

I read an article saying originally A2K was supposed to be broadcast on cable, but JYP walked away to maintain artistic control. So it costing JYPE alot more to produce the show. They stated, with youtube ad revenues they'll be lucky if they can recoup 10% of the money spent.
I’m most happy for KG. It looked like she really wanted and she did improved like a lot. We saw that patience and it clearly showed.
I mean, clearly, Gina and Christina were way skilled than Kendall. But what did i say? 😎 Kendal is the visual of the group, its kpop n they need one. However, Kendall has that star quality in her regardless of her skills so i think jyp and the team chose her. Cuz talent and skills is nothing without that star quality in showbiz. I don't see it that way. We can't look into all the months, all the hours they spent there and all the aspects of the decision-making. There was a reason which we might never know.
I kind of understand the reasoning now, first, I think Gina lacked coach ability, and those of us with children in sports, dance and gymnastics, know the importance of the quality. Gina kept getting the same feedback on every assessment and was unable to make the corrections. Plus I noticed JYP and her had a breach of contract dispute this past May. I wonder how that played into the decision. Cristina who I adore, gives off a much older and mature vibe, and I think she would have been mismatched for the theme and target audience for VCha. It is unfortunate, but in the end it is a business decision.
