As a mother of 3 adult kids now, we never had any of our kids in our bedroom. They started right out in a crib & it made it so much easier. Good luck! She will be fine. God will take care of her
As a mom of 4 and a pediatric nurse, I would encourage you to put Hailey to sleep in her crib sooner than later. It is safer for a moving baby/toddler to be in a crib than a bassinet or adult bed. Plus, she will love to play a little on her own. This will be so good for her imagination and development. I love your plan on starting with naps and then moving to bedtime. You got this!
I am a retired nurse and worked with the Healthy Moms Healthy Kids program and the WIC program at our County Health Department. I also did Pediatric Home Care. It is so much more important than mom's realize to put that infant/toddler/child in a crib or bed. Even the best and greatest mom's can have things happen. It is accidental but I cannot count the number of Mom's who looked back and regretted the decision of having that infant or toddler in an adult bed. I have seen too many SIDS death and other accidents that mom's say they wish they had listened. I would also recommend that Katie put Hailey in her own crib now also when not wait. And with future children it is always best that you start them in their own beds no matter how much the temptation is to keep them with you and how hard it is. You will be glad you made that decision!
Glad to see the "I Voted" sticker on your vest in the beginning of the video!! It's so important that Christians vote and get involved in our nation's politics!
Katie, I enjoyed meeting you yesterday at Clear Springs. Haley is just adorable! Thank you, for the love you and Travis have for the Lord. His last few songs have been what I have needed as we serve the Lord. Debbie, Hendersonville, NC
Hailey is so precious!!! I know it's so hard to put them in their cribs and it's just so sad to see them grow up and get to this stage but its something good for them!! But you guys doing good and are such good parents!
Thank you, for your lovely Thursday video updates, they are always sweet and enjoyable to watch.your family reminds me of my old day's, with my loved ones❤ Much blessings
I know it's hard but it's actually good for them. It helps them be self-soothing which is very important in their development they learn to be able to not need to be in someone's company all the time and self-soothing really helps them developmentally. ❤
My tips are to lower the mattress all the way down, because she can pull herself up now. Also there shouldn't be stuffies and bumper pads in the crib. They are a smothering hazard, and she can also use them to climb on. My little guy did that-he was trying to throw his leg up over the rail within a very short time of being able to pull up, and using the bumpers to get higher. Good luck!
So a baby isn’t going to wake if they’re having a hard time breathing? It’s a natural response to panic when you’re uncomfortable. Nothing wrong with stuffed animals in the crib. People are way too worried about SIDS. Does God not protect?
Absolutely she’s old and big now for the mattress to be low. She could pull herself up and accidentally over. Don’t worry. She’s actually very safe in a secure well made crib.
I would recommend Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother Musical Crib Toy and Sound Machine. Loved this for my kids!! The consistency of turning this on gets them used to bedtime and gives baby something to look at while getting sleepy. Good luck! Hailey is adorable ❤
Bless your heart …I was the same way with my first one then when the preemie 3 lb baby came I had to just give her to God and go to sleep…you are providing a warm safe place for her to grow up💞
Hailey is so adorable, her funny faces & her laugh melts my heart. Y’all are great parents. Outside lights looks great. Love pictures of Travis & his mom & then y’all three. Precious family. God Bless in my prayers daily. Much love oops left off the one where Travis parents to picture of both grand babies. Precious.
I started my girls with naps in their crib, made it so I wasn't awake all night checking on them. After I was good with naps, I moved them for bedtime. I also didn't leave their room totally dark, I left a radio on playing soft music and a little night light. My girls can sleep anywhere and through anything now. I made sure that out of everything, they could sleep with noise. Make sure to do that or you will regret it. I literally vacuumed in their room during naps. I feel so bad for parents that are held hostage by total silence during naps and at night.
Its more Mom than baby. She'll be fine. It's ok Mom ❤. It will get easier. Im a mom of 3. Earlier is better like Travis said. Otherwise they want to stay.
My son went into his crib when he was 3 months old, and he was born 6 weeks premature. We didn't use a monitor or a camera and he was fine. Don't start any habits with her that you'll have to break.
Oh my goodness those babies are adorable . Hailey is such a happy baby and her little nose wrinkle smile is the best . She’s got a great little personality coming out .
Great vlog… love the Christmas lights . The Chuck E. Cheese adventure with her cousin was priceless . Travis, your nephew is adorable ! I bet he and Hailey will be close .❤❤ Glad y’all have a camera for her room and started with naps … it will soothe Katie’s nerves.😂 My questions for next week is: 1. How often do you all have date nights? 2. Will Travis and Evan do a song together? 3. Will y’all ever do videos with the Websters? 4. Who’s Katie’s best friend?
Hi Travis and Katie and don't forget about Baby Hailey❤. I hope you all see this message because I am a fan and lone the show Bringing Up Bates. 🎉 . God bless you 🙏. I hope you have an amazing week ❤😊🎉
I know exactly how you both are feeling as I felt the same. I would suggest to lower the crib so she can't get out (I had a climber). Also I didn't know if you had a noise machine or something like that. That noise/music, after a time, can trigger sleep; I used to play Scripture songs. I know this is a hard time, but you both are doing a great job. Blessings and hugs.
Yes, it is so much easier to do it now and not when they are toddlers. That's when it's stressful on them and the parents. Also, get a nightlight. Do a bath in the lavender baby bath, read a story, then lay her down for sleep and leave the room. It might take a few times but she will get it. Also, they make diffusers for babies with baby safe scents from young living. You may want to check on those. Just make it a calm environment and she will be asleep in no time. Yall will do great!
You can definitely get a mobile with music that helps soothe them while they're going to sleep. What I did with my son was I woke up before he did so I would put a little toy that I knew that he liked that wasn't dangerous or risky or anything and I would put it in the crib so that when he woke up he would see it and to hear him on the baby monitor playing and cooing and just enjoying himself and learning how to wake up without immediate parent interference an entertain himself was joyful and when he was ready he would say mommy up mommy up and I knew that he was ready to get up and start his day it was so sweet and it is very beneficial to them as well it is it is to your marriage and they sleep better.❤
A tip that work for me is you can talk to her when she is in her crib and check on her if she gets upset, but don’t pick her up. It worked with my girls when they were sleep training and transitioning. Good luck!
Listen!!! I think my children are the most beautiful kids on the planet, But Halley! Oh my goodness!! I have never seen a more beautiful baby!!! Oh my word!! ❤❤
Y’all got this. She is so precious and I know it will be hard on Katie but, actually it’s not safe to have her in a bassinet anymore. Hope things go good. Hugs from the southeast coast of Florida 😎🦩🌞🦩😎
Agreed! When they can roll over and pull up especially the dangers increase in bassinets! I hope they realize this is dangerous for any future babies and do this sooner than later! It's a very hard transition especially the longer you wait but it's so very dangerous not to!
One of the best things I did…and I had no idea it was a great idea until waaaay later! I took my babies bassinet off the base when they were sleeping like rock stars at 8 weeks (about 5-6 hrs) and put it in the crib for a week or so. By the next week I’d transitioned them out of the bassinet in the crib and they slept through the night shortly after. Best thing I ever did.
Wait and see in another 5-10 years. You will realize how young you really look. Kw! Enjoy every minute of it! We can’t go back and time moves way too fast. You are the perfect age right now. 🌺
My first baby went 6 weeks in bassinet. She slept so much better when we put her in her crib. Just sleep outside the door for the first night. ❤ Babies 2&3 went to thier cribs night #2 or 3 after coming home 😁😁
My kids moved to their crib in their rooms around 8mos. They slept better out of our room where extra noises disrupted their sleep. It really is harder on you than them. She'll do great w the transition!
I moved my son to his crib/own room when he was a week old and it worked out great for our family. Someone told me that if he needed me, I would know it and they were right! As a result, he was sleeping through the night at 5 weeks old and we all got a good nights sleep every night. Since this new room is foreign to Hailey, I think it’s a great idea that you are starting with naps. I think she will do better than you think. 🙏
Are you not aware of the Pediatric recommendations for reducing the risk of SIDS. A baby should never sleep alone in a room as a newborn or even a 6mth old. 9-12 mths minimum in parents room has been proven to lower the risk of SIDS besides, it's unnatural for a tiny newborn to be alone. They need your presence as much as food. It nurtures them and helps develop secure attachment. Never heard of a baby sleeping right through the night at 5 weeks? It's very very rare even with formula fed babies. They usually can't sustain body temp or eek out calories from night till morning without fuel.
We did co-sleeping until they were ready for toddler beds about age 3. They did great on their own and still do. They were held alot too. I don't look back and think I should've held them less! Do what works for you! I do think mattress could be lowered because she's standing so tall in her crib. And hopefully her legs don't get caught in the rails. We used the bumpers when they slept in their crib for naps. She's a doll!
I had both my (babies) in their own room and crib from day one. I agree you should get bumper pads and lower the crib. Yes it will be harder on you guys than your sweet little girl.
You guys are adorable…know it’s a hard transition but she will be just fine …they have these awesome video cameras now so you can watch her…just don’t hook it to Wi-Fi….plus it helps her adjust to some alone time…back in the the day I would play Disney Lullabies and a fisher price aquarium that hooked to crib and kids loved watching the little fish swim around and a nite lite, glow worm, a teddy and the little glow stars machine on the ceiling…over kill but switched stuff around so they had something different to look at. Have fun…also my daughter loved going to sleep with a cassette (she’s 28…lol) of her Dad singing alternating with Disney lullabies…❤❤❤
My kids slept in their Basinet in our room the first 2 weeks. Then off to their cribs in their own room. No darn noise machine. Just peace and quite other then house noise. Monitor on they slept Atleast 4-5 hours a stretch in their crib, in their own room. Now everyone has the kids in their room until they are 1 year old. Oh heck no
I love that Travis took naps with her. Such great bonding. 2 things, I know it was just for the vlog, but please lower her mattress, and take out the stuffed animals. My daughter pulled herself up and over and out of her crib at 9 months, and the crib was chest, armpit high. Those little stinkers can also stack up the animals, or anything else in the crib, and use them to climb out. Again, I learned by experience!
Everything looks beautiful with the lights. You guys are the cutest! I think you’re doing the best thing with putting Hailey in her crib/room now. She’ll be fine….you both will be fine! Of course, it’s totally up to you whatever you decide! The “firsts” are always hard. 😊❤
They sleep so much better in a crib. The mattress is much thicker & adds much more comfort for them! Sleep is so IMPORTANT for them as well as us & having them in their own rooms you the mom will sleep better because you won't be hearing every tiny noise they may make during sleep it's that mothers intuition! Haven't slept soundly for 20 years now my kids still can come in my room & just look at me say nothing and I will open my eyes & know they're there ! Also it's couple time as well that is important to give each other !! You both need that time alone & hubby will appreciate it maybe more than you but by making him happy you will be happy too 😉! You want them to be a mother that isn't smothering & goes with the flow through each stage & most are difficult on us mothers for sure ! But they will soar through the different stages successfully if you allow them to even begin it !!! I never wanted to be the reason my kids didn't grow & gain independence & have it be all about my desires & not theirs ! That's our job is to guide them, protect, & cheer them on as they teach the finish lines of each phase !!! And that reward at the end of that phase witnessing them slay far out ways any worries & fear you may have at the starting line !!! Each phase from day one they travel through is necessary to in order to achieve that's not too far behind. They all need each other to help keep you guiding them through the years!!
It is so totally normal to have anxiety about putting your kid in their own room. Every baby and mom is different for our daughter. I noticed she really wasn’t sleeping very well and was a lot more aware of noises in our room so we transitioned her around for five months and it actually brought me so much peace to know she was getting a better nights sleep, and so did we. The older they get the harder it gets because they’re more aware of the separation, so yeah, I definitely would recommend doing it soon. good luck and I think starting with naps is such a good idea and letting her play in there to get used to the room❤
Ooh q&a!!!!! Any ideas for more merch!!!? There is not a lot of kids stuff! That would be cool... I know that gets hard with what sizes can't get them all...
I’m a huge fan of your family’s music and now very much am encouraged by your own songs Travis! 1) Travis - what is your favourite song you/your family wrote/sang? 2) Travis and Katie - what inspired you to start a YT page and do you see this continuing long term?
I love watching you guys and your little lady is so precious and I love you guys Katie she will be fine God bless you and all your families 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
My kids always adjusted to falling asleep on their own in their crib with the projection lights on the ceiling they would lay and watch them and fall asleep no problem and if developed into the nighttime ritual that comforted them for awhile
I don't like heights my knees get wobbly. You guys are doing great as parents just make sure you pray before any decisions you make ,, little one's or big ones (no matter how little ie letting Hailey sleep in her crib). Have a great weekend ❤❤💖
Oh my goodness. Hailey is getting so big. seeing the pictures of her at Chuck E. Cheese was just so precious. It looks like she was having a blast in the bed.❤
I transitioned my son from cradle next to my bed to crib at 3 months old. I don't remember even thinking about him being scared in his own room. I didn't use a video monitor either. I've had my fair share of "but what if..." And it's a constant turning that fear over to God and trusting that he's got us.
My 6 year old grand son still goes to sleep in mom and daddy's bed. It will click one day... his dad was 7 when he decided he was a big kid . God loves you ...He really does ❤➕ ❤
When will you all have more merch and what is the website for it. Transition of any kind is always hard but she will sleep better and so will you. I takes time to adjust but it will be great. You guys are great parents and she is such a happy baby.
My son slept in his own bed in his nursery from the day he came home from the hospital. I felt it was important. A different day and age. You guys are doing great with her.
As a mother of 3 adult kids now, we never had any of our kids in our bedroom. They started right out in a crib & it made it so much easier. Good luck! She will be fine. God will take care of her
Starting out with nap time is perfect.. she will get use to it pretty quick.. don't stress Hailey will be fine.. you guys are awesome parents 😊

Totally agree, also a pediatric RN.
And make sure the bed is way down I had a baby who crawled out at a young age
Yes! 10000000%

Lay some pillows on the floor if you even think she could fall/climb out. Just for safety sake.
Glad to see the "I Voted" sticker on your vest in the beginning of the video!! It's so important that Christians vote and get involved in our nation's politics!
I’m the same way. I was a nervous mom but you will be OK. You’re doing a good job. Y’all are very good parents. Y’all have a blessed Thursday night.❤
I think it's fun to see ya'lls marriage just grow stronger and how sweet you are to each other and yet have fun together as well!
Katie, I enjoyed meeting you yesterday at Clear Springs. Haley is just adorable! Thank you, for the love you and Travis have for the Lord. His last few songs have been what I have needed as we serve the Lord. Debbie, Hendersonville, NC
Haley doesn’t know to be afraid of anything, including the dark! You have given Haley a very safe & loving environment! Yes please lower the mattress!
Hailey is so precious!!! I know it's so hard to put them in their cribs and it's just so sad to see them grow up and get to this stage but its something good for them!! But you guys doing good and are such good parents!
I love the idea of starting off with a nap. You guys got this. You’re such loving and wonderful parents. Hailey is so precious 💙💖💕
Thank you, for your lovely Thursday video updates, they are always sweet and enjoyable to watch.your family reminds me of my old day's, with my loved ones❤

What a beautiful picture of you and your mom. Looks like a great time was had by all.
I know it's hard but it's actually good for them. It helps them be self-soothing which is very important in their development they learn to be able to not need to be in someone's company all the time and self-soothing really helps them developmentally. ❤

I love the picture of you and your Mom at Chuck E Cheese! Love that you re-enacted it! One more picture for your Mom’s fridge!❤
A sound machine is great. They love it. A calming sound is best
Bless your heart …I was the same way with my first one then when the preemie 3 lb baby came I had to just give her to God and go to sleep…you are providing a warm safe place for her to grow up💞
Awe I loved Haileys expression when she saw the Christmas lights!!
Yes harder for you than her. She will be fine. She is growing up!
Why do I get so happy seeing Hailey happy?? She’s so precious 🤗
I thought it was just me… every time Hailey smiles I smile . 😂

Glad y’all have a camera for her room and started with naps … it will soothe Katie’s nerves.😂
My questions for next week is: 1.
How often do you all have date nights?

4. Who’s Katie’s best friend?
I love you guys !! Hailey is so stinking adorable ☺!!!

Yes I agree you at this point need to lower the mattress. Be patient I can work.
They don’t need you to agree with them. They know what they need to do.

Love video!!! She so Cute!!! She will be oh ok in her new bed!!! Lights look good!!! Can't wait see your inside your house!!❤❤
She is so adorable! What a happy baby! You guys are just being careful! ❤
Ooh q&a!!!!! Any ideas for more merch!!!? There is not a lot of kids stuff! That would be cool... I know that gets hard with what sizes can't get them all...
Best tip... sleep with a blanket of hers so it smells like you, then wrap her in it and viola!! ❤ it worked wonders for my 4!
It's not a sad day. Think of it as you and her getting ready for any upcoming children when your ready to expand your family.
Katie your hair is always so pretty!!! Could you maybe do a video of how you do your hairstyle?
I’m a huge fan of your family’s music and now very much am encouraged by your own songs Travis!
1) Travis - what is your favourite song you/your family wrote/sang?
2) Travis and Katie - what inspired you to start a YT page and do you see this continuing long term?
My husband would never let it happen and my son was in the room until he was 9!! Needless to say we had no other children 😂
Sleep sacks and white noise sound machine and blackout curtains work great for my grandkids!
Y'all are the best! Love y'all so much! JUST SUBSCRIBED! KEEP IT UP!
She is adorable and precious.
My son slept in his crib right from when he came home from the hospital. He did just fine. ❤
KATIE YOUR SO BEAUTIFUL HUBBY IS HANDSOME AND OH WOW HOW BEAUTIFUL IS Haylie GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY ALWAYS
My son slept in his own bed in his nursery from the day he came home from the hospital. I felt it was important. A different day and age. You guys are doing great with her.
