I get being worried for the sport and I also understand hating rich teams. As a Dodgers fan, it's no shade to anyone who feels that way. But what I will say is aside from last year and the Mickey Mouse ring in 2020, the Dodgers have been this juggernaut team that always loses in the play-offs. It's became a joke to the point that after signing Ohtani the meme was "wow they spent all this money just to get bounced in the DS." What would you do if your team was so good and yet still constantly the butt of the joke every post season? The Dodgers ownership is doing what they need to do to win. I certainly get not all teams are created equally, and they have an insane amount of money coming from their TV deal, I don't disagree with the hate that's aimed at the big market teams because I'm also a fan of smaller market teams in other sports, but the Dodgers are just doing what they need to do to stop the narrative that they are the richest losers in the league. I do just think it's funny that no one really cared when they signed Ohtani because the narrative that they lose in the play-offs was so strong people just assumed they'd lose again and waste having Ohtani on the squad. Now they won (What signing the best baseball player ever was supposed to do) and suddenly it's bad for baseball lmao.
