Victor Krulak Sr. I believe. Vietnam era Marine. Anyone else notice that or am I just a dumb grunt like the Corps said I was…? LMAO

Assistant Instructor. They are captains that mentor and grade lieutenants on field events during TBS. They are intense and often have over the top personalities.
As a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant I completely understand having light moments during training extinguishes the fragility and doubts that the struggle is insurmountable. In the fleet I always enjoyed the opportunity to share what I knew with new officers as their own seldom shared anything of value and saw the path for new lieutenants akin to a fraternity hazing just to be recognized as a peer at best but more likely as a subordinate to take duty and unpleasant tasks. I always felt bad for them since some Officer Selection Officer convinced them they were going to be leaders of men, sadly some lacked a leadership compass in their personal lives which made it utterly ridiculous to counsel enlisted Marines for the same infractions committed by junior officers. Happy to be done with the Marine Corps, currently at a large corporation with a mix of prior USMC Enlisted and Officers as direct reports. I have never been happier because of the unspoken bond amongst ourselves and how we work together seamlessly.
