In fairness, this is one of the greatest songs ever written. Carrie was filled with the Holy Spirit here. It’s not being religious. It’s knowing God is alive and He loves you.
One word, "goosebumps". She took "took us to church" with that one. What is wonderful is that behind that beauty and incredible...incredible and unmistakable voice is a tremendously generous, kind, and truly humble person. She was just talking about how lucky she has been with every door opened for her and given a chance that she always feels compelled to give back. She's such a wonderful woman. Don't cheat on her though. LOL LOVE that song.
My favorite part of this is that you can feel Carrie's belief in the words she is singing.

I couldn't agree more - when she sings the last bar, How Great Thou......Art, I just burst into tears and all the hairs just stood up on my body, I was so moved - just incredible. It was almost as if the Lord/Universe/God took over her body - it was beyond amazing. And to have your peers in the audience and witness that. She is an absolute credit to Country Music sand music in general - such a find. Thank goodness for American Idol at the timex

I happened to have been working on this and during the first time in rehearsal Carrie and Vince barely got all the way though it. I wept and it hard for me to believe you didn't. Listen to her sing "Jesus Take the Wheel" but listen to the words and DO NOT STOP TO COMMENT UNTIL IT'S OVER.

If you are interested in acapella groups you might like Home Free. They are classed as country but they sing anything. Boys to men, "End of the road", Don McLanes "American Pie", "Man of constant sorrow", "When a man loves a woman", "How great thou art". or 20 to 30 more. You also should check out Chris Stapelton. He's also classed as country but he sings anything and has a 20 year career in song writing for all the big names as well as having his cover of classics like "Tennessee Whiskey", "Whipping Post", "I was Wrong". Lots to listen to.

I was taught to sing years ago by a famous couple but some years later I had nodules grow on my chords which they thought was cancer so I had emergency surgery.
