Lakshaman is said to have cut Surpanakha’s nose here and even Ravana abducted Goddess Sita from the lands of Tapovan. From this incidence Nashik got its name. The tranquil ambience besieged by the lush greenery of the scenic spot also pulls many tourists towards itself. The beauty of the River Godavari that gushes down the location also make it a beautiful natural escape. It is the Sangam point of the rivers Godavari and Kapila. This is also the place where Khumb Mela devotees and Sages come and stay over.
