- Floated down a section of the Conasauga river in North Georgia. Started off with some topwater explosions, Also caught a bass with a lamprey on it.

That was a beautiful place. It was cool seeing some bites on the buzz bait. I use to have alot when I was a kid and I'd have almost forgotten them until you used that one on this video

Lamprey were the absolute best sturgeon bait here in the PNW. Now our species are listed as endangered, so it's illegal to even have lamprey in possession
That's crazy, that's like saying mosquitoes are endangered
We can still use Lamrey in the Fraser River. It's a fairly consistent bait. I usually catch more on roe or salmon meat and heads.
@@jeffrafuse9496 yes salmon bellies are an awesome bait! Worked with an old boy who used to smoke lamprey and sit at lunch chewing it like jerky. 🤢

Spinning rod and buzz bait? wild how people like different rods for different things. I like one I can set the hook with HARD. I use my frogging rod for my buzzbait. Or my swim jig rod
Nice little trip with Julio and the River Rat ! Several nice spots also. I am really liking on Julio's raft. I like the spaciousness, and stability factor. I'm an older guy and can't get up and down in a kayak, but that raft looks doable. What is the average weight of that raft? How difficult is it to transport and launch? Sorry about the questions, got a little excited there. Spring has sprung so now watch out for snakes. Be safe. Randy B.
I think that you have to find a way to slow down your boat. In Serbia we use a bucket, tied with a short rope behind the boat... I don't know if that work in shallow water...

AMEN! I remember last year @ this time in the spring you caught some fish with lampreys on them. Must have something to do with the lampreys reproduction.

Love the video, but a bit of advice, that last 10 or fifteen feet from the boat fish with purpose instead of reeling fast over it, I promise you will pick up a few more fish that way.
Cool video as always Jon . Here in Thailand we use buzzbaits a lot for giant snakeheads and i was curious about when is the right time or situation to use buzzbaits for bass ?
usually as it gets warm the bass will get more aggressive, but sometimes it works and sometimes not

a lot of the spots do, also some times other fish do also

it was weird, i tried it a week later in a different river and couldnt get anything to hit them, through in a yum dinger and they hit that

I haven’t ever encountered a Lamprey in Arkansas. Love the raft adventures! I have a friend who has one, but we have opposite schedules. Haven’t been able to work it out yet.

It seems you have a problem staying with a bait you don't normally use. That buzz bait was the correct bait for large bass.

The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.
My personal best spot came out of the huge pipe like things from the original bridge right behind the superette. Amazing float through there. I wish Dalton Utilities would take better care of that put and do more considering they own so much land on both side of the river in Whitfield and Murray counties. Keep them lines tight. Might run into you one day hopefully!! I live 2 bridges down from your take out spot here. Keep the videos coming. One of your under 1k subscribers!! 😎🎣

Lampreys are a major nuisance, and you need to get rid of them any chance you get.

Exciting and enjoyable video! I love fishing buzz baits. Often, when they strike a buzzer and miss it, I will follow up in that same spot with a senko or soft plastic jerbait and catch them.

Keep that buzzbait in the water on a steady retrieve all the way back to you. You'll be surprised how many fish will smack it just before you take it out of the water. Good video again man!

I get so tired of seeing you people catch and release, I they hurry up and make catch and release illegal. Hunter's can't release the animals they are dead, so what this catch and release? You spend thousands on a boat and other equipment, so why do you get such a thrill to release your fish? I get tried of watching your shows.
