Deciphering the lyrics (from my own interpretation and based on Joe's recent interviews) "Bezel Rollie warna pelangi satu malam di Temasek Royal flush that bukan lagi suspect Aku takkan answer korang dekat WhatsApp Malam di Temasek guess who got their luck back? You're all the same, mana uniform? Imma be an hour late to my funeral Imma be an hour late to my funeral Royal flush that, malam di Temasek" - Starting from the title itself, Singapore as an island is situated at the most strategic geographical position of trading routes where it was previously addressed by the old name Temasek. Based on Joe's recent interview, he reinvent the song to create a storyline. The bezel rollie is a testament to opulence in a wealthy city (or country) depending on how you view Singapore in terms of size. Fast-paced, wild, and crazy, the first line created a setting of Singapore as the Southeast Asia Vegas, Hong Kong or Macau where people chase fame, fortune, money, and power. Other than Genting, Singapore is the only other place in/near the Peninsular where the gambling lifestyle can be found, hence explains the "royal flush". As explain by Joe, hip hop culture pre-renaissance era in Malaysia (90's to around 2014 imo), used to be crucified for its way of dressing and way of communicating (bahasa pasar). Hip-Hop or Rap culture was said to be corrupting our youth and the "bukan lagi suspect" addresses that the masses do not see hiphop/rap condescendingly anymore. The third line i think is the start of Sona's own verse, where similar to Kuey Teow (Sonaone's song), he reiterates the trait of not replying to whatsapp messages. "You're all the same, mana uniform?" is part of the rapper ego, parring wannabe rappers as pretentious and repetitive. Also to say that rappers these days called themselves rapper but without actual identity or style that make them look distinct. The last three lines brings us back to the actual storyline, a man final hours in the Sin City where he is absorbing every single minute left of his breath for the material world not realizing how close he is to the eternal afterlife. Although, the writer still manages to emboldened the opulent theme of the song because the ghost he was referring to is the car, Rolls-Royce Ghost. The 3rd and 4th line simply means the writer used to live a tough life of doing menial,dirty, or illegal (probable reference to crowbars) job. Now however, he is accomplished enough to afford wearing 6 carats jewellery on his ring finger also maintaining the song opulent theme. The 5th, 6th, and 7th line is back to the rapper ego or probably writer ego, where he criticize the lifestyle of people who loves to showoff their private possessions and wealth in social media but in reality these people go as far as pretending they are rich by renting supercars just to look good. The writer prefer a more reserved and humble lifestyle. The next 2 bars caught me off guard the first time, but based on the interviews, this is actually one of my favourite bars of the whole song. The writer made an ode to Sun Tzu (one of the famous eastern philosopher in history) by malay translating one of widely shared or known quote from The Art of War “Never interfere with an enemy while he is making a mistake". It must be said that through simple Google searches the actual quote might belong to Napoleon. Though one might argue some of the work by Sun Tzu might be interpreted differently than in its original form. It should be noted that the life lesson gained from this quote should be of the utmost importance. Another ode to legendary figures in terms of Malaysian culture is noted in the 10th line of the stanza. Mat Kilau being a historical Malay warrior and martial artist. M Daud Kilau being the famous neo-classical Malay musician or artist. The 11th line is self-explanatory in its playfulness. Sense = Cents. The final line however is interesting for me. Wawasan 2020 is the famous malaysian vision or ideal proposed by the ex-Malaysian PM in the 90s that Malaysia aim to be an advanced country in 2020. By now, we know that vision has failed (in my opinion), so I interpreted that either the writer talks about visiting Malaysia, his home country that has failed to realized its vision. Or maybe the writer use the previous line 'saving pennies' as in saving money to visit Singapore (finding work or better opportunity) who has realized the vision of being an advanced country. Based on the interviews, the writer said the song was written pre-pandemic (2019-2020) which means my interpretation are solely mine and not to be viewed as the writer's. "Kalau dalam itu Ghost ada binatang Maksudnya harimau dah terlepas kandang A tiger never gonna lose its stripes Piloto Capitan Flizz never miss his flights Takeoff tapi bukan bukak baju Dulu jersi 36 diaorang kasi nombor 1 Bahasa berita bahasa baku masa depan Michio Kaku Kings always draw queens mungkin ini Seri Ratu Field Marshal akan sentiasa turun padang Always on time bukan kadang-kadang Barang rare korang jumpa jarang-jarang Stadium status panggil gua Kallang" - The first two lines here refers to the previously mentioned Rolls-Royce Ghost, with a slight tweak to its story. A tiger can be found inside the car. A tiger has always been dubbed as the Malaysian national animal. This I believe reinforce the idea that the writer (who's a Malaysian by nationality) is in a new territory (Singapore) escaping his cage (Malaysia). The writer uses the wild animal to potray himself as an 'animal' in its literal term, vicious, dangerous, always remained hungry preying on its competitors or enemies. This is however an extravagant analysis from myself on these two simple bars. The third line refers to the famous Malay saying of "A tiger will die leaving their stripes, while the human dies leaving behind its name/legacy. The fourth and fifth line refers back to the writer's ego, where he is the main character in his own story, himself as his own pilot never missing his flights. Takeoff in the sense of airplanes taking off, not removing your shirt. 6th line tells a story about the writer's hip hop journey, where he was in a famous hip-hop/rap group named Too Phat releasing an album called 360°. The bar also relates to how he climbs the Malaysian hip/hop/rap singer/rapper imaginary hierarchy from 36 to being the number one rapper in the scene. In my opinion, he's allowed to assumed the number one status because of how he carried the local scene, though i'm open for argument. The 7th bar is interesting for those who did not know, Singapore use of Malay language is standard to its original practice, where in Malaysian Malay language, we would call it bahasa baku. The standard Malay language of speaking (bahasa baku) can often be seen in Singapore Malay national news television and it is interesting for the Malay language purists in the sense that Singapore prefers the 'bahasa baku' way of utilizing the Malay language. Michio Kaku in the bar refers to the famous particle physicist/science communicator/scientist who's on the same level as Neil Tyson in terms of public influence. Michio Kaku has been described as a futurist of science and technology. In this bar, the writer described Singapore as a country having futuristic future or advanced future in terms of actual physical state/culture/way of thinking/intelligence synonym with Michio Kaku as a figure himself. The 8th line is a cheeky reference back to the gambling theme of the song (royal flush) where the Kings and Queen of the card game as the lethal poker combination, although poker experts can rebut me on this one. The writer however uses the poker reference to describes himself as the King being able to attract females of high-value/high-status (in terms of money, looks, appearance) and talked playfully on his charm (Seri Ratu) as the main reason. The next line refers to the writer famous hip-hop twin back in Too Phat, Malique where his famous artistic alter ego is known as Mr. General. The writer (Joe) plays another high-ranked military role alter ego, in this case field marshal always looking out for his lower, inferior subordinates as mentioned by 'akan sentiasa turun padang'. Also, field is the english word for padang. Another way to interpret this is Joe is always out and about in the local hip-hop scene, looking on its developments and 'terus berkarya' for its continuity. 10th line talks about the writer ego on how he is never late, strengthening his previous line on never missing flights. 11th line also talks about the writer ego regarding his value to the Hip-Hop scene. A gem is of high value because of how seldom you can find them. The final line in this stanza encapsulate the whole theme of the song, the writer immortalizing his status as an OG to the local Hip-Hop scene and industry. Similar to the Temasek story, Kallang is also the old name to the newly-renamed Singapore National Stadium. The final stanza are pretty straightforward imo, so i'll absolve my duties to other individual interested in deciphering it in the replies if they're interested. Such a great song, double entendres, similes, and metaphors combined with fantastic catchy beat catapulting the song to another level.

Despite the braggadociousness and 'ignant' hip hop themes from your bars, i cant help but feel that some of these bars are embedded with 'deeper' meaning, providing social commentary on the current state of affairs, in lines such as 'Lawat kawasan Wawasan 2020', 'Field Marshall akan sentiasa turun padang , Always on time, bukan kadang-kadang' just to give an example. Much more can be said from other bars, from other perspectives. Beautiful song with powerful lyrics. MV has cool shots but the edits/ cuts could been smoother. The lyrics is powerful but the visual doesn't give a chance to let the lyrics have its moment because it cuts too fast on and on. Seems more like an experimentation edit. Overall, another powerful music from Joe as usual.

- Starting from the title itself, Singapore as an island is situated at the most strategic geographical position of trading routes where it was previously addressed by the old name Temasek. Based on Joe's recent interview, he reinvent the song to create a storyline. The bezel rollie is a testament to opulence in a wealthy city (or country) depending on how you view Singapore in terms of size. Fast-paced, wild, and crazy, the first line created a setting of Singapore as the Southeast Asia Vegas, Hong Kong or Macau where people chase fame, fortune, money, and power. Other than Genting, Singapore is the only other place in/near the Peninsular where the gambling lifestyle can be found, hence explains the "royal flush". As explain by Joe, hip hop culture pre-renaissance era in Malaysia (90's to around 2014 imo), used to be crucified for its way of dressing and way of communicating (bahasa pasar). Hip-Hop or Rap culture was said to be corrupting our youth and the "bukan lagi suspect" addresses that the masses do not see hiphop/rap condescendingly anymore. The third line i think is the start of Sona's own verse, where similar to Kuey Teow (Sonaone's song), he reiterates the trait of not replying to whatsapp messages. "You're all the same, mana uniform?" is part of the rapper ego, parring wannabe rappers as pretentious and repetitive. Also to say that rappers these days called themselves rapper but without actual identity or style that make them look distinct. The last three lines brings us back to the actual storyline, a man final hours in the Sin City where he is absorbing every single minute left of his breath for the material world not realizing how close he is to the eternal afterlife.

- The first two lines actually were more of a playful bar, Ghost = hantu in malay. Although, the writer still manages to emboldened the opulent theme of the song because the ghost he was referring to is the car, Rolls-Royce Ghost. The 3rd and 4th line simply means the writer used to live a tough life of doing menial,dirty, or illegal (probable reference to crowbars) job. Now however, he is accomplished enough to afford wearing 6 carats jewellery on his ring finger also maintaining the song opulent theme. The 5th, 6th, and 7th line is back to the rapper ego or probably writer ego, where he criticize the lifestyle of people who loves to showoff their private possessions and wealth in social media but in reality these people go as far as pretending they are rich by renting supercars just to look good. The writer prefer a more reserved and humble lifestyle. The next 2 bars caught me off guard the first time, but based on the interviews, this is actually one of my favourite bars of the whole song. The writer made an ode to Sun Tzu (one of the famous eastern philosopher in history) by malay translating one of widely shared or known quote from The Art of War “Never interfere with an enemy while he is making a mistake". It must be said that through simple Google searches the actual quote might belong to Napoleon. Though one might argue some of the work by Sun Tzu might be interpreted differently than in its original form. It should be noted that the life lesson gained from this quote should be of the utmost importance. Another ode to legendary figures in terms of Malaysian culture is noted in the 10th line of the stanza. Mat Kilau being a historical Malay warrior and martial artist. M Daud Kilau being the famous neo-classical Malay musician or artist. The 11th line is self-explanatory in its playfulness. Sense = Cents. The final line however is interesting for me. Wawasan 2020 is the famous malaysian vision or ideal proposed by the ex-Malaysian PM in the 90s that Malaysia aim to be an advanced country in 2020. By now, we know that vision has failed (in my opinion), so I interpreted that either the writer talks about visiting Malaysia, his home country that has failed to realized its vision. Or maybe the writer use the previous line 'saving pennies' as in saving money to visit Singapore (finding work or better opportunity) who has realized the vision of being an advanced country. Based on the interviews, the writer said the song was written pre-pandemic (2019-2020) which means my interpretation are solely mine and not to be viewed as the writer's.

- The first two lines here refers to the previously mentioned Rolls-Royce Ghost, with a slight tweak to its story. A tiger can be found inside the car. A tiger has always been dubbed as the Malaysian national animal. This I believe reinforce the idea that the writer (who's a Malaysian by nationality) is in a new territory (Singapore) escaping his cage (Malaysia). The writer uses the wild animal to potray himself as an 'animal' in its literal term, vicious, dangerous, always remained hungry preying on its competitors or enemies. This is however an extravagant analysis from myself on these two simple bars. The third line refers to the famous Malay saying of "A tiger will die leaving their stripes, while the human dies leaving behind its name/legacy. The fourth and fifth line refers back to the writer's ego, where he is the main character in his own story, himself as his own pilot never missing his flights. Takeoff in the sense of airplanes taking off, not removing your shirt. 6th line tells a story about the writer's hip hop journey, where he was in a famous hip-hop/rap group named Too Phat releasing an album called 360°. The bar also relates to how he climbs the Malaysian hip/hop/rap singer/rapper imaginary hierarchy from 36 to being the number one rapper in the scene. In my opinion, he's allowed to assumed the number one status because of how he carried the local scene, though i'm open for argument. The 7th bar is interesting for those who did not know, Singapore use of Malay language is standard to its original practice, where in Malaysian Malay language, we would call it bahasa baku. The standard Malay language of speaking (bahasa baku) can often be seen in Singapore Malay national news television and it is interesting for the Malay language purists in the sense that Singapore prefers the 'bahasa baku' way of utilizing the Malay language. Michio Kaku in the bar refers to the famous particle physicist/science communicator/scientist who's on the same level as Neil Tyson in terms of public influence. Michio Kaku has been described as a futurist of science and technology. In this bar, the writer described Singapore as a country having futuristic future or advanced future in terms of actual physical state/culture/way of thinking/intelligence synonym with Michio Kaku as a figure himself. The 8th line is a cheeky reference back to the gambling theme of the song (royal flush) where the Kings and Queen of the card game as the lethal poker combination, although poker experts can rebut me on this one. The writer however uses the poker reference to describes himself as the King being able to attract females of high-value/high-status (in terms of money, looks, appearance) and talked playfully on his charm (Seri Ratu) as the main reason. The next line refers to the writer famous hip-hop twin back in Too Phat, Malique where his famous artistic alter ego is known as Mr. General. The writer (Joe) plays another high-ranked military role alter ego, in this case field marshal always looking out for his lower, inferior subordinates as mentioned by 'akan sentiasa turun padang'. Also, field is the english word for padang. Another way to interpret this is Joe is always out and about in the local hip-hop scene, looking on its developments and 'terus berkarya' for its continuity. 10th line talks about the writer ego on how he is never late, strengthening his previous line on never missing flights. 11th line also talks about the writer ego regarding his value to the Hip-Hop scene. A gem is of high value because of how seldom you can find them. The final line in this stanza encapsulate the whole theme of the song, the writer immortalizing his status as an OG to the local Hip-Hop scene and industry. Similar to the Temasek story, Kallang is also the old name to the newly-renamed Singapore National Stadium.
The final stanza are pretty straightforward imo, so i'll absolve my duties to other individual interested in deciphering it in the replies if they're interested. Such a great song, double entendres, similes, and metaphors combined with fantastic catchy beat catapulting the song to another level.

Beautiful song with powerful lyrics. MV has cool shots but the edits/ cuts could been smoother. The lyrics is powerful but the visual doesn't give a chance to let the lyrics have its moment because it cuts too fast on and on. Seems more like an experimentation edit. Overall, another powerful music from Joe as usual.
