This was one of the most iconic songs of Bollywood..it was the comeback of Mohamad Rafi who was the number one playback singer since late 50s and since Kishore Kumar had become the number one singer in Bollywood from 1970... you can have an idea why Kishore Kumar was the top singer with just the one line he had sung for Amitabh Bachan..and yes..Rishi Kapoor was a very spontaneous and dynamic actor...Amitabh Bachan had just become the king of Bollywood..
This genre of music is called Qawwalli developed and most prevalent in South Asia...it is well preserved and popularised by Bollywood...

@@TheMohammadDanish er qawwali was not popularized by Bollywood at all. Bollywood did nothing to contribute to it. It was all on Nusrat and Rahat and so many other pakistani spiritual qawwali poets. Bw simply added a beat and shoved it into their commercial films. For us, qawwali is as much alive as we are, it doesn't have to be preserved. For us, it's rich and it's culture is thriving among the Pakistanis. We've got whole events dedicated to qawwali night. It's tradition and you're saying bollywood is preserving it. The amount of ignorance...
@@fatimaqureshi4984 but we gave Nusrat Sahab and Rahat sahab a chance to go global through Bollywood songs/qawwalis...btw We have Qawwali nights here too, may be in orthodox society like Pakistan, Qawwali might be considered un-Islamic and wouldn't get proper recognition, but here it's loved by all...

the actress in this song is Neetu Singh,his wife....tand they had one of the most iconic love stories in bollywood...its like a filmy love story but both Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor were child actors and after their first film they became very good friends....and he was a playboy at that time and Neetu Singh was his wingwoman..LOL...setting him up with all other actresses and and their friendship was so strong that he used to talk to each other for every matter,they told each other secrets.he always asked her opinions from girls to movies and their pranks on each other on movie sets is still remembered....well after years of friendship one time Rishi Sir had to go away for shooting for two months and in that time he really really missed his friend so much so that he realised he wanted to be more and sent a immediately telegram declaring his feelings...fortunately Neetu Maam reciprocrated his feelings..and they started dating,....but he wasnt giving up his ways..he told her upfront that he doesnt want marraige and that they would only be dating so she shouldnt expect much...and she at first accepted that but who can stop Neetu Singh,she turned the playboy head over heels over her and he married her few years later in 1980...he was 26 and she was 21...and this year was gonna be their 40 year anniversary....they had one of the most beautiful and real realtionship in bollywood...their banter and their honesty and their base of deep friendship in their relationship was the most amazing aspect of them as a couple and right now i feel super bad for Neetu Maam because she lost not only her husband but her very best friend too
