Thanks! I am preparing a hold your breath video in the next coming weeks, looking forward to sharing it with you and hoping you can gain some info. Keeping up with fitness and doing some long runs will help as a start. 60 seconds is already really good - is this whilst being still under water or moving around?
Ocean Chan Freediving Yes sir it is... I've always practiced holding my breath for no reason at all as a kid. Lol... Just being silly and experimenting I guess. For for some reason, I can't break 60 secs. I will get back to some long distance running and drop a few pounds to see if this works. Grace and Peace bro!
Visibility has been horrible for me here in Florida for the past two months with all the storms and swells... .but It's finally calming down.... that means more underwater videos may be on the way soon..... Thanks for keeping us thinking about the water during the down times!
That's a shame, hopefully it clears up and you can do more dives! keep going out and eventually you'll hit a day with perfect visibility! looking forward to seeing what you find!
Cant wait for a video where a great white shark photobombs your selfie, hehe. I've sometimes considered mounting a gopro on the back of my head to later see whats going on behind me. Paranoid?
I've had a streak of bad luck lately with visibility at my snorkeling spot. The water has been an off brown color and its miserable. Just waiting on one or more good days so I can upload some more content.
Hopefully it clears up! Where are you at the moment? if its hot where you are, its probably algae. Keep trying and you'll eventually get a good dive day! looking forward to seeing those dives from you!
Thanks! Yeah, i'll start getting a few bits and pieces in the next few months, going to have a few different camera angles for my dives. I am using a gopro! I want a second camera to attach on my mask
I was actually looking for a submerged playground rocking horse, and I just swam around and some rock formations, and there was the swim through! it wasn't too deep here!
Great Video Chan! Thanks for your tips! I'm curious, what program are you using to screen capture yourself and show your videos? And what watch are you using? Thanks again for sharing your great tips! 👍🏻
Thankyou! Hope it was helpful! I use a gopro 4+ for all filming (with filters) and just use imovie to put it all together. I am using a Mares smart apnea watch, its a freediving computer. whilst underwater it shows the dive time, depth, timers for going back up and lots of other things. Its a vital item in freediving because it can be set to remind you when to go up, because blacking out is a common danger in the sport
I am really looking forward to watching your finale video for 2018 where you will be visiting wedding cake island. You take beautiful underwater footage by the way =)
Hopefully you can get some clear water days! Is this all seasons in Nth California? I thought Sydney had bad vis generally. On good days, especially in winter, we can get 20m though.
There are a few spots that on a great day can get 20m viz. For most dive spots, 8-10m viz is exceptional. There are near constant currents. Swells vary from small/medium in summer to heavy in winter. Churns up a lot of sediment. You might have noticed in my videos, especially in NorCal, that the water is very green.
last summer i only had 10 days sea-side vacation, i didnt buy diving gear at 1st. the water was crystal clear so i only snorkeled and did skin diving in a beautiful place with fishs i went to diving shops and bought gear, so after just 2 days, went to the same spot again. But alas, the weather was bad, the visibility was like 0.5m,i could barely see my hand when i dived 5meters deep i also hit my head on the sea floor when i did a duck dive, and was stung by jelly fishs (good thing i was wearing a wetsuit, by my hand didn't have gloves)
that's bad luck, I hope you have a better dive trip in the future. Its hard to predict what the visibility will be like, but planning ahead will give you the best chance of having good vis. Where was this place you dived at?
What's up Manny. Thanks for posting... Any tips on extending the length of time I can hold my breath? Right now I'm stuck at about 60 secs.

There's a few little technical things, that could help, but i'll discuss them when i've finished putting it together!
All the best and same to you!

Beautiful footage and very useful explanations. Good job.
Thanks! Glad you could get some info from it!

Hahaha a big shark grin behind me! I'm paranoid in murky water, its the one time I can't stop thinking of sharks
Great video my friend.
Thankyou!
Cool 😀
nice, this is very informative! And nice scenes too. I'd love to learn freediving.
Thankyou!
Oooh.. what a great tips!! Happy diving!! Nice video bro!! 🤗
Thanks! hopefully it helps!

nice, I must try this sometime
Thanks! If you do find a swim through at a dive site, be cautious and have a dive buddy nearby! stay safe and enjoy, it is a lot of fun though!
Beautiful Place
It is! Come visit Sydney one day!
I reckon you should get an arm for your gopro(or what camera you use) that way you can angle it so its not in the way 👍🏼👍🏼 keep up the good work

the current looked really strong in the second dive!
I like the new style of filming haha
Thanks, always trying new things! Yeah it was a huge undercurrent. Really pushed me across. It was hard getting through to the swim through!
that's so dangerous! How did you even find it?
I was actually looking for a submerged playground rocking horse, and I just swam around and some rock formations, and there was the swim through! it wasn't too deep here!
wow so cool! hope you find the horse next time :)
Hopefully I will!

that cave is so small lucky you go thru it!
Hahah yeah, it was okay in the end!
I saw a shark like object behind you after you picked up the beer bottle. Not sure!!
I will have to check again! Thanks!
Thanks for the tips! really helpful :)
Thanks and no worries! Hopefully it can help you the next time you go out on a dive trip!

Thanks Sameer! It'll be a year in the making - have to have perfectly calm conditions to get there!
great video
Thanks!
4-5m viz? That’s a good day on the northern California coast! I’ve been out some days I can’t see my fins...
Hopefully you can get some clear water days! Is this all seasons in Nth California?
