We will be in Amsterdam the first week of June staying in De Pijp in an authentic 4th floor walkup with the narrow steps thanks to Airbnb. Thank you so much for this delightful video with authentic city experiences. We will definitely use your suggestions to design a touring experience unlike most others suggested on other typical site seeing websites. A few days later in the second week we will be motoring our rented Locaboat through Amersterdam and will definitely take advantage of a canal exploration while piloting our boat. More videos in English would be most appreciated when we return to Amsterdam for a more in depth experience of your delightful city. You are just a joy to watch and listen to for great tips on how to have an authentic Amsterdam experience.
I would love to see more videos about Amsterdam from you! They could be about hidden gems, your personal favorite spots, foods to try, coffee shops, public parks, free things, etc.
I am traveling to Amsterdam in June and in my research I found that the city has a lot of regular events to offer on certain days (i.e. Noodermarkt Monday markets, Van Gogh museum Friday evening live art shows, Free classical music performance in Gebouw concert hall on Wednesdays). This information would be really great for planning a trip and mingling with locals :-) Could you make a video on this?
Dear Priscille, on my website we create a weekly guide with the best events in town. It goes live every Fridaday on www.yourlittleblackbook.me and if you go to Amsterdam you can now also download my new Amsterdam City Guide app with over 700 hotspots and non-touristy addresses for iOS (bit.ly/iosNB) & Android (bit.ly/androidNB). Thank you for this video. I will be visiting this October and of all the videos i've seen, this has been the most informative, at least for what we are looking for.
Thanks so much for this. I just moved to Amsterdam from the US last week and its good to know where some of the locals go. If you have any tips on the best festivals to go to in the summer that would be great!
+Myeesha Murray You're welcome, Make sure to check our website www.yourlittleblackbook.me for all things in Amsterdam. And make sure to order tickets for DGTL festival the opening of the season ;-).
Wat een leuke video! Wat een werk moet dit zijn geweest zeg! Even off topic: ik vroeg me echt de hele video lang af waar je leuke gekleurde armbandjes met die kwastjes van zijn!
Anne, this is really helpful and great insight. Would look forward seeing more videos in English. Its a pity i can't follow most of your videos cause of language. :( They look pretty cool. Thanks once again.
great job!! Could you let us know more about the places which are not packet with tourists where is more locals? Also, do you know about any great room rental agency?
Hy, now we are back from our 5 days Amsterdam trip. We followed your tips and had a really good time in Amsterdam. It´s really a great city. I liked walking around in Jordaan district. The little bars there are very nice. Volendam was also a nice trip from Amsterdam.
Thank you for sharing this invaluable local knowledge , I am back in the Dam again in March for what is probably my 6th or 7th visit and I will def be checking out some of these places. also if you could recommend any decent rock bars frequented by locals that would be great? I always seem to end up in Excalibur and although a great bar I find the atmoshere a little strained because of the location and hoards of drunken tourist hen/ stag partiesthanks again G
Your Little Black Book Thanks for that you are very kind , I have also found 'the Cave ' on Prinsengracht and the Watering Hole just around the corner both are well reviewed so worth a look at least :-) Staying on the botel so the Art City has to be on my list too
Thanks for all informations, i loved to know it, I am from Brazil and I want to visite Amsterdam This year. Besides summer What do You suggest me its great month to visite the city? If You can replay I really appreciate ! Thank You 😘😊
Spring or fall can also be really nice! But since Amsterdam is even more fun when the temperatures are around 20-22 degrees I would aim for that. So many nice patios to have a drink and of course sailing on the canals! You can check my bog www.yourlittleblackbook.me for more tips like this! x
+Your Little Black Book (Anne) Thank You só much for replay me. Really summer 20/22 degrees??? How about the fall, October How is the weather in that month? Is October Too cold ? I will algo look all your videos to get more informed By Amsterdam !!!! Thank You só much ❤️
+Your Little Black Book (Anne) Hi Anne, You are an angel, Thank You so much, This really help me a lot. Now for sure I can decide an I thing to go in August. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 😘😘😘😘😘
You are absolutely stunning! thank you for all the advice and tips, Im happy to visit a few places that you have mentioned. Cheeeeese tasting here i come !
For your cheese? Go to Albert Heijn supermarket. The stuff they sell is the same as the stuff they sell in the city. The old rule buy where the locals buy their stuff is true. Beer also go to AH they sell spirits too. Jordaan the district? All the locals including me left the area years ago. The strong accent and jargon has all but disappeared. Red Light District? Don't be a "Drooggeiler" a rude local idiom for a Peeping Tom. The girls try to make a living. I agree with the Albert Cuyp Market. Food Hallen use Tram Lijn 7 (Route) Exit Kinkerstraat near Ten Katestraat. If you're in luck they have a market too there. Walk through Ten Katestraat turn right and ask a local for the Food Hallen it is very near there.
There are of course a lot of people that are interested in these kind of things. But in this video I give my honest personal opinion. I've been there once and I like it better to go to a museum of modern art :-0
