Very insightful discussion, as a teacher I want to appreciate you Mr. Sserwanja. Dr. Muganga is such a knowledgeable man, and indeed the way to go is embrace Tech in all its aspect instead of running away from it. Teachers Bill is welcome, we are willing to comply but remuneration and welfare are vital points to consider in order to balance it all. Thank you again.
Thank you, Princes Imeldah! ❤️ Your support means everything! Big thanks to my incredible team too - they're the unsung heroes making every video happen! 💪🏽🙏
Very valid points from Dr Muganga, thanks Solomon. My worry/question, how are we prepared as a country for AI, is our national budget prioritizing this ?
I support the ideas .It's a shame there are many teachers out there who can't write an application letter ,ejo speak broken English, lack morals etc . Let's have all teachers acquire a bachelor's degree to improve on the quality of education in Uganda which has drastically fallen
Solomon. Thank you so much for the show. But in my view . Implementation of this bill should be limited to some levels in education I mean why should a pre-primary and primary school teacher be liscenced or possess a Bachelor’s degree in Education It calls for a lot of tolerance and discipline to deal with Kindergarten and primary pupils or actually teach and nurture them into secondary school students and this by the way my not be dictated by holding a Bachelor’s degree That’s how you find some primary school teacher beating up kids coz they aren’t as passionate about holding up with pupils as the other certificate grade teachers who do their jobs with passion and not qualifications Just know many people shall lose their jobs on this immature bill Hopefully you get my point
I find your argument so on personal Traits of teachers not on the professional side,we can agree.. alot will loose jobs but each advancement in system will cause it,but as Dr.Mugaga said, gov't should plan on how they will be advanced like scholarships,etc..let's hope & see how they will solve that challenge
speaking about teachers not being interested in going to remote areas, initiatives such as Building Tomorrow registers young campus students in their third year at University to serve in remote areas
They are requiring degrees for teachers but does that come with a minimum wage? Ugandan teachers were disciplined during my school days, what happened in the last thirty years?
The bill provides a transitional period of 10 years to enable teachers who can upgrade to comply with provisions of the new Act. This is already provided for both under the Teacher Policy and the bill
And my question is, why do we still PTC operational? Why are universities still training diploma students? This is as good as the new caliculum but I was disaapointed when i got to know that universities are still training new taeecher the old caliculaum

All teachers from primary upwards, must have same level education, it shouldn't matter the age of the learner.

Thanks for the comment, Shibah.

The bill is OK but they should give teachers 10 years to prepare themselves to Obtain the necessary documents.

The ai is good but The education university projection shouldn’t be unrealistic. The TTCs weren’t bad … look at the upe schools
