The Bengals offense, or should I say the Rams offense.. cuz Taylor is an apple off of Sean McVay's coaching tree... Is really good. That's why the Super Bowl was so close last year, student vs master... But you can go back even further and say Mike Shanahan was the granddaddy of all these guys including his son Kyle. And Kyle Shanahan in the NFC... Nick Sirianni actually comes from the Josh McDaniels, Frank Reich tree which is quality as well.
The mistake you made is assuming its exaclty a 1-to-1 to McVay's offense. McVay runs much of his stuff out of 11 personnel. Which he operates his pass schemes on but his run schemes as well in part because of the personnel he has (Cooper Kupp being a helluva run blocker). Taylor is running a myriad of stuff but ultimately more shotgun as that is what Burrow is more comfortable with. Which is why you see RPO designed runs which have been hit or miss in the regular season. Also Taylor's (still) main issue with his schemes is that there are specific schemes where they do passes better (shotgun) than when they do runs better (under center) even tho there are RPO runs sprinkled in. Its just that Burrow just knows how to execute when he gets the read on the defense after the snap and he's got the playmakers to punish them on the outside.
As a Chargers fan, I was mad at Burrow for all the success. We're both starving franchises with stud QB's... but this past weekend made me realize how good he is. I wish our organization was half as competent as the Bengals.
@@TheQBSchool You dont even know who the Bengals acting owners are lmao you still think 87 yr old Mike Brown runs the show hahaha. So jealous lol its ok, I would be also if i were u!
There was so much hype around Buffalo early in the season and the Bengals got off to such a poor start. My how the worm has turned. But honestly, I expected nothing less from Joe Burrow after watching his form in the second half of last season. He has such a nice touch on the ball. He gives his receivers every chance to catch it.
Yep, but remember, he missed all training camp & all of preseason cuz he was hospitalized for 6 days after having that emergency appendectomy. Literally, the 1st time he ever took a snap with his all new offensive linesmen, was game #1 regular season vs Pittsburg lol. VERY 1ST SNAP!! So, its actually amazing he only lost the 1st 2 games, holy crap lol
Football isn't a static sport and a lot can change from September to January. That said the Ravens gave the Bills a bit of a blueprint on what to look out for to defend against Burrow. Instead they let Burrow beat them the way he wanted to. Which was take the looks he wanted and get the ball to match ups outside. Considering he had backups for his O-line he was given zero hesitation being given no pressures by the seemingly nonexistent Bills D-line.
Hey JT, big fan here. Would love your thoughts on these upcoming head coach or offensive coordinator positions. Are any of them attractive to you? 8 or 9 of this wk's playoff teams had offensive minds or former QB background. Thanks so much!!
"In the elements." Heh. When WE played "in the elements," the one and only football we had got SOGGY. We could barely throw it 10 yards by the end of recess. In organized ball, they bring out a fresh, dry football.
Fans complained all the time about how "Zac is a terrible playcaller" etc. Then you look at that dart play with the motions and swing screen pulling both LBs out of the box to set up the massacre by Adeniji in the hole, and Mixon goes practically 15yds untouched.
People say a lot, until the Bengals notch another win. And to think, after the '21 season, people wanted him fired. Patience!!!! We've been bad for much of the past 2.5 decades. This isn't an LA Ram's instant hot pocket "get a super team of FA". The Bengals are a crockpot of beef stew. The longer it simmers, the better it gets. People said last year was a fluke and a 1-and-done. Uh uh....
It’s why he’s so good. He doesn’t have the biggest arm or the running ability like Mahomes or Allen, but he plays the position to a mastery level. And he’s been like that since his rookie year. Once in a lifetime player .
Burrow throws his guys open and is very very very accurate. Never gets rattled. Knows where to go and always knows what is happening in the game. Mamba mentality. This is why I think he is #1 in the NFL now. No more Tua debates, Herbert debates, Top 5 debates, top 3 debates, Mahomes debates.
Just a little comment on the go throw to Chase, I'm sure JT knows this already just didn't add it in for whatever reason but in my opinion I think he threw it more flat there instead of a Jeff Blake rainbow ball is because he wanted to get it on Chase more quickly so the safety didn't have time to get over there. Could have been a better throw but I do remember live Chase lobbying for a flag because the corner grabbed him a little. He did grab and slow him down but was a good no call. If Burrow hits him on a line there which he may have without the little tug he might be going all the way where more air under it would have made it a contested catch situation and possibly could open Chase up to taking a big hit. Just an observation, love the channel JT. WHO DEY!
this is what's crazy about QB evaluation. granted he had the greatest college season of all time in my opinion. but he's actually gonna end up being one of the 10 to best QB's to ever play the game, he's more generational than Trevor or Andrew ever thought about being, there was no way for Ohio state to account for how good he really is at football, all because nobody accounted that he had the personality traits of a sociopath and he manages an internal unhealthy competitive streak lol Wild smh.
Hey JT, big fan! I’m a senior at Syracuse hoping to go into broadcasting post-grad, and your vids have really helped me understand and relate to the game on a deeper level. To that point, a broadcasting-related question for you: what do you feel are important details TV broadcasters miss pointing out during replays, timeouts, etc? How can broadcasters improve at translating the game for others (like you do so well)?
Dean Marlowe had a very rough game. The Bills missed Hamlin for sure. I believe on that play, deep middle for a tuddy, Marlowe was supposed to pick up Chase when the corner blitzed, instead he covered the back which was Bernard's guy unless they switched and just got burned by the scramble drill. Bills kinda got a tough break to end their season, just a lot to deal with and priorities change when you should be locked in to the football required to win in the postseason.
Bills on defense just didn't adapt. Sure they may have been missing talent but they never bothered giving Burrow different post snap looks. The Ravens weeks ago in the wildcard game which is why they managed to slow him down considerably. Bills didn't even pressure him given he's only got back ups for O-line (outside of Ted Karras). Give him both those things and he WILL just throw easy darts to his guys in the snow ALL DAY and the score reflects it.
For a defensive minded head coach Sean McDermott’s defenses have sure been gashed every year he has made the playoffs. Facing Zack Wilson, Mac Jones and Tua twice a year is one thing facing Mahomes, Burrow is another😂
The Bengals fans deserve this. Lots of fans have found success after suffering for a long time, but Bengals fans have been cool about it. Fan bases like the bills and dolphins turned in to the cockiest people on the planet after a mild amount of success.
Having gone to the very first game in 1968 I have to agree with you. Also, the class shown by the Bengals fans when Damar Hamlin was injured was very telling.
He might be the best QB playing right now. Burrow May end up being better than Allen AND Mahomes. I’d bet right now on all three making it To Canton. Allen the LEAST polished and look how great he looks. I don’t know if you reign him in or live with the mistakes, he’s a gunslinger like Favre but he’s built like Big Ben-guy’s A great athlete And I think he can get better. I’m not hating on anyone just my honest opinion. Not biased either. I WAS a Browns fan but I’m gonna root for good young teams like Jax, Buffalo, And Cindy. When the Haslam’s No longer run the Browns and Watson is gone (I can’t stand him for his off the field stuff, Then he sat out a year, Then he signed the biggest guaranteed contract in NFL hiatory when non-rich/connected people would be in jail. Justice might be a blind lady, but she definitely loves people with money any at- He just needs to take better care of the ball, or if 30% of the lows low-percentage throws and he’ll be fine. I’m splitting hairs, it’s just that Players are coming in to league So READY. Joey Brrrrrrrr 🥶 looks like a vet. And the man has NO FEAR. Yes, CIN almost lost To BAL, but if I’m the NFC SB team, I’d rather play KC. Cincy has ALL the emotions right now. They felt like the league favored Buffalo with their decision let Buff have Home field in the divisional round; If CIN ans BUF met at any point in the post season it shoulda been on a neutral site. They’ve talked about not having one single all-pro. They lost by a single FG just last season and some people think the refs helped LA out (the truly “rigged” post-season NFL games has always favorites the bigger market. Ans the Rams were like a Pro Bowl roster. I was happy Stafford got a ring, and I’m not saying Cincy got robbed, and I’m NOT saying the NFL is rigged more 1% Of the time. In fact, barrung Injury,Ain’t nobody like Mahomes, but the “greats” have to be immaculate pocket passers. They should learn it EARLY. Mahomes leg is giving him trouble, and Lamar is the new Vick (but better) and he can’t stay healthy. Burrow gonna get sacked a lot, but the dude’s mechanics are so far ahead of his time. I watch Trevor Lawrence and think “HE might be the next GOAT.” MIGHT end up with the best career of any of the young stars right now, because his mechanics are polished. Watch him make go thru his reads, It’s immaculate. He doesn’t, hitch, If he has to turn his body he’s immediately reset a perfect throwing motion. Burrow and Lawrence are the best pocket passers in the league. Mahomes has had an unprecedented first few years! He’s a genetic freak and his game is his alone; there will never be another and he might be a HOFer if he retires right now. Just as long as he doesn’t DESTROY his legacy (like Russell Wilson might actually play himself outta the hall of fame. People used at Wilson like they Mahomes; “we’ve never seen an athlete like him before!“ And Russ in his prime was doing stuff like we’d never seen, but now that he wants to play until he’s 50 and is just now figuring out how to be a pocket passer, he could play himself out of the HOF. If he retired a year ago, he’d get in. It’s not ALL ABOUT longevity. I’d say you have to have been the best at your position or up there to get in after a decade-long career as a QB. Wilson was THAT GUY when he was young, he could escape pressure like no one else, he had a beautiful deep hall, was accurate as you can be on the run, just played “backyard football.” If you wanna last in the league tho, gotta learn how to be a pure pocket QB. Russ has no clue, he can’t even read coverages because he didn’t have to. Look how long it took Baker to look like a “polished” player. He just ran around and played like Russell in college. Then he got to the pros (we won’t mention how no one succeeds as a rookie QB in CLE) but he’s just now looking like a pro QB.
Yes. He lost control of the ball as he was hitting the ground. Reasonable call and I say that as a long time Bengal fan. If it was a sideline pass it would have been a completion. Guess there is some logic to the rule, but I have to admit I don't know what that is.
Bengals will make it to the sb i’m convinced this is our year and joe burrow will be a greater qb than tom brady y’all just wait it’s barely his 3rd year in the nfl

As a Chargers fan, I was mad at Burrow for all the success. We're both starving franchises with stud QB's... but this past weekend made me realize how good he is. I wish our organization was half as competent as the Bengals.
if it makes you feel better, imo, y'all's owners and the Bengals are in race to the bottom as far ownership. So you got that going with them.
@@TheQBSchool True. But the ever since Mike Brown's daughter took over, it seems like they have picked up some sort of competence in the front office.
@@TheQBSchool You dont even know who the Bengals acting owners are lmao you still think 87 yr old Mike Brown runs the show hahaha. So jealous lol its ok, I would be also if i were u!
@@idiotshittiot Yeah this guy knows zero lol
Play at 12:00
Chase was definitely held. If he wasn’t, that’s right on the money. Another great throw imo.
Chaos-ey lol. I like that.
This was a damn good vid. U did a fantastic job breaking these plays down and I'm no dummy to football neither. Played it. Thx 👍
Awesome football IQ. Appreciate this channel.
Glad you like them!
Absolutely PERFECT video title!!! 🧨🔥⚡️🔥🧨
I’m not a Bengals fan but proud of them for becoming winners after so much nonsense before.
I'm a Bears fan but I'd love to see the Bengals beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl for a change. I think this QB can do it.
Their d-line is scary but yes it'd be awesome
Hey JT, big fan here. Would love your thoughts on these upcoming head coach or offensive coordinator positions. Are any of them attractive to you? 8 or 9 of this wk's playoff teams had offensive minds or former QB background. Thanks so much!!
I think he is elite running qb/athlete.
"In the elements." Heh. When WE played "in the elements," the one and only football we had got SOGGY. We could barely throw it 10 yards by the end of recess. In organized ball, they bring out a fresh, dry football.
“Chaotic” is the word you were looking for
Fans complained all the time about how "Zac is a terrible playcaller" etc.
Uh uh....
That was a coaching clinic against the bills. A total mismatch on both sides of the ball
Going into the draft "they" said Burrow had small hands and questioned if he could hold an NFL football properly. I guess "they" were wrong .
This was excellent. Great work!
Glad you liked it!
Burrow isn't as physically gifted as Herbert or Allen, but Burrow simply has that "it" factor.
It’s why he’s so good. He doesn’t have the biggest arm or the running ability like Mahomes or Allen, but he plays the position to a mastery level. And he’s been like that since his rookie year. Once in a lifetime player .
I have been waiting for this one.
The Chosen one......
Yo hold up the mahomes one is still a debate.
We've come a long way since the Red Rifle days.
If you put Burrow on Daltons bengals they probably would of won a superbowl...... well as long as Burfict didn't go off the rails
I love the title!!!
WHO DEY!
I JUST FOUND THIS CHANNEL SUBBED IM HOOKED
Cool studio! Get some lighting to light it up a bit.
Joe B. It's elevator to the top QB play. He's just different.
Yes, hes the Chosen one......lol
Bengals fans already booked their hotels and bought their Super bowl tickets. That's a lot of dough to have to get refunded for
this is what's crazy about QB evaluation. granted he had the greatest college season of all time in my opinion. but he's actually gonna end up being one of the 10 to best QB's to ever play the game, he's more generational than Trevor or Andrew ever thought about being, there was no way for Ohio state to account for how good he really is at football, all because nobody accounted that he had the personality traits of a sociopath and he manages an internal unhealthy competitive streak lol Wild smh.
Thats cute, but hes gonna end up being the best QB ever by the time he's done lol. "Top 10" lol ur high.
Hey JT show TJ Watt acting like a Chameleon and snatching Burrow INTS. out of the air at the line of scrimmage with his tongue
Zac Taylor is underrated! Plus Lou Anarumo is a goat
Sorry. No idea. I don’t think about that. Good luck and thanks for watching.
Wow great channel
Snow Brrrrrrow ❄
I love these videos.. insightful
In theeee elementsss
A nice old school red dog D would probably have worked better in place of at least 2 of those schemes
I have been saying Burrow is better than Allen since last year.
Joe Brrrr literally
Joe Burr best in the game rn
JT's not biased... but once a Bengal always a Bengals 😁
It snows in Cincy, right? What’s the BFD?
Wondering what you'll title the upcoming Patrick Mahomes AFCCG win over Joe Cool at Burrowhead...
I always like to here different terminology. What do y’all call the bluff screen? We call it sucker.
Terrell Bernard wasn't active. I'm assuming you mean Taron Johnson?(#7) The whole Bills defense didn't have a good day. Lol
How do you slow down this level of precision?
There should not be any refund at all. They bought the ticket on their own risk.
No shit hu lol
I’m highly disappointed this video wasn’t titled:
JOEY BRRRRRR!!
Might have already used that
@@TheQBSchool 😁
What's the timepiece you've got, JT?
doxa
For a defensive minded head coach Sean McDermott’s defenses have sure been gashed every year he has made the playoffs. Facing Zack Wilson, Mac Jones and Tua twice a year is one thing facing Mahomes, Burrow is another😂
JT ever since the clock hit 00:00 and we won the game, i’ve been waiting for this upload lol. can’t wait to see what you got!
WHO DEY 🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅
The Bengals fans deserve this. Lots of fans have found success after suffering for a long time, but Bengals fans have been cool about it. Fan bases like the bills and dolphins turned in to the cockiest people on the planet after a mild amount of success.
I LIKE YOU LOL THANKS!!!!!!!
Having gone to the very first game in 1968 I have to agree with you. Also, the class shown by the Bengals fans when Damar Hamlin was injured was very telling.
Careful now. You haven't made it to the dance yet,
@@jared1750 I'm a patriots fan, so I've got no skin in the game. I'm just saying what I've observed from the outside.
the Chiefs will get the same treatment
I don't mind contributing for good content like this.
He might be the best QB playing right now. Burrow May end up being better than Allen AND Mahomes. I’d bet right now on all three making it To
Canton. Allen the LEAST polished and look how great he looks. I don’t know if you reign him in or live with the mistakes, he’s a gunslinger like Favre but he’s built like Big Ben-guy’s
A great athlete And I think he can get better. I’m not hating on anyone just my honest opinion. Not biased either. I WAS a Browns fan but I’m gonna root for good young teams like
Jax, Buffalo,
And Cindy. When the Haslam’s No longer run the Browns and Watson is gone (I can’t stand him for his off the field stuff,
Then he sat out a year,
Then he signed the biggest guaranteed contract in NFL hiatory when non-rich/connected people would be in jail. Justice might be a blind lady, but she definitely loves people with money any at-
He just needs to take better care of the ball, or if 30% of the lows low-percentage throws and he’ll be fine.
I’m splitting hairs, it’s just that
Players are coming in to league
So READY. Joey Brrrrrrrr 🥶 looks like a vet. And the man has NO FEAR. Yes,
CIN almost lost
To BAL, but if I’m the NFC SB team, I’d rather play KC. Cincy has ALL the emotions right now. They felt like the league favored Buffalo with their decision let Buff have Home field in the divisional round;
If CIN ans BUF met at any point in the post season it shoulda been on a neutral site.
They’ve talked about not having one single all-pro. They lost by a single FG just last season and some people think the refs helped LA out (the truly “rigged” post-season NFL games has always favorites the bigger market. Ans the Rams were like a Pro Bowl roster. I was happy Stafford got a ring, and I’m not saying Cincy
got robbed, and I’m NOT saying the NFL is rigged more 1%
Of the time.
In fact,
barrung
Injury,Ain’t nobody like Mahomes, but the “greats” have to be immaculate pocket passers.
Watch him make go thru his reads,
It’s immaculate. He doesn’t,
hitch,
If he has to turn his body he’s immediately reset a perfect throwing motion.
Wilson was THAT
GUY when he was young, he could escape pressure like no one else, he had a beautiful deep hall, was accurate as you can be on the run, just played “backyard football.”
If you wanna last in the league tho, gotta learn how to be a pure pocket QB. Russ has no clue, he can’t even read coverages because he didn’t have to.
Look how long it took Baker to look like a “polished” player.
He just ran around and played like Russell in college. Then he got to the pros (we won’t mention how no one succeeds as a rookie QB in CLE) but he’s just now looking like a pro QB.
cinci using the 4wr side sets vs the Mahomes beater defensive shells like the Chiefs?
Who do u think wins
Joey Dimes
Wasn’t this TD 14:06 called back?
Yes. He lost control of the ball as he was hitting the ground. Reasonable call and I say that as a long time Bengal fan. If it was a sideline pass it would have been a completion. Guess there is some logic to the rule, but I have to admit I don't know what that is.
Snow Burrow
I think the Chiefs got their hands just a bit too full this time. Ditto Purdy and the 9ers. Bengals Eagles in the Bowl.
Bengals will make it to the sb i’m convinced this is our year and joe burrow will be a greater qb than tom brady y’all just wait it’s barely his 3rd year in the nfl
His first season he was injured so technically he's only played 2 full seasons.
