  • Welcome back Sweeties, This video was inspired by a TikTok I made regarding my first nursing paycheck. I also wanted to reiterate that it's okay to start low if you have to. It sure does get better with time! Thank you for watching this video of how much I make as a new grad registered Nurse.

It heavily depends on where you're working & the type of hospital. I've worked in hospitals in so called great areas and the nurses made 20 something an hour. Went to a hospital in the hood that was considered highly undesirable & the nurses and doctors made that bag! There were plenty if nurses in the psych unit earning 50+ an hour easy. That's not including shift differentials and/or charge nurse differentials.

@@taneshiao9337 No I’ve worked at the ER as a LPN at my local hospital and I’ve seen med surg first hand and most of the nurses were miserable. Being a mom of 3 I need a set schedule and no weekend and to be honest I don’t like bedside nursing specially med surg ( 12 hrs shifts, hospitals politics and cranky family members) Most of my classmates went to med-surg but I looked for a job for 5 months before getting this position. I was burned out and stress at the ER now I eat dinner every nights with my children. I’m grateful nursing has different specialties.

What people aren't saying is that the states that pay double the cost of living is probably triple. What she makes is probably good for where she lives. Same with you. People from Nyc and Cali making double but it will equal the same due to cost of living. Nurses won't make what doctors make but its not the worse pay either.

For example when I chart its my name followed by BSN RN, the associate RN is shown as their name followed by RN and the same for LPN.
