- The Wiesel is known as one of the most entertaining SPAA rat tanks in the game, though its BR is quite high. The Japanese SUB-I-II is like a very big Wiesel, but at a much lower battle rating. It is quite good at destroying tanks and is OK at destroying CAS planes.

Spookston. The JaPz.K A2 calls. A very short reload, an amazing dart, and thermals at 8.7. Did I mention it had a laser rangefinder? It is absolutely fantastic for 8.7!
I don't know who J is but im sure he did not mention that.
It is good ? Yes. Does it depend on the map ? Yes.
Those gen 2 or 3 thermals are incredible at 8.7, and the dart is good too. But I'd take a non thermal stab LRF anyday, like the swedish T55 at the sans Br.
I knew, I LITERALLY knew he would use the machine gun audio from Halo and I absolutely love it. I would love to see a Halo event in War Thunder, with all three Barthogs you basically have an SPAA, an ATM, and a TD.
I do think the AMX 50 to90 at 8.0 is also a moderately comedic tank shredder

My favourite part about the survivability onion is that you have all of this genuinely useful advice to avoid being destroyed, and then you've got the middle which is basically just "pray. fucking PRAY."
0:26 The Halo sound effects never fail to make me grin. Especially when it's in a video with a vehicle with a high rate of fire weapon and the CE AR or, as seen here, Warthog Chaingun sound.
The other sound effects are just icing on the cake.

When you get the aircraft finished off kill notice, you and the person who dealt severe damage to it get the kill.
Getting a severe damage notice is the same as killing, when the aircraft is destroyed, whether normally or by an ally, the kill credit is shared amongst both players.
Anyway, glad my favorite SPAAG is being recognized ! This thing is really nice and helps alot with the lack of mid tier SPAAG in the japanese tree, you can pretty much place it in the 7.3 lineup until you get the Type 87 RCV prototype!
Also please more Japanese vehicles especially the ST-A 3 being a hidden gem at 6.7 BR.

The SUB-I-II was one of the prototypes for the Type 73 APC, the successor to the Type 60.
Although, I think the 20mm may have been from a different SUB model, but I can't say for sure.

This was part of warthunder's aerial damage changes to properly credit people for kills.
2 important things:
A) Aircraft that is mostly damaged by one person gets the Severe Damage logo, which means most of the SL and RP go to that one person who, for example, shot out a wing.
B) Aircraft finishes off is when another person who is a money focused, attention seeking rat will get less RP and SL.

Fun fact the AP belt on the Sd.Kfz.222B can pen the side of a M6. Does not do much once in there, but you can be a menace.
something just occurred to me, this thing and AMX-10p are basically the same vehicle, same ammo, both made out of reinforced paper mache, but Japanese one is whole BR bracket lower. thinking emoji face

The dual belts actually allows you to switch between the 2 ammo types very quickly so you can switch and a shoot a plane with HE in only a few sec i think.
I have even brought 2 ap belts to switch between them when I really wanted ground kills as well.

You know people have object permanence, right ? Do you think the panther would stop shooting at the immobilized leo it's literally aiming at if there was smoke ?
It's so sad that the Type 87 (P) which only does better than this thing by having a stabilized gun but it is at so much higher BR of 7.7 but the SUB-I-II which is still a better vehicle to me mainly because of like 800 rounds of ammo is at 5.3 !
All SPAAGs should be able to pull stuff like this. I would not mind the R3-T20 getting this same round (as its gun is what was developed into the Rh202, its got the same dimensions on its rounds to use this APDS) and being punted up to 7.0-8.0.
don't know if anyone said this but, the SUB is a Type 73 APC developed in the late 60's from experiences in the Vietnam war and it was made to replace the type 60 wich was demed inferior in basically all ways

Day 134 You should play a tank with hydropneumatic suspension (recommend the MBT-70) But the catch is you have to drop the suspension as low as it can go for the whole match.

Challenge: play the 1.3 chi ha with only aphe. At best, it’s got only 21mm of pen (day 26)
Day 29 of telling spookston to play the IT1. its a ATGM launcher on the t62 chassis, it has decent-ish mobility, the turret is squished. You can hide behind cover and shoot ATGM over the cover like a gremlin and you overpressure tanks (tho it can be rare, but it does happen without you realizing) and its MG is really werid. Also it has a cool reload animation.

Now to convince you to play the others...
Once again, that's the Ke-Ni for the light tank, Chi-Ri II for medium, and Na-To for tank destroyer. Again, not in one line-up (though I put the Na-To on the line-up with my SUB-I-II, easy access to Rank Does Not Matter when I need it), just so you don't have to suffer through bringing a reserve tank to 5.0. The Chi-Ri II's secondary gun is the same as the Ke-Ni's, funnily enough. Of course, that gun is only good for punching light tanks to death, like PTs and M18s. So it could just be a case of making the Ke-Ni be very ratty. The Na-To has basically the Chi-Ri II's main gun, just at 3.3, and has APCR, for whatever that's worth on a TD that can front plate a Tiger with it's APHE.
The best part is its amphibious, i blast "drunken sailor" at full volume while jumping into rivers

6:05 when it says aircraft finished off it means someone else got severe damage on them, you got credit in the killfeed but you both got credited with the kill, so if you looked at the scoreboard someone else should have also gotten an air kill.
Seeing Spookston help that Leopard 40/70 reminded me a lot of that meme of Hulked Bruce Banner giving that guy his taco, it was very wholesome.
You should try shredding vehicles (And CAS) with the M167 Vulcan, it might be fun.

I love this vehicle too! It’s perfect food for my BTR-ZD.
I had this particular match one day with a stock sub i-ii, saw an enemy plane smoking and coming right at me. Shot it down in self-defense, but then a teammate in a plane killed me for 'stealing' his kill. I guess that's the only memorable thing I had off of it.
To answer your question of why the smoke launchers are in the back, it's because the truth that carries it can't replace it and it looks like the smoke launchers are activated at the back so is more for the soldiers that the Beagle carries that the actual vehicle

It was a prototype for Type 73 APC, it is indeed looks somewhat like Type 60 but it is bigger and faster

Spookton, you can't delay it forever, play le IT-1, NOW! ( Day 31 or 32, I lost count honestly, eh just count it as day 32, the bigger the number the better right?!)
U see the thing about the sub-I-II is that… the whole back area under the gun is a whole lotta nothing so people shoot there hoping to kill and the rounds just go straight through
8:18 the SUB-I-II was a prototype for the Type 73 APC, but the 20mm apparently proved too expensive and ultimately the production Type 73 dropped the 20mm. Also it's possibly using the wrong name, as from what I can tell the SUB-I-II only had a .50 and the variant with the 20mm, the one we have in game, would have been the SUB-II-2. Could be wrong though, I haven't done a very in depth dive on it and there's probably not many English sources on it.
This thing is my favorite thing to play in tanks RB with the A7M2 and KI-84 Ko as a CAS hunter. bum rush a cap, cause as much havoc than take to the sky's and maintain air supremacy. It's so much fun.
Tbh I count the BMP-2 as a heavier goblin, I literally never use the ATGMs and only the 30mm, and I can get 5 kill flanks super easily
With that orange barreled tank being able to fire I beleive they changed how breech and barrel damage works, like as long as it isn't black you'll be able to get 1 more shot before it breaks
Next week on warthunder. Spookston plays a worse sub-1-2 in the french tech tree. Bomby mcbomb face once again manages to track down and destroy our valiant hero. And we the viewers will once again get flash banged because he forgets to change the key bindings for NVG’s

Video 3 asking you to play the 12.0 Leopard 2A5. I’m almost to it in the German tech tree, and would like a review on it for me and others like me from the best war thunder content creator out there.
AMX-10P is overall still my favorite. Same 20mm (bit slower), double the clip size and completely closed top.
These videos are very good, better than my WT matches and randoms

You can 1v1 Tiger 2's in this thing, (The H version anyway) at close range you can penetrate the back flanks of the turret ring, or the corners of it's turret ammo hatch.
