Per second, this is about the cheapest way to experience zero-G that there is. Unfortunately, you don't get to float around because it's only 6 seconds.
The structure of the tower is 415 feet. In 1997, when the ride first opened, the cars traveled up to the highest point possible without hitting the emergency brakes at the top, which is roughly 380-390 feet. Throughout the years, the ride generally began to launch slower. By 2010, before the ride closed for it's transformation, the cars barely reached 2/3 of the way up the tower, which is roughly 260-270 feet. The cars, now, reach the full height as they used to in 1997.

I sincerely appreciate this video just because of 'Confetti-The Ride'. It's so true, every time Magic Mountain does a press event there's just buckets of confetti
I wasn't sure expecting it to go backwards when I went on it, I hate rides that suddenly launch backwards and was waiting for the doors to open on front of me lol.
It sounds like a Damn JET thought the park,and that ride is 415 feet

I remember seeing the two in front after the launch! thanks for the upload, it's nice to be able to see what happend out there. I remember going up and looking to side thinking, "That's alot of confetti!"
It happend so fast I didn't even hear the fireworks that went off when we hit the top.
Hands down the best ride at Magic Mountain. Everything about this ride rules. The take off, the climb, the sounds the ride makes ,everything. I don't like the fact that they start you off backwards what is up with that? When I used to ride this before if would start frontwards not backwards! I could ride this all day and be a happy camper. #1 on my list

I haven't been privy to that one as it was still under construction when I was there. I def check it out next time I go.
That ride looks awesome, but I'm going to Cedar Point and hear that Top Thrill Dragster is much cooler. Apparently it's way taller and more of an original roller coaster feeling still.

The best way to experience this ride is by holding a penny and dropping it at the top. It's cool to just watch it float there for a good second.

I like the noise it makes at the beginning of the launch. I also like the sound of hydraulic launches. Offride and at top speed, it only looks so slow like it's only going 65 mph.

the only possible reason why I think this goes of faster then tower of terror ii and higher is because of the barricades of the wheels or the how big the wheel is, not because of the magnetic power they have or its alot taller.

When me and my dad went on this coaster, we ran the long way to it. When we got there the ride barley opened and there was only a few people waiting for it. We went on it the first time then we went through the flash pass gate to go on it again. I think the most intense coaster i have been on

love this ride...if your a fan of coaster that just take off at some awesome speeds and not afraid of heights, then this is the perfect ride for you

THIS RIDE IS WORTH THE WAIT.! THE LINE MAY LOOK LONG BUT IT MOVES PRETTY QUICKLY.! Get on the RIGHT SIDE it goes FASTER AND HIGHER..! x))

I know! It used to go a a tiny bit higher than halfway up the tower now it finally goes way higher. AND BACKWARDS IS SO MUCH BETTER! Plus they enhanced the superman theme.

My dream would. Go to that six flags. I live.in Midwest. And that's all the way in California. Man. That place looks. Amazing. I would love to go there. I wish I lived in California. I would go to that park every day. Rides are mind blowing

Actually every Six Flags theme park has its own unique rides. Some of the rides may share names, but the track layouts are all different, despite their names.

It's all looks..... Going up the drop is the scariest part but the drop and the rest is a cake walk... SO MUCH less intense then it looks you will be fine

Goliath is probably not that bad if your aren't afraid of heights but superman can be thrilling. If you are willing to do it then go for it you will feel accomplished and I pretty sure superman is super fast and over before you know it

+SHQ05 I am afraid of heights but i still ride high attractions such as Europes tallest drop tower:Atmosfear(about 116m high/145m over the sea) So i think i'll handle goliath but how about x-2? I like thrill rides but i don't like them if they get to intense so do you think i should ride x-2?

To go backwards doesn't sound like much. But i would always look backwards anyways. So to ride backwards is totally fun. I loved the change. Only complaint is the side seats block your outer hand. One of my favorite rides!!!!!!!

@FuryRanger > Good question. You would think it would draw more power for that amount of acceleration. I mean, The Chiller's launch was fast, but nowhere near as fast as Superman.

I know when both sides of Chiller at Great Adventure launched at the same time it would cause gray outs in the park. Does this use as much power as Chiller did?
