LOVEBITES are their own quality control. They will make sure there are no dud tracks from them. They are my fave band because I like ALL their songs. 👍👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🤘
LOVEBITES - Stand And Deliver lyrics: Bet the time you got in this game ! Bet the time you got in this game ! You ready ? You ready ? Let the night go deeper than now ! Let the night go deeper than now ! You see ? You see ?
Scream until you break and rip out your heart Forget about everything that is just in your way Stand and deliver 'cause nothing's satisfying Stand and deliver and shoot'em down Stand and deliver 'cause nothing's satisfying Stand and deliver and shoot'em down
This is it, take all in your hand This is it, take all in your hand You ready ? You ready ? This, for me, is never enough This, for me, is never enough You see ? You see ?
Feel the shade that lays deep down in your soul Already know the craziness hiding under that face
Stand and deliver 'cause nothing's satisfying Stand and deliver and shoot'em down Stand and deliver 'cause nothing's satisfying Stand and deliver and shoot'em down We will bring something new to this world Speeding it up and we won't end
Bet the time you got in this game ! Bet the time you got in this game ! You ready ? You ready ? Let the night go deeper than now ! Let the night go deeper than now ! You see ? You see ?
Scream until you break and rip out your heart Forget about everything that is just in your way
Stand and deliver 'cause nothing's satisfying Stand and deliver and shoot'em down Stand and deliver 'cause nothing's satisfying Stand and deliver and shoot'em down ----- lyrics: asami music: asami & miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES & miyako album: Judgement Day 02/22/2023 -----
Yes, from the Judgement Day album, 2nd single after the title track. As you saw , both had bass intros, a 'meet our new bassist, this is what she can do' kind of intros. Lyrics by Asami, music by Miyako and Asami. That intro is great, then Midori comes in and wakes you up with that dive bomb. lol. This MV was nice , getting to see the ladies in regular clothes and just having fun. The thrash side isn't as prevalent now that Miho has left, she wrote many of the thrashier ones.
With its distorted bass riff intro, this track reminds me a bit of Motörhead's "Ace of Spades", but with a more modern/contemporary sound. From a metal hammer fans' poll for the "best 50 metal songs of 2023", "Stand and Deliver (Shoot 'em Down)" came in at #15
For all the people who don't like music videos this is probably the most fun Lovebites had making videos. First time everyone was involved singing vocals and wearing something different than their usual white dresses. I wish they made more videos. 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
LOVEBITES' music has been described as a love letter to 1980s and early 1990s metal. They happily admit that they have been influenced by legendary metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth, (early) Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament ... with hints of Pantera, Helloween, Motörhead and probably another dozen bands from that era. BUT, they've managed to modernize that classic metal sound and make it their own. If they were playing this music in the 1980s, they would be internationally famous and would have filled stadiums on tour.
Thanks, this probably explains why we like this band so much! I see no issue with them having influences, they do an excellent job carrying on the traditions and adding more to them.
I disagree with "iron maiden" (small letters) especially "dragon force" (small letters) totally. They are nothing for LOVEBITES, maybe for Miho, but she is not in band anymore, thankfully. Her (Miho) VISION was bad, she is nothing of the leader. Wright some songs, but ASAMI write much more. Fami is much better bassist, not only from Japan. Finland people are real founder of the band. Miho would never found ASAMI, MIYAKO, MIDORI. HARUNA is GREAT but they are already together. And HARUNA is still in LOVEBITES. "iron maiden" (small letters) are garbage, NONE inspiration of METALLICA.
Cool reaction! I have written this before, theese Ladies gave me the 80's back and they started out very much inspired by bands from the 80's european metal scen as well as the early american Trash scen I believe. A couple of theese womens parents played a lot of hard rock and metal when they grew up so, keep on reacting to our Ladies.
The throw back sound to me is based on Their influences. Personally I get a Garage days Metallica sound from it. Every band has influences and their sound come out in the bands music. You'll be hard pressed to find a better modern day band. These ladies rule.
The DNA of Lovebites comes from Miho, the original bassist, who started the band and patterned her playing on Steve Harris of Iron Maiden. In addition to Iron Maiden, she loves the music of Pantera and the big four of Thrash, especially Anthrax. The first person she recruited was Haruna, her ex-bandmate in Destrose. Haruna fell in love with metal when she first heard Helloween and she patterns her style on Uli Kusch. The first metal song that Miyako taught herself to play was Metallica's Master of Puppets. Midori is a fan of guitarists like Nuno Bettencourt and Kiko Loureiro. The force of the 80s is strong in this band.
As someone who isn't a fan, which is to say I'm neutral about the band, to me the drums and production sound modern (these are the things I don't like), but the writing, the guitars and vocals (the things I do like) sound very much like a throwback to the late 1980's, when thrash was beginning to take over the metal scene.
Yeah finally a reactor who points out Megadeth on this song, jeje since the first time I heard the song I said, that riff where all the queens do gang vocals is a shoutout to “Take no prisoners “ from Megadeth. Hasta la próxima amigos
They even wrote an homage to Aces High of Iron Maiden which is The Crusade ua-cam.com/video/X-pMhF0f-UQ/v-deo.html. The band founer/ex-leader Miho was a big fan of Steve Harris and they know each other in person. Lovebites is modernized authentic metal from 80s and 90s such as Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeath, and Helloween. You may also like their cover music. No one doubts their musical ability....and everyone should know I love the female voice!......but try as I might, I cannot listen to the singular tone of the "singing"! Don't jump on me just yet, as I am wondering, because I am not a fan, if they play anything under 100 miles an hour, and without the awful vocal processing?
Who is taking about their play anything under 100 miles an hour, doesn't has heard they others more 60 songs, more progr. and more ballads and without vocal processing: Asami sing live better live than in the videos or in CD (i saw them in Milano last June live from 5 meters)!
You should listen to their song Edge of the World. The song showcases Asami both as a vocalist and lyricist. Here is the link - ua-cam.com/video/jQKf8Dy_chA/v-deo.html Let me know what you think. I am not sure what you mean by voice processing. I saw them live in Atlanta last weekend in their US debut. Asami sounded great even though she, from my understanding, was hit by jet lag harder than the rest. She skipped the meet and greet which was a few hours before they took the stage. They performed this song and all were fantastic. They have a video of a live performance of Stand and Deliver - ua-cam.com/video/cNi-OEjzMdA/v-deo.html
@@danw6048 OK the first one I’ve seen before"……. starts out pretty and then goes into the same old tired, same old, same old second one another, to my ear, screechy vocal. They just don’t take me on a musical ride. It’s just a tour de force of the same thing. I guess I’m just not tuned for it.
Lemmy (RIP) approves of this song.
I think Lovebites is pretty unique in blending old school metal with a modern freshness...
From th EP II "Where´s Identity" has also some great Gang Vocals
Love Lovebites 🐺🤘🏴

Love the bass intro. Love the gang vocals. Love seeing them in casual attire having fun!👍🤘

I was about to write, and well, this expresses exactly what I was going to say. Gracias amigos!!
Today's generations don't apriciate good music anymore, they rather listen to that crap those rappers and swiftie like "singers" put out.
@1970Phoenix You hit the nail on the head, Lovebites is absolutely modernizing many great metal elements into their music.
I disagree with "iron maiden" (small letters) especially "dragon force" (small letters) totally. They are nothing for LOVEBITES, maybe for Miho, but she is not in band anymore, thankfully. LOVEBITES throwback to Motorhead! 🤘🔥

Lovebites has studied all music of the 70's and 80's Miyako's mother loved Deep Purple so she was exposed to Ritchie Blackmore

My opinion is that Lovebites play metal as it should be today........and not as it is played by all the new bands..........
