Very helpful, exactly what I was looking for. 2 Questions, on the down shift lever you attached with the spring on the one side, there is steel cable coming off on the other side of it, mine is hanging loose and can't see where it is suppose to attach. I has a small, maybe 1/8" pin that sticks in somewhere? Also, It seems my safety switch is working fine for only starting in park and neutral, but not reverse. Why can't you just permanently jump the two wires like you did to test reverse lights to bypass the safety switch and then your reverse lights would work?

Hi, sorry I didn’t answer you sooner. The cable attaches to the gas pedal. Look by the firewall. There’s a vertical bar on the gas pedal linkage. It attaches to that. So when you stomp on the gas, it pulls the cable and causes the transmission to downshift. If I understand you correctly, if you left the jumper wire in. The reverse lights would be on all the time.

Thank you for the video of someone actually working to repair something. That said what's the point of the shredded latex glove? That's a damn pointless glove. Tear that bad boy off, trust in your degreasing hand cleaner and leave the gloves to pansies that need them.

Agreed , I seldom wear gloves. But there was a lot of tranny gunk.

I agree with "tear the bad boy off" but what is with the "pansy?" That part is a little much. I often wear gloves, depending on what I am doing. I worked in the automotive industry for 40 years and one thing I've learn is that what ever gets on your skin gets into your blood. When your hands get saturated in oils or fluids your skin absorbs it like crazy and large amounts get to your blood. You can wash your hands with quick orange or whatever hand cleaner you want, but you can't get the stuff out that's absorbed in your skin and blood. These oils and chemicals are highly carcinogenic, and dangerous... You might as well drink it. I wouldn't call someone a pansy who refuses to drink tranny fluid my friend.

@@mrmcs11 The very air you're breathing right now is filled with carcinogenic chemicals, the food you last ate, same.
