Anos is a charming protagonist because in spite of him having world bending/breaking powers and needing to deal with nefarious shenanigans, he genuinely takes an interest in his friends, their interests, and their problems and will bend the world to his will in order to help them in any way he can
So just to clear up a confusion in terminology. "Source" is the floating 3d art thing that shows up when Misha and Anos cast spells, everybody has one and it's basically their soul. Earlier on, Anos used another term, I've seen it translated as "root" or "origin", and that refers to the originator of the current demon race, aka Anos himself. Also, the whole point is that yeah, Anos could force everyone to submit to him, but he's not about all that violence if he doesn't need to. His whole shtick is that he doesn't want to rule with raw power and fear like he used to.
I'd like to add something now that it has been confirmed in the light novel. The baby inside of his mother was close to death and she went to the doctors, nothing they could do even with magic could save the child so she started praying to that anything divine or demonic would listen and save her baby. One night while she was sleeping, the baby's heart inside of her stopped, but Anos' source heard her last prayer and restarted it. The baby grew and Anos was born. Her sheer force of will and desire to be a mother is what ultimately drew his source to the baby. He wanted the family he didn't have in his first life.
Misha having Creation magic and Sasha having Destruction magic, is quite appropriate when their origins are fully delved into later. Let's just say.... Anos has dealt with someone who had Creation and Destruction Magic Eyes before....
