Find out how to buy a business without risk - bit.ly/3VRmViX
If you're interested in learning more about buying a business this video is for you. Jonathan Jay interviews John Hood, a successful entrepreneur who built a multi-million-pound turnover business by acquiring other people's businesses without spending a penny of his own money.
They discuss business acquisition strategies and how to purchase an established business.
John Hood shares his experience of buying and building six companies, with a total revenue of £6 million. He talks about how he ended up acquiring the first business through consultancy work, and how being in Jonathan Jay's Inner Circle helped him become more accountable and successful.
The businesses that John Hood acquired are mainly in the construction sector, with a focus on home improvement. They include a garage door company, a roof replacement company, a traditional window and door business, an aluminium fabricator, and more. John is agnostic about the types of companies he acquires, as long as they fit in the same sector.
They also discuss the importance of transparency and trust in business acquisitions, the viability of the business, and why email negotiations typically fail.
Jonathan Jay shares some of his own experiences, including buying businesses with revenue between £750 million and £1.2 billion. The importance of deferred consideration and timing, and how it can benefit buyers is discussed, as are the potential risks of buying a business, including how some sellers disappear after receiving payment.
If you're serious about business acquisition, this video provides a comprehensive guide to help you get started. It is a great resource for anyone who wants to buy a business.

There's no need to do that - I certainly wouldn't recommend it

Why are the guest always so quiet? Video is unwatchable because Jonathan is too loud when you turn it up

My guests are people who have bought businesses, not professional speakers...I guess if you turn your speakers up, you'll be able to hear what you are missing

@@theDealmakers Thanks for listening, and I apologise for my comment. The issue isn't the speaker, they just need their mic boosting when you edit. You're very loud with the volume high enough to hear your guests.

Excuse me, is your interviewee raising other people’s money to invest and buy businesses or strictly seller financing and creative financing?

It's called 'unitranche' - multiple funding sources coming together to do the deal

Why is he not given clear examples of businesses he has brought

Possibly because it's his own, private business and you can't expect someone to share everything with the public. This was filmed at a live event - what you don't see here is the Q&A session where there's a lot more detail
