Sparkle vs Ruan Mei

- Kind of a short test and there are others that have said it already but want to establish the fact that Sparkle actually doesn't increase his dmg ceiling all that much, so if you have Ruan Mei for him and not interested in what Sparkle gives, you don't have to pull her and Jing Yuan will still be strong. Sparkle value current imo lies more in QoL rather than a truly big upgrade (the clear time are also mostly similar so far).

I just use both
Sparkle just makes him more consistent and easier to use for the average player , especially that not many poeple have DDD at high superimposition (I am a day 1 player and I still have S1 DDD😅) , From my personal testing : my JY with the cosmos LC gets 2 cylces in MOC 12 with Sparkle, and gets 3 cycles with Ruan mei , it's not a big difference , but it is an improvement in my case
I like how similar they both are. It doesn’t feel like you’re gimping on JY’s damage by giving him a weaker support, if the other side needs either Sparkle or Ruan Mei.
I absolutely adore the flexibility! :D
Also, you can tell HoYo is designing some enemies tailored to Ruan Mei more, with higher toughness bar on them. So really, it’s amazing Jing Yuan can use both of them really well.

Eh sparkle jing outperformed ruan jing as total damage was around 900k compared to 750ish.
Now for newer players who don’t have good relics sparkles’s crit damage buff becomes a lot stronger.
Only saving grace is ruan mei’s delay which can sustain
I don't get it. We have literally almost the same stats. E0S1 | 4pc Duke | Salsotto | 3.3k with 74/185 crit on JY, E0S1 on Sparkle and Ruanmei, 2.6k atk on tingyun with S5 PR / DDD, two broken keels on the team, trace lvl 10, yet my ult can't one shot the fishes, nor can LL hit 400k. The only difference is I have a Fuxuan instead of huohuo. Does she make that big of a difference? I'm literally doing half you're dmg here with everything else being literally the same. What am I doing wrong? 😢
Huohuo gives 40% atk bonus when she ults and can sometimes fill Tingyun's ult bar again so she can ult twice in first cycle, giving more dmg buffs to Jingyuan. FuFu gives more consistent crits but if ur crit rate is already high, huohuo increases ur team's dmg ceiling
It's mostly the absence of 4 Duke effect before Lightning Lord strike for the first time plus no 40% atk from Huohuo I think, that mean my JY is having another 52% atk vs yours for skill and ult before LL can strike and 4 Duke kicks in.
Also all my support buffing traces are max, and I made sure Jing Yuan isn't being hit by dmg weaken debuff nor fishes exploding fail to applied Def shred to either of the Elites.
Sparkle doesn't seem to work well in the dot team, and nihility seems to be the strongest in conundrum 12, so ruan mei is better imo
That’s a fair point. Then again, it depends on what characters you have. I have BS with no Kafka, and I also have Blade/DHIL, so I go Propagation a lot. Hanabi does wonders for me. It would be nice to have Ruan Mei in the current meta, though, since Hoyo decided to increase the Toughness bars on enemies.
dots dont crit so ruan mei >
