Mini review of the Amati 1\250 scale Titanic

  • Building the 1\250 Titanic model from Amati. I am already 26 months into this build. And I am starting to paint up some of the white metal parts for the boat deck. This is a museum quality kit with some excellent details.

    I built amati's 1/200 bismarck and hood took four years each

      I've got the Hood and thinking of buying Bismark because of the history of the two.probably build them out of the box. Unless I can get hold of the Aftermarket kits.

      @@tcoteof Amati's Bismarck and Hood are wood plank on frame with masses of brass.

      I did think of buying the wooden ones but to expensive and requires to much of a commitment.
      I have the 1\200 Trumpeter Hood.

    I bought the mini brass domes they are beautiful. 1/200 and minibrass is bloody expensive

      It nicer than the coloured card. It is expensive if buying the lot.

    I just bought this, am I sorry now or what? It is not a museum quality kit with all these faults. I have built the Amati 1/200 kit found it had many faults also.

      Good point and true. But take care of the various faults and it builds into a very nice model. Especially if you add the Mini Brass photo etch.
