    You guys go check out Lechistanduke. His inventory is always changing and his prices are very good especially since he ships from Poland and the shipping is reasonably quick. I'm sure he'd be willing to combine shipping on orders with multiple items..... LINK BELOW:

    Great review Smokey! I always enjoy seeing Polish ration reviews especially with Hungarian stew. I love the stuff but then again i am Polish myself. Thanks for sharing!

      I haven't had a bad Polish meal yet. I really enjoyed the main. When I first saw it I thought it was a Polish specialty dish but cone to find out its not even the name of a dish it's a pot to cook in. I wonder why they named the main dish Bogracz? Thanks for watching as always.... Later.

    • @mateuszwisniewski3877
      @mateuszwisniewski3877 6 років тому +1

      Bogracz (the "cz" here sounds much like English "ch" as in "check") was orignally the pot used for cooking, but it later became the name for a thick soup made in the pot (somewhere between a soup and a stew, depending on the amount of water you put in it...).
      Nb. in Polish, a stew is usually called "gulasz" (goulash), another lona word from Hungarian. There are a few other culinary / cultural import here, too ;)

    Heres a cool tip when using that type of flame less ration heaters on a large foil main dishes.. you can cut in between the pouches and put one on the top and the other two on the bottom then just add your water like normal. I find it heats the meal better.

    • @Oldsmokey1
      @Oldsmokey1  6 років тому +1

      It got pretty dang hot. I'd say it was just about as hot as I'd want it. If I had cooked it on the stove then let it cool for a few minutes is how hot it was.

    • @Joe.Rogan.
      @Joe.Rogan. 6 років тому

      Yea it looked like a powerful heater.. i always seem to have trouble tho getting those big mains to heat all the way sometimes especially if the food is more solid and not so easily mixed. That main looked delicious tho.

      I'll tell ya this main heated all the way through but I did give it all the time it needed to heat. I was impressed with the frh in this ration. I'm sure the saltwater helped to. I swear by saltwater. The main was really good btw. I actually finished it all before it even got cold.

    Cool polish rations. Delicious of course has done a few of these. Glad you got the hookup. Sorry you had to get a new one.
    This ration looks very yummy. I think flat on the heater is best. They are like I remember the heater is aggressive. Wish the us MRE heater was improved.
    This is a civilian ration if not mistaken???
    The chocolate and main look very good. Might be less hard as fresher??
    Would in your opinion the main have benefited from hot sauce. Answered my question. The love chicory coffee in Louisiana as you stated.

  • @unrealpete42
    @unrealpete42 6 років тому +1

    I never understood what you guys were talking about when you say not bitter coffee. I come from a place where we grow, treat and roast coffee beans. I NEVER had coffee that wasn't "bitter" and strong. I am from Brazil and our native coffee way to drink it is like a triple espresso most of the time. When we drink it more light we just add skin milk as we call it "café com leite".

    • @Oldsmokey1
      @Oldsmokey1  6 років тому

      I like a good strong coffee but it being bitter from sorbitol, or ascorbic acid like this chicory coffee seemed to be. I'd love to get and try some actual fresh picked coffee beans.

  • @FlankerTanker

    I have had this ration the dinner o my went off ... I also have had other Arpol rations go off . The soft cans seals are not strong ... I will not get Arpol rations again..

    • @Oldsmokey1
      @Oldsmokey1  6 років тому +1

      I think the key it to stick to the military rations the SRG, SR, and S. If I'm not mistaken the military ones have sleeves on the soft cans. The Shooters ration had real cans in it which is the only reason I think it lasted 2 years past the BBD. I really like Arapol food but they need to work on their products being safer for travel. That's for sure.

      Right on man. I'll be eating a Carolina Reaper here soon. I'm not exactly a chilli head because honestly I don't have access to many superhots. I just ordered x2 from Vat.19 and a world's hottest chocolate bar, oh and a packet of the Reaper powder. I'm not sure what to make with the powder yet. I just dig your channel man and hopefully some of my viewers like your content like I do.

    Re: chicory root.
    When coffee was rationed and in short supply in Australia and England durin WWII, they brought out ground chicory root as a substitute. People complained that it was horrible and tast3d nothing like coffee.
    Fast forward to modern times and chicory is touted as a delicious caffeine-free alternative to coffee. Times change.
    Nice review. That stew looks nice. Probably got sweet paprika in it, if it’s a Hungarian-style dish.

    • @Oldsmokey1
      @Oldsmokey1  6 років тому +1

      That's cool info about the chicory. The main dish didn't taste like it had paprika in it. If it did it was very, very little. I liked the fact it didn't have any sweetness to it. In alot of the European type dishes I've noticed a sweet hint. Thanks for watching.... Later.

      I plan to suit up and open that thing. That'll be a short disgusting video but it's good to see what happened to it. I'm not sure the entree is busted or I'd think it would stink really bad already through the bag. So we'll see I'll definitely open that thing up in the next day or two.

    I have seen A few of these Oldsmokey, mixed reviews, we shall see your opinion, LOL. Yours has good components! I am not big on sweets, however, chocolate bar looked awesome. The stew looked awesome also friend! Correct me if I am wrong friend, but, wasn't there A U.S. chicory coffee years ago? May still be. I can not remember, but will google it! Sweetened condensed milk, is awesome, and, multipurpose ! Open up busted ration, open up whatever is your choice friend, your channel, your call. We shall watch regardless! Hey, email me at Gmail, or message me on Facebook please. I want to run Idea by you before I make public. I had an idea, but, you know I am not normal, lol. The sad part is, if I am correct, you will like this idea? Peace, John! P.S., if time allows, and no new malfunctions enter my life, LOL, will attempt to tape and post review tomorrow. I won MRE from Bloger, ravioli , unknown date, no code outside pack. When inside, we will know. I may hint on this video?? If i have time to do review, watch, and give me your viewpoint, if i do not see you messenger, or Gmail before then. I think this might work? Peace Amigo!!

    Next time heat the main up the first way you were gonna do it with us wrapped around the side front and bottom. I think that would work better. Nice vid. That tube milk is something I’m curious about. Btw I checked out mickey👍🏻

      That tube of sweet and condensed milk is good for 100 different uses. Can't beat that stuff. Mickey got ahold of me and he's very excited that some people have checked him out. He seems like a good dude. The Chase the heat channel has some really cool content. I prefer watching the insane challenges he does luke drinking a whole bottle of 13 million Scoville extract. That would probably literally kill alot of people if they'd try it. I mean look at L.A Beast when he tried the 9 million Scoville extract on noodles. The Johnny ate either 20 or 25 of the one chip challenge chips. I remember watching L.A Beast and Furious Pete do the one chip and it rocked their world. If your into that sort of thing his channel is great for that content. Look up the Gusher Challenge with Paradise Wice. That video made me laugh until I cried it was so funny.

      I'll tell ya this particular menu was awesome. The only thing I wish it would have had was a pack of instant mash like the imps have. That would have made it a home run for me. The only thing I thought could change was the noodles were overdone. The chocolate bar definitely made up for the noodles that were a bit over cooked. Thanks for watching as always..... Later.

      Omg yes the BDP was the most foul thing I've ever smelled from a ration and I've opened 75 year old food. I really liked the Bogracz in this. The only thing I'd change is the noodles either cook them less or take them out and put more veggies in their place. Ah no worries man. I link your channel alot but verbalizing it makes a big difference when people understand I watch your channel, do deals with, and communicate with you on a regular basis. I've always liked hot stuff and I've had my share of ghost peppers but I've never had a Reaper or an extract. I'm kinda nervous but I'm going to eat a Carolina Reaper for hitting 10k subscribers. I don't think that's all I'll do because I'm sure not everyone will like it so I'm doing something special Ration wise. Those extracts are crazy. Oh and BTW I really like Johnny. Yes your correct. Arapol is the company that does alot of rations military, and civilian. The civilian rations are not up to the specs of the military ones. I've noticed that the main dish tins come in sleeves in the military ones, and the tins in the civilian ones are thinner. So my suggestion is if you want Polish go with mil spec.

      Oh I am already through with them, I justed needed them for review. I did want to do all 3 on the german channel but with the 2 broken ones I figured I can do the lunch one on the english channel and people have a good idea of what to expect. Not in the near future though since you just did lol.. The polish 24h Rations are the best of the whole lot in Poland. With real tins those won't break and the food is great. I'm loving these Polish ration reviews. I'm going to have to try one (or some other eastern European ones).
    Oh I gave Delicious a new sub.

      Very cool. He's a genuinely good guy. If you don't mind hod broken English he gets some awesome rations. Alot of times before anyone else. He's where I used to get all my polish rations. But if you'd really want to get some your best off going into mreinfo.com and dealing with Lechistanduke. I'd also suggest getting x2 or x3 it helps with shipping costs.

      I wanted to break out my new stove top cook the main but the frh did to good of a job so I didn't need to. It was even still warm by the time I finished eating it. Thanks for watching Steve.... Later.

      Oh that was a Hummer knife with the window punch and seat belt cutter. I had a fellow Firemanfood1988 send it to me in the last Oldsmokey's mail call video.
