It's not overkill...everyone should use a Big Bud to till their yard prior to seeding grass!
Two hours of setup and 30 seconds of tillage work.
I wish I could a laughing emoji on this comment
if its worth doing. its worth overdoing!
I wonder how much Home Depot would charge me to rent one for the day?
overkill is underated
I was expecting Leg Arms to use the 80 foot roller not that tiny one 😂
You have to love the Welkers, hard working, family men, minding their own business.. What would the world be if it had more people like these....
I compost nearly 50 ton of equine compost every year. I have to turn it a few times a month. I have it tested by a lab. Some I "store" is 5 years old. No NOX, no ammonia & 6.7ph. The organic gardeners locally buy tons from me a year. Pretty good racket, lol. Best part is it comes off my neighbor's horse training facility. I just have the room to store it & turn it into fertilizer.
I was 10 and helped dad prep ground for 1.5 acre lot, new house. Cleared rocks, seeded fertilized. 8 o'clock that night had rain shower all night . Yes we had a lawn.
Off to a good start this year. Wishing the Welkers a safe season with no hail, grasshoppers, sawflies and timely rains. Hopefully this leads to a profitable year! Good luck.
I didn't know one needed a Big Bud to do garden work...
Can always learn something from a video.
Thanks Welker men...there was another comment previously about men...hard working family men. Thank you Welkers...you are those men.
Yeah we all want a Big Bud to work on our lawns.
I couldn't turn around a big bud in my yard. 🤣🤣
@@benc.e5030 It will enlarge the yard for you.
On the YT channel "Engle's Coach Shop" Mr. Engle is in the process of rebuilding a Smith 1911 manure spreader. On a different note: The smell of horseshyt and hay bring back fond childhood memories.
Nice Grizzly Adams beard there Leg Arms! 😉 Keep up the hard work, praying this is a blessed season for you all
I used that in a garden one time and learned a valuable lesson. Turns out horses eat a lot of weeds and the seeds from those weeds pass right through them. I grew some beautiful vegetables but I never got done weeding.
Good luck! Lmao 🤣😂
That poop is GOLD in the soil! Our garden was amazing when he had chickens, mini donkeys & Boer goats.
I pet sit in client’s homes, a client hooked me up with rabbit pen clean out. We spread it in beds close to our porch. Didn’t bother me one bit! Our onions are very happy!
Here I was thinking you guys had someone wanting you do showcase their BIG "Turd Hearse" behind one of the Buds.
THIS! This is similar to the smell of my childhood and I love it. Except mine was cow poop. My wife (and kids) thought I was mad when I told them that. Now, after 30 years, we've moved from Africa back to Scotland and we still have the same smell from the nearby farms. My family have not changed their minds. And now they smell it for themselves they think I am truly beyond mad !
Looks like the 4520 made a comeback. I love that tractor!!!
Putting 3 or 4 year old nature cured horse manure is a great idea for the lawn.🤩👍👍
My dad bought some manure from the stockyards in Omaha back in the 60’s or 70’s and spread it on our yard. It stank to high heaven. Especially after watering and rain.
In the UAE (Abu Dhabi & Dubai) they used to use Milorganite (granulated dried Milwaukee sewage) and this lawns really stank when they were being watered.
😮@@Lightning613
Always a great day when you get Larson Farms & Welkers' new videos on the same day! I was disappointed, Mr. Bob didn't have a joke or three about the horse manure!😂 I'm praying we all get the weather we need for bin busting yields this year! God bless.
Yep, two of my favorites. Hopefully Millennial Farmer will start posting videos more frequently soon too.
I love that your attitude is that y'all take what you have, fix it, make it work, whatever, and then just pray for rain. I pray that you have the rain you need for a good year. Y'all are due for one. Thanks for keeping us fed.
If memory serves me right! There was a John Deere commercial. Had a big track hoe planting a little tree, any capture said, tree planted in 2 minutes. The next one was in the kitchen, looking through the looking through the glass sliding door, you seen the biggest combine they made at the time go by! The capture said back yard mowed in 3.5 seconds. So using a Big Bud is not Overkill. That's what was needed to get the job done right!! Y'all stay safe
I can't wait for the seeding livestreams. It's great to see some moisture in your soil this year. I'm praying you have a safe growing season with record harvests! God bless the Welker Farms family.
Bud has a new hat to wear…. Lawn Tractor!!
You bring a new dimension to DIY lawn care. I love it!!! Stay Safe!
Hope you get enough rain this year. Nice to see Patch, I hope Pete is doing well also. Our last 2 dogs passed over winter first time I have not had a dog that I can remember ever in my life. Hope the blue truck with the CAT is going to be shown soon. Stay safe and healthy.
Yeah, Patch has been a bit more sociable in coming over to the shop. Pete likes to stay at the house in his doghouse or out in the sun - he's a homeboy. 😊
God bless and hope for a good season to all farmers out there!
LOVE THE YARD IMPLEMENTS WHAT SIZE MOWER YOU ALL GOING TO USE WITH ALL THAT FERTILIZER YOU MIGHT HAVE TO MOE OFTEN
The Welker Farms sure put those Flexi-Coils to good use behind the Big Bud. 😊 (See 8:25 on the video.)
you cannot beat a good lump of fym for any crop. But that has to be the largest tractor ever used to do a home lawn! But it is a great machine even if the disc set wants oiling!!!!! Then we get the old John Deere with the small roller. Whatever size will the lawn mower be? Great videos.
Thanks for another great video Welkers.
It was interesting and enjoyable.
I have to say I never saw a big bud used to do lawn work and the field tillage unit to work the soil around a house. 🏡 there is a place for everything I guess including the horse manure. I would think when your horse manure gets wet it will stink but maybe not. Time will tell. Should grow some real good grass!!!!!
Nick from your testing of the soil looks like you have respectable moisture where you put down some winter wheat seeds. That is a good sign for a good year. Let’s hope it continues!!!!!!!!"
Getting your augers ready to go. Getting ready for spring field work-yeah!!!!!!!’
Big Buds are ready to go for wheat seed to be put in the ground. Yeah!!!!
Plus a new muffler.
Thanks for everything Bob snd colby and patch and Scott and Nick.
You all take care and be safe. Prayers your way for continuing moisture for the crops.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve
😊👍🙏🙏✅🇺🇸
Well Scott walk tall and look the world right in the Eye, that poop will make the grass grow tall & green ,the kids will have a nice play field around the house to kick their heels up to play,I was starting to laugh, Old Kobi & Patch the Collie will have a wonderful roll in it to get all the perfume to make their coat look beautiful, I like the way you fellows use every good bit of scrap useful, I agree with Bob, I think we should go fishing, Well Scott you & Bob got the Pop leveled out just before it rained, Nick you got the Augers ready & Cleaned, seeding time is near, Fellows loved the video, Cheers & Best Wishes, God Bless you All, Trevor.W.Bacelli. Biloela Qld Australia.👍🐕🐎🦄🐂🐃🐄🐖🐗🐏🐑🐐🐨🐨🐨🐨🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘🦃🐔🐓🦋🌺🌺🌺🌺
My great grandfather planted some trees around our farm, to prohibit the farm from wind damage. We farm in a very high yield and hilly region, i am even thinking about planting tree rows in the field to stop the water erosion. We have water erosion categories where tilling is already limited by law, trees will actually help me to allow to till... I mean, i see the erosion, but limiting tilling by law is quite heavy for my understanding. In the old days, about 80 years ago, we had a ton of fruit trees here which were planted to prohibit the village from strong winds/stroms and also stop flooding and water erosion, sometimes i think we are to greedy by removing trees or hedges.
manure + grass is what you guys should do to the gypsum/hardpan spots you have in your fields, to build up some topsoil. don't mow it, just crimp it flat at the end of each year.
Bless the soil, O God, that it may support Your great gift of life. Bless all who work the soil, and care for it. The Gift of Water: God blesses us with water, and entrusts it to our care. Water gives sustenance and nourishment to the soil, the seed, and all life, with water in rain, rivers, ponds, lakes, and seas.
can i give you some beard advice.... if your growing it... get it trimmed now and again itll train the hair and wont be such a nightmare to style when you get it to the length your looking for.
Yall need a shirt with Legarms phrase, “Get It, Got It!!!
First time I’ve seen yard prep done with a 60’ tool!!
Who needs a yard tiller when you can use a bad a$$ big bud to till it
He is a blessed man that has a Big Bud for a lawn tractor.
I'm _so_ envious!
Most people just use garden tractors. But you got to have the right tool for job!!! Wow, you had the Deere out!! Nick, do you have to wait until the knob turns right side up to shift the Ford superduty? When Bob said he was going fishing, did he mean he was getting his koi fish ready for spring transplanting?
we were hauling manuer this weekend and we jamed the mauner spreeder hope you get rain have a good day.
Leg arms I am loving your laughter in the this and the last videos
no trees. no bushes, no landscape....you have a lot of work ahead of you heading into planting season !!!!
I love the smell of cold diesel exhaust. Always have.
So good to have more videos more often! I remember starting to watch you guys I reckon around 5 years ago now, “maybe”, then started watching Larsons and the millennial, grouse I also been observing that nice truck use got going on in the back ground 👌
I’d say you got it going on Legarms, having that manure in a mulch for a couple of years should have destroyed most of the weed seed, if not you guys have that covered with weed control and you should end up with a dandy lawn
Way to go, have a safe and successful spring!
That's the best time to plant grass seed put it on top of the snow it'll soak right in
Thanks guy's for all of the great content in y'all awesome video's = GOD BLESS Y'ALL FOR EVER.....
Old F-4 Shoe🇺🇸
You could of also mixed some peatmoss into your new lawn Legarms if you had access to any. Would hold the moisture in the root base helping it grow
I see the engine is in the new addition that's sitting in the shop!
Enjoy your Waggu beef.😊
Your lucky with 5 year TB Testing.
How close to you are the nearest deer
Scott, you were skirting in that Big Bud, and it sure makes quick work of getting that lawn ready for seeding.
I look forward to planting time, pray you get rain this year, and bountiful crops. I love how you work on the old equipment to get thing's done. I like watching all the different thing's you guy's do at Welker Farm's, and the home builds have been really great. You saved and waited a long time to build these dream home's, an inspiration for other's to take their time, and save as much as you can to have less debt.
G-d bless.
That sky is so beautiful.
Compost is the beast thing for a lawn, says Roger cook of Ask this old house. Don't forget to put a Startahhh Fertilizaah. Good luck with your lawn.
good to see scott n nick in the shop at the same time hope bob seen nick filled it with exhaust fluid after that
y fixed the exhaust lol
Love the video keep up the great work and be safe out in the fields
Big Bud with a mower attachment will be interesting....lol.
Get a few tons of Tree chips and mix on the manure and let it "age" and spread it next year, and till it in again. It takes time and repeated work to make good Topsoil. 4:57 bulk garden waste and organic wastes. And time.
Nothing wrong with Hobo Freight. I don't use them enough to break them and if I do, Chineseium tools are cheap. All the important ones are Craftsman and most of them were my dad's and grandfather's and are still going strong!
Thank you one and all at Welker farm. Love watching and learning. Praying for a bumper harvest year. Take care and God bless.
When are used to be a typewriter technician the simplest solution was always the easiest quick fix, which was the obvious ditto
Love the paint job on your truck!
wish i was out that way i have a kubota 1750b with 3 point tiller that would be great to get any tight small places for you
I'm ready to see the lake property again, It's been a while since Y'all were fixing it up.
The birds / mouse living (at one point) in the fertilizer auger must be kind of tough with all the chemical residues......
Welker lawn prep with the BigBud-- --interesting business model.....
it'll be composted up a fair bit. Good thing with being that broke down it ought not burn the grass as it comes up.
Looking forward to seeing the new truck.
🔥I agree, my fav tractors too, I’m going fishing lol. Well you deserve it Bob, cast away 😂. Nice exhaust update guyzz. Big bud lawn tractor that’s hawking awesome 🔥👊🔥🏍⚙️🔨🚜
Living the dream my friend❤
Cheers from NZ.
That's a decent sized yard tractor!
I’ve been praying you all have a great year
While I dont pray... I do hope you have far better season this year...
Good job guys
Guy's love the video it was very good ,
Something we do with shed stacking 9 times out of 10 things go back in same place and we get this solar powered battery tinders and we mount on roof drill whole for wire with wire protector and caulk whole shut and run down to batteries and works great equipment that sits for months starts right up like new batteries
Good stuff! Put it on the garden every year!
If you use a Big Bud as garden tractor, your garden must be big 😂😂
And I thought my 46" Toro Zero-Turn might be too much for my yard. 😂😂😂😂😂
the grey looks good.
Good to see some green paint!!
Get a boat tank with the pickup built in. 14:30
Really get into watching then all of a sudden it is over way too soon. Thanks for all the effort you put into producing these.
Don’t forget garden space lol 😊
You know you are in Montana when you use a Big Bud to do your yard work. Lol
Hoping for a good crop year for y'all
Great awesome video leg arms . Kinda over kill with the disk on the lawn lol .
You should put a separate hose on your non ethanol gas tank.
Now that's a lawn tractor
I bet it came off the blue pete that doesn't have a motor in it....we see it in the background lol
The image of you Scot on the meme, looks as though you're standing next to a landmine detonation with the bushes looking like the origin of the blast! Very clever if this was intentional, very lucky image if by accident. 😃
Looking at the old exhaust flex pipe. If yah' squint it's mint!
Composted manure is excellent for the soil and your yard.
With your endless wind; may want to look into getting a 'dead cat' fuzzy thing that prevents wind noise on mics.
Great video quality and drone footage; just need the audio to match for A+ production.
Agreed! Just ordered some gear to help fix the audio issues!
Use cow manure from dairy farm on the Corn Fields !!
We live nextdoor to a Milk Farm...😮
So they do this EVERY Spring and YES ot stinks...🤣🤣
Pray for rain !! 💙🤣💙🇱🇷💙🇱🇷💙😎😎😎😎🇱🇷🤣🤣
That's one heck of a garden tractor 😂
The smell of manure is actually not bad,,You get use to it within a day or two,,And fresh manure has a sweet smell that's actually nice,,
You should do this with all of your land!
I see you got a lot there horse crap take a few totes fill them up with the horse crap water pump them up through a sprinkler and fertilizes your gardens and your grass. Let it sit in the totes with water for about 48 hours and then you can just run water through it and fertilizing, especially new lawn or garden we have done that every year for ours
Nick " We can't tell you what it came off of...yet" Hmm I wonder what that freshly painted 3406 cat motor is for. Wait did I see the hood to something blue sitting behind the 9370? Of and that something blue now has a black decal on it hmmmm. Can't wait to see the restoration. Only reason I found you guys was because of the 9370 rebuild
You folks need a good year to make up for last 2 or 3
I pray this is your year
Good to see the 4520 again
Finally some Bud sound/action. That took a long time to hear that. And then you did roll with the (deer) Yeah perhaps a brand to look a little closer to. Oops.:(
