Don't be ashamed bro. I'm Mexican with some indigenous blood and I don't speak Nahuatl. Think of it like this. Nahuatl has been spoken in Mexico for several thousand years while Spanish has only been spoken there for like 500 years. So on the contrary, you should be proud to be a native Nahuatl speaker. I truly envy you.

This is a really good format for your lessons. I hope to see more content like this. I’ve studied Korean, German, and Spanish throughout my life, so I can see Nahuatl being relatively easy to learn with this style of teaching. Also to put the grammar explanation simply 25:20 Nahuatl doesn’t have “definite articles” (The) nor indefinite articles (A/ An). Also there are no auxiliary (helping) verbs (is / are eating, etc). Very similar to Korean or Japanese.

recently ive been trying to connect with my native roots, i dont even know what tribe my family comes from since we are so disconnected from it. but i thought if i cant figure out specifically, i could at least try to reconnect with what most mexicans are familiar with, nahuatl. thank you very much for your lessons! i look forward to learning more from your videos!

I think thats a good idea, nahuatl was a general language then and it can be once again, not all of us can relearn our original language or reconnect so nahuatl is a great space for reconnecting

@Lewis C tbh I’m not sure. My mom told me she was born in Agua Buena but I don’t think they’re originally from there. They moved after a few years to Matamoros and that’s where most of them stayed.

A person I follow on Twitter recommended your channel to me (I asked how to pronounce Nahuatl). I absolutely love how you start with small concrete examples and build from there.

I'm very grateful of putting a warning on the differences in nahuatl language because it's it's going to differ strontgly depending on the region and even touching or admideattly off other varieties when it's actually other of the spoken language but still going to change if we're talking about the pur'hepechan sound or the chontal sound combination. Although they're really good

You are a very good teacher. I don’t know if you’re an educator in any way, other than this channel, lol, but if not, you should consider it. The way you teach is very clear, and the visual aids are so helpful. You seem like you’d have a lot of patience with students of any age. I really enjoyed this video and have subscribed. I’m reading a booking about the ancient cultures in the Mosquitia region of Honduras specifically, and all ancient Mesoamerican cultures in general. I had a question while reading, and googled my question, which led me to youtube. Your channel caught my eye and I’m glad I clicked on it. Thanks for the lesson, and I hope to continue them with you!
