In effect, that is what I meant. The wires on the old boards were much thicker leading to a reduced target size and many more bounce-outs. The trebles on Unicorn boards DO appear bigger than those of other makes - What do other readers think?
those bigger wires only made things look smaller, when in reality all the smaller wires of today do is give you less bounceouts, hitting the bigger wire back then could actually drive a wayward dart into the treble whereas today it would miss the treble, there are pros and cons of thicker wires and the reduction of bounceouts is a better thing which leads to much cleaner scoring
the trebles are the same size the wires are thinner now, it only stops bounceouts but the target area is the same as round wires = the dart will deflect INTO the treble whereas the thin wires its either IN or OUT.
highjim it’s literally written on the unicorn packaging “increased scoring areas”. The HD2 board has a 14% increase in target area around the bullseye from the HD 1.
IV still got a dartboard in garage at my dad's and the only thing different is the wiring is thinner and it is set in to the board not layed on top. But the size of scoring segments are exactly the same size..
Fair play to Burnett. He had a right go and there can never be any shame losing to the greatest ever. The Prince Of Wales
Too bad Burnett became a cokehead and ruined his career.
@@therainmakerinsider At least he never got done for a serious sexual assault against a 17 year old girl in a caravan like filthy Phill
@@ewanmacfarlane9195 Rubbish.
The late Phil Jones is the MC for this match
The best

"bristow used to pick pockets, this guy mugs ya!"
agree the trebles were smaller !! every dart player knows that!!
Didn’t here waddle compliment Burnett once always for Taylor
As good as he was, Sid Waddell’s fandom of Taylor often bordered on sycophancy
Roly poly Taylor
Not sure why this was billed as "Battle of the Champions" since Burnett was not the BDO champ in 1997...
he was in 1995

Trebles are actually bigger now
one word ..... master...
Like a rave at the beginning
Look how much smaller the trebles were then - much harder than today.

@@mccann82 The trebles are the same size. The wires are just thinner, hence the increased scoring area. Winmau packaging makes the same boast.
Flavius Constantius I know? Thinner wires means the target area is more exposed therefore bigger.
taylor looks like 1 of the weather girls
The checkout lady from Safeways 😂🤣
Was this Richie Burnett's Sky Sports debut?
yes
What was the song Ritchie Burnett used during his walk on?
Deacon blue - wages day
Absolute nonsens... the trebles had the same measurements, the wires are smaller!
