There were entire sections of gameplay where shuton was cooking Light with Pyra ALONE. Dude is the best Aegis 100%, and this MU is NOT losing. Sparg0 just isn't as good as cosmos and Shuton at it
It’s all sorts of impressive. Pyra normally isn’t able to do much of anything against Fox considering just how fast his mobility and frame data is. The fact that Shuton was making it work is insane. Also yeah, Fox def isn’t a losing matchup for Aegis. I think it’s even, personally
I loveee Shuton's recoveries using hitboxes to protect himself, control air drift, swapping characters, mixing in airdodges. He's a master of this character and I think a major tournament win is coming soon.
@@armakeen3576 sisqui Aaron lima kameme tea He also has 2 dubs on sparg0 tho their first set was all the way back in prime saga He’s also dominated EU to the point where only 3 players had beaten him
Doesn't get a lot closer than this. Went the distance with all one-stocks, no player was ever up by more than a game, etc. Then Shuton played another close five-game set with Jakal, which he also won -- so by the time he got to Zomba in the next round, maybe he was somewhat running out of gas?
What’s the trick to consistently getting fox drag down fair? I can’t ever seem to get it on command, when I fast fall the last hit hardly ever cancels and they get knocked back too far for a jab lock or smash attack.
To be honest I feel like Light was underestimating Shuton. He was quite overly eager with certain kills. Honestly the aegies character is very very mistake friendly.
Friendly reminder that Fox has 0 kill throws, 0 spammable projectiles, 0 counters, 0 charge shots/punches, 0 invincibility attacks (G&W), 0 spikes, 0 kill uptilts and 0 dlc hectic bs such as wings, slowing down time or arsen....Fox is the ONLY character in Smash Bros. Who has to WORK for his wins and the fact that he's still a top tier makes him the best character in Smash. This is also why I think light is the best fighter in these tournaments and not mkleo or spargo etc. *edit; Keep in mind Fox was nerfed with his Reflector bcuz it's not as fast and he falls immediately after 1 shine stall AND his Fox Illusion gets stopped by shields...
Yeah a big thing to consider for fox mains is gassing out in bracket. Riddles even said you need to have a lot of energy to play him because he always has to be go go go to win
Is it just me, or was light playing really bad here. It seemed like Light was playing really slow and clogged up, like his mind was not working quick enough. He didn't have that top-player smooth movement but more like a rusted gear moving or some such. I'm unsure if it was Light who was playing worse, which I wouldn't blame bc of a top-tier Aegis player lol, or if I'm just getting better at dissecting and understanding the game Edit: I just saw Light's missed tech at 17:10 and if baffled me, I think that definitely confirms his mind was somewhere else
Fox is an S tier..? He’s ranked 5th out of 82 on the official tier list and was always perceived as a top tier. Unless you have solid evidence saying otherwise
And if you bring up his weight, his recovery or his throws. Those aren’t good excuses. When he has safe and fast kill options. Ridiculous speed and probably the best overall pressure in the game. Along with an ability to force approaches.
13:03 was one of my fav plays of the whole tournament. Sad for Light but good shit to Shuton, definitely deserved
Pyra is a sil*y woman with a low quality moveset, nothing to be proud of

I agreed with shuton being the best Aegis but Spargo is better than Cosmos with Aegis.
@@espada4918 I'm talking about the matchup, not as Aegis mains. That was only Shuton

Regarding spargo and shuton normally if this were 2021 you would’ve been dead wrong, now tho it’s as clear as day
Cosmos is very hit and miss lol. Can’t agree with you on that one but his Aegis might be better than Leo’s
The forward smash at 17:25 almost ended. The combo that led to it was perfect. If he held it for 1 second longer it was over.

Lights bracket demon coming back to haunt him
He’s now down 1-5 vs shuton or 6 if you count tr4sh
@@BannedfromOUin5secs I feel like Shuton is many top players' bracket demon (I can think of at least Mkleo, Glutonny & Light)

Why would he? Knowing he’s 1-5 against Shuton 😂

I’d love to see light play melee fox

light has to be the best smash player, because fox is one of the worst characters and he still manages to compete with professional s tiers.
