- By popular demand I have done an edit showing how to make my 30m Baiting Pole, this is the final version and the video shows the adaptations I have done over the last 2 years. And you'll find out at the end how much (or how little) it will cost to make....
All the items required (except for an old bank stick or similar!!) can be found using these links:

For anyone trying this project, I have found a nice way of making the spigot connection. I used the 25mm black conduit from toolstation and cut in half to 1.5m sections. I then used the black floplast "Overflow" pipe. The overflow doesn't quite fit into the 25mm conduit, but you can carefully heat the 25mm with a heat gun, and then insert the overflow in slowly, to create a nice smooth fitting spigot joint. You can do this to all the ends, and solvent weld the overflow pipe in. No duct tape or glue needed. Then continue as normal with the foam and spring clips.

you can get waste pipe that is 21.5mm that fits perfectly without the need for tape. check first though because some 25mm conduit has a smaller internal diameter. Screwfix fit OK I think. instead of messy expanding foam, just get some 22mm wine corks and fit one in each end. they are £6 for 36 corks

Awesome mate . Loving your videos keep up the good work buddy
Thanks Alan 👍
Must be a nice feeling catching on something you’ve made mate.
It sure is Sean ! 👍
When Paul says to use a heatgun will this permantly flare the pipe and use floplast solvent to weld the spigot on 1 end? Have you tried pushing wine corks in? I have a ton in a bag that are 22mm I once bought in a charity shop. Will they shift easily in as they will need to go in up to 6 inch looking at your video with the revised spigot size.
Hi, I can't comment on this as I have not tried, I suggest to buy a section of pipe to experiment with.
I'll report back my findings.
22mm corks go in stiff (which you want) and pushed into position with a mallet and a screwdriver marked to the depth the spigot will go. Using a heat gun I pushed in 1 side 12.5 cm deep and the outer pipe shrunk back which was a nice side effect. I decided to stick out 7cm for the spicot clip hole bit as 12.5cm would become problematic keeping flared. I did 1 test flare and it is workable. I hope to have this done coming week and test over the weekend.
25mm Conduit pipe and 21.5mm overflow pipe from toolstation. Got clips from amazon will recommend when tested.
To be continued...
flaring was a bit hit and miss with keeping it flared but I managed to flare 8 1.5 meter pipes and used pipe clips from amazon, 6mm diameter pin, 10mm long £4.99 for 8. I used a trakker spoon and float (£25 total, previously cygnet baiting pole stuff).
Took it out for a test run on my local pond. It took me 50 minutes before I was fishing with 2 rods. Couldn't keep the 1st one in. Run after run as I was fishing a tricky bush you can't cast to. I'm waiting for the rowrunner (its in the post) and yes its needed. Line was falling of my reel which was a bit annoying. 6 takes in 3 hours , had a few hook pulls unfortunately, landed 2. I'm happy with the session, learned loads.
Use 24mm wine corks to make the sections float. That foam is horrible!
Sorry 22mm corks!
If you can find the hollow noodles, with a hole through the middle, they can be used to add extra float to the end of the pole
Agreed, that's what I've used and it works perfectly
Hollow noodle's??? What are they please
@@leeparker5827pool noodles, you see them all the time on holiday, kids in the pool with them. Or, use pipe insulation. Just make sure you secure it with some cable ties, job done.
