I honestly thought it was about him trying to leave his toxic and abusive relationships but getting caught in it again. He hated those girls in the Tell Ya mv because there was no communication, they made excuses and hurt him and so he wanted to leave. But then he gets caught in another one and falls in love with another abusive girl and Crush is like the side of him that’s telling him “Oh it’s okay, I love her so much everything will be fine”. Then the girls jamming out in the car next to him are the good girls who wouldn’t treat him like that but he8s so caught up with his current girlfriend he pays no attention to them. And throughout the whole Darling song he seems so in love, trying to find ‘the one’. I don’t know haha just theories but it’s probably not that deep. I’m two months late too
