Have you already transplanted your seedlings? If you're ahead of the game and looking to strengthen your plants before they go in the ground and prevent them from getting leggy, then have you considered a walk-in greenhouse? Check out my review video here: ua-cam.com/video/EMdP0gJ_0ag/v-deo.html. Happy Gardening!
"Purpling" of the stems can also be perfectly normal for chilis. Not all varieties do that, but many of them just naturally look like that under good conditions.
Hi Alex need a bit of advice.Several weeks ago I started some freesias I did Blue / White and mixed only the Blue ones have come up .They are all new bulbs from the same place .Do you think the others may come up .Thank you x
Hi Terry, hope you're well and the cucumbers have finally germinated. I'm not a massive flower guy but I could imagine one colour coming up later, especially in broader families of plants. I'd be surprised if a bulb sold in a shop that didn't obviously look different to the others (i.e. rotted, mouldy) was a dud --- but I've really not got much experience sadly. I suspect being patient is the way forward here, as if often the case in gardening, but perhaps the retailer can provide more information such as the variety for each colour and that might help diagnose any issue
I see that you have a globe artichoke seedling do you have any tips on growing artichokes or can you do a video on growing artichokes. I have been watching all the videos on UA-cam and I have not had luck with trying to grow artichokes for two years now 😊
Hi Pam, thanks for watching again. You know this is my first year growing globe artichoke - I just happened to have two plants at different ages to hand. So far I've figured out that they really hate drying out and from what I've read you've got to go early for a same year harvest. I'll add globe artichokes to my list but it won't be anytime soon sadly. Monty Don covered it a few years ago, it looks like it's on this page www.gardenersworld.com/how-to/grow-plants/how-to-plant-globe-artichokes/, that'll have to do for now
Thank you so much. I like your video I’m going to keep watching I subscribed to your channel I live in the states in New Orleans I think that we have similar weather to you guys in the UK
I suspect you might have it a little warmer with an earlier last frost but on the whole we'll probably end up growing similar stuff. You might have more luck over wintering peppers & eggplants though

Hey Alex, new sub. I love your approach. You are informative, calming and after a tough day at work, just what I needed.
Wow. Thanks Chris!
Wonderful information, thank you!
Thank you!
I'm just starting a mini greenhouse and come across you and your channel and learning so much while enjoying your channel (Subscribed)~😊
Good luck, the mini-greenhouses are great fun and remarkably good this time of year. Hope you enjoy the upcoming videos and happy gardening!
