    The young man in this video looks like he has a bright future ahead of him. I wish careers in the skilled labor industries were pushed more in school. Too many people getting fat and lazy in front of a screen to make a family supporting wage now days. Keep the welding videos coming.

    You are a great welder! Here in Brazil little welding services are seen in pipe lines.

    That must be some of that 8045 downhill low hydrogen rod it runs amazing a lot better than the 10 series cellulose rods to much of a change of hydrogen cracking

      Pipewelder for 15 years power plants mostly. Got board bought a rig went downhill for 6 yrs. only low hi was In service / live line work. Hate to sound stupid but never ran a dedicated lo hy downhill. I ran a bunch of illegal 7018 downhill running from the puddle. Maybe something new? I’ve haven’t had a paying gig in 2 years, I got a sugar mama Com’on. I’ll check out an 8045 I think the post said. I wondered why you showed the rod heater for downhill. And why you weren’t dragging a 5mm fill & cap. I thought maybe 750 wall or larger was reason for 2 bead cap. Great vids man makes me miss the smell of burning cellulose in the morning. Never too old to learn.

    Super great video! When using your 6010 5p downhill can you drag the rod on the root? Or a minor oscillating movement? Thanks.

    Why they use the down hill?
    Is the up hill recommended in the big sizes of pipes?

      It's usually something along the lines of 6010 for the root and 7018 or 8018.

    Y porque cordones solamente decendente?? . No conocen los cordones acendentes , que debiera ser intercalados, El cordon de presentacion deja mucho que desear. Creo que ese trabajo no pasaria una calificacion ni menos una prueba de rayos .

    Why do pipeline welders not use auto-darkening helmets?

    • @Leb.ertarian
      @Leb.ertarian 6 років тому +1

      are you asking like a hood like the boxy ones with auto darkening or the auto darkening lens?
      If you're asking about not using a boxy/square one is because those aren't the best for all position welding such as over head. the protection isn't the greatest.
      If you're asking about why not using an auto darkening lens, it could be because of preference or because they get flashed on the root because of the arc being buried in the joint causing the lens to flicker.

    • @BrewPub
      @BrewPub 6 років тому

      The regular auto-darkening helmets that welders use indoors. The auto-darkening lens is designed for the helmet.

    • @kf8575
      @kf8575 3 роки тому

      A passive lense can't fail. An auto lense can.
      Lense gives up on you at lunchtime, your stuck the rest of the day.
      They flicker when welding root passes too.
      Cant stand the things myself
