- Video game collecting is a lot of fun. A feature of game collecting is displaying that collection and accenting it with artwork. While there are video game inspired prints, it does get difficult to find unique pieces of art to display in your collection that also fits your aesthetic.
Grid Studio is a boutique company that uses broken electronics to create unique artwork to suit your style. But they are expensive. Are they worth it? Check out my video and see for yourself.
They sell a variety of different pieces ranging from Apple iPhones to Nintendo Gameboys.

I keep seeing these pop up but had no idea they were so expensive. I feel like I could just easily make this myself using parts from my spares bin and a printer for next to nothing. Neat idea but that price is just nuts.
I got one of those too. I'm happy with it, not too picky. Nostalgia is almost priceless to me. I also picked up the NES controller one. Pretty cool as well...
They did inspire me to make my own that's unique. Just need to acquire the parts
That was the first I saw from GRID that caught my interest.. Then I noticed the price. That is more than the 7 I have bought throughout my lifetime (including the one I paid for as a kid).
I can say it is a quirky end product, but not for me.
yeah it's really hard to justify the price. They are really appealing to a very niche market.
I’d like it if they sold printed backgrounds that you could use so you can make your own
yeah that would be pretty cool. But with all the etsy people I think they would have their market saturated
@@SuperNicktendo I need to check Etsy then, my broken PSP needs some love
So basically get some broken original parts + cheap Chinese clones, plastic and mdf and... No, thanks.
Do they let you customize what game is shown in the screen?
They do not - but that would be really cool to see in the future to really make it unique.
Is it me or is the mother board crooked in the case. 😲
That doesn’t look like a genuine DMG motherboard to me. All the chips are glob tops.
That intrigued me so I opened up my original DMG and there are chips, but when I opened my play it loud DMG there were glob tops. So looks like this was a play it loud.
@@SuperNicktendo Nice. I learned something new today for sure. I did recently mess with my childhood DMG the other week and when I saw this one it just stood out to me.
@@JaimeGonzalez-od4db yeah honestly I didn't think anything of it until you mentioned it. I learned something too ^.^
The price and quality are terrible. Many people have gotten ones that are disgustingly dirty...
I can't speak to that aspect of it as mine arrived with no issues. But yeah for the price they should be arriving as pristine as possible.
