Ever dreamed of creating a bold, eye-catching pop art movie poster for your short film? In this tutorial, I'm taking you step-by-step through the process using Photoshop and Optics by Boris FX to achieve that iconic, halftone style.
We'll dive into photo manipulation, explore vibrant colors, and master the halftone effect that defines pop art. Even if you're working with lower-resolution images (or video screen captures), this style works great.
As a bonus, I'm also showing you you can get a very similar effect without Optics, using the built in halftone effect in Photoshop. It isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than what you get "out-of-the-box."
