I wanna let you know, all you guys. I bought an Eastman guitar from this Store and they are the best. The guitar was impeccable, exelente set up, packed very well, shipped really quickly and costumer service second of none. I am very pleased with my Eastman E 1D-CLAS.
Thoroughly impressed by these new E20's with the torrified top. You can clearly hear the distinct difference even over UA-cam. I'm seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on one of these bad boys from a shop that is relatively local to me.
These guitars are agreed by for the money and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. You should definitely support and check out any local music shop that carries those guitar but if you can’t find one in your area, please know that we offer a FaceTime calling and you can virtually visit our store simply by FaceTime 954-566-8141. Also, we offer free shipping and no sales tax when shipped outside of Florida. Thank you for your feedback! 😊
What would be cool is to test the thermal cured (torrified) Eastman E20D-TC against an older E20D that has been played long enough to open up naturally to see if there is a difference and which one sounds best.
The TC sounds brighter and thinner with less warmth and less desirable tone. The Standard E20D has a more rich, fuller warmer tone with more bottom end/bass...I prefer the non TC sound/tone. I know two who have had both an both ended up selling the TC and keeping the non TC.
The standard has a bigger low end, and sounds tighter and more focused with more punch. The TC sounds smoother and more open with a buttery shimmer. They're both very nice.
I'm curious as to what Penny Lane thinks about the low end. I couldn't hear the comparison on the low end sustain. I currently have a Taylor 214 KOA and haven't been pleased with the low end sound. From reading, KOA is a more balanced tone. I'm looking for something with a more full bottom end sound that can provide good sustain on the low E string. My Taylor does not hold the low end sustain very well. It's really noticeable on a standard open 'G' chord.
@@keithhunter3910 I see the difference between the two are the E6d has solid mahogany sides/back and the E8d is rosewood. Is this a significant difference, other than +$300? BTW, it looks like Eastman only offers the TC versions now.
@@bcain5823 The non TC models are still out there, but there is a big torrefied push right now. I have owned a 6D, 10D, 20D, and 10SS...all non-torrefied. If I was going to buy one now, I'd buy a 6D or 8D. To my ear, Eastmen are bright and crisp enough as it is. I like the added warmth and roundness from the Sitka top. Hi there. We do not rate instruments but as far as personal preference I tend to gravitate towards the Eastmans. The sound is very similar between the two. The appointments however meet my taste better.
I definitely hear a noticeable difference between them, however, I found I liked both. TC seems to have a crispness to it not found in the other, but the other seem to be a little more punchy
Preferred the non-torrified top to be honest - seems to have more weight to the bass, and a bit more air/sparkle in highs. The TC to me has emphasized high-mids, but seems a bit drier/flatter sounding, not as much life to the sound. But just my take haha.
By the time the natural wood top is aged 3 yrs it will sound as good as TC when it is 5 yrs naturally aged it will sound better then TC. TC does not equal natural aging and if you own or have played guitars that have aged over 20 yrs they sound better then horrified tops. With a new torrified top guitar it will still take many years for the back and sides to get natural aged resonance.

Perfect analysis of this video.
I had an Eastman E20D And it didn't sound quite right for an Adirondack top, I bought it used and it didn't seem like it had opened up yet either.

@@bcain5823 If you like dreadnoughts, find an E6d or E8D (TC or standard). That will give you all the bass response you need and not break bank.

standard was bassier?
Nope
There’s,to my ears, a clear difference.
Did you sell the eastman TC?
We sold three of them last week. Only one left

Alex Doucet shipping to Canada is not too expensive. You’re looking at about $50-60 extra
