I'm no "master craftsman", but I did a better job sharpening my cheap ass $8 paring knife. I saw slight improvement after stropping the Zwilling paring knife with 3 micron diamond paste on balsa wood, 1 micron diamond paste on leather and then naked leather. After all that work, it still doesn't slice receipts like my $8 knife. I was going to buy the Zwilling cleaver, but I'm not so sure anymore.

Maybe what you should do is build knives then since you're $8 knives are the shit.
