  • After six long weeks, it’s the final day of campaigning in the general election.
The Tories have, at the very last minute, deployed Boris Johnson at a rally in London. Is he an asset to Rishi Sunak’s campaign, or a reminder of the very reason they’re on the verge of electoral oblivion? Kamal is joined in this episode by the Sunday Telegraph’s Political Editor Camilla Turner to pour over Johnson’s surprise intervention and ask whether it will make any difference.
Plus, Sir Anthony Seldon - biographer of every prime minister since John Major - reveals why he believes the Tories will lose and warns them there is only one route to salvation...

Boris was obviously promised a Knighthood to appear to talk on behalf of the party that abandoned him and betrayed him. If there wasn´t something in it for Boris he would have stayed on holiday.

Fantastic Telegraph T episode, I'm just suspicious, that maybe those who are in the middle will vote all for the labour to be winners. There are different personalities, some may prefer to fight so will vote Tories, regardless of the aftermath and the resume Conservatives have created.

Told by who? Expect Labour Party wipeout. Voters are optimistic on Sunak who has halved inflation. Starmer wants to increase tax, inflation will be to square one. Starmer won't win GE over Sunak. Voters don't love Starmer and ballot box is bad for Labour tomorrow. Labour wipeout worse than 1832. Starmer is evasive. We don't want Part-time Prime Minister unelectable Starmer. We want stay up Prime Minister Sunak not Snow through Starmer. On Friday Starmer will resign after Labour wipeout. Wait till polling Station opens tomorrow. Labour won't win GE

Farage made it quite clear he does not admire Putin, and he has totally condemned Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
What he did say was that the actions of the West in Europe over the years, particularly in regard to EU/NATO expansion, provided an excuse for Putin to invade. Not that there was any valid excuse of course (and Farage didn't say there was) - just that it would be used as an excuse in the mind of Putin (not in our minds obviously) to do what he did.
This is a view shared by various historians, political leaders and diplomats. People may decide to disagree with it but it's not some crazy conspiracy theory that Farage just cooked up.
Of course the mainstream media, usually obsessed with pushing only their own narrative, immediately jumped on Farage accusing him of being a Putin apologist. And because most of the UK public doesn't have much knowledge of events in Europe leading up to the invasion of Ukraine, they would have been unused to hearing such a point of view being aired on TV.
The slight downturn in support of Reform as a result was unfortunate, but just showed to highlight the superficiality of much modern debate, particularly in the mainstream media.
    I'm voting Reform tomorrow.

The main problem now facing the Conservative Party is that they are perceived as a 'pro Population Replacement' political party, just like the Labour and Liberal Democratic parties, the Reform Party is likely to replace the Conservative Party from the right. Electoral reality is that the three main parties are competing for votes from the chunk of the population who support, or do not care about 'Population Replacement', whereas the Reform Party is the only choice for the voters who care about 'Population Replacement'.
