    There was nothing like the super refined delicious treats @ Japanese cafes, ..... in NYC .... back in the 1970's 1980's! The most delicious, refined to perfection ..... treat was red bean dessert! ..... So miss that treat! .... 🥢🍶🍜💞

    Wooow they're so pretty and perfect looking. And Japan looks so gorgeous right now too I wish I could be there. Today is a nice day in the US but I heard this weekend the temperature will be back down to 30F or so.

    I bought Yokan from Daiso and both me and my youngest son have fallen in love with it! They have since stopped selling it so I am glad now I know how to make it so easily.

    YOKAN!!! I love it! Usually I put a slice sweeten chestnuts before it firm up.

      i think that one is more dense and thick one, right?! this one (Mizu Yokan) is very juicy like jelly :)

    Never tried yokan before, lucky i have all the ingredients at home! I shall go make it tonight or tomorrow for my family. My mom and I like red bean. Thank you for video :)

    I am hungry for Mizu-Yokan now. Thank you for the recipe. I like Mizu-Yokan better than regular Yokan because it has mild flavor. The Sakura trees are so beautiful. I miss Japan!

      i wish i can, but video shooting or photo shooting is strictly banned at most stores in japan X( i wonder how other people do that. maybe they just ignore the rules. haha

    So beautiful!! It must be so beautiful to wake up and go out and see Sakura trees in full bloom. Which is why I always make a trip to Washington D.C Everytime the Sakura trees bloom there ^_^ excited to go and take pictures again in 2 weeks! Oh and I love the background music you used! ^_^

    +jessica leung yes! you can substitute agar-agar with gelatin :) the texture will be smoother.

    Ah, I wish I could find azuki paste in the US! It's very hard to find here...but I love it so much, and this looks so good. Thanks for showing is such a pretty neighborhood too!

    this recipe turned out beautifully! just let it firm up for a day in the refrigerator and they are perfectly soft and creamy. does anyone know how i could get a firmer yokan?

    I was only able to find blocks of dried agar agar at my grocery store. It's not very dense, sort of like a dried sponge? Do you know how much I should use in proportion to red beat paste?

    Hello! Does the azuki bean paste already have sugar in it, or can you add your own to make it sweeter?

      It's made by basically adding sugar to softened beans and stirring it till it makes a paste, and then adding more sugar XD It is plenty sweet as is.
