My takeaway is I want to do a puzzle and listen to Christmas audiobooks in the wee hours of the morning. Despite how hard this challenge was, it delivered on the cozy holiday vibes. 🎄
Hey Lottie! I just finished the most wonderful crime of the year. It was a five stars. It was such an underrated book. I didn’t think I would like it. Anyway, I’m glad you liked it. 🎄🎄🎄
I think The Hotel Bookclub is definitely a "right book right time " kind of book. I turned 40 this year and have my "midlife" crisis. Questioning if this is all life is and such. These women were also 39-40 going through changes in life and it was great for me. I think if Hattie would have been the MAIN character with more story like it would have helped with the younger readers for sure.
I am very impressed by your dedication to Bookmas!! This was oddly relaxing to watch, especially that puzzle finish. Wish you had found more you like - Holiday Romance was my favorite last year so I hope you give that one a chance! Agree romance on audio can be a bit ick 😂🎄
I’m so impressed. I think I would have fallen asleep at least 8 times! I have the hardest time staying awake while reading! I maybe make it 20-30 min and then my body is like oooo nap time!

🎄I'm a recent subbie and I love the vibe of your videos. Hey can you tell me when you are showing on screen the words advancing on your kindle, what is that? Is that audible paired with kindle? Also, when you have your earphones or earbuds in, is it music, or always the book being read to you? I'm just trying to get a reading routine going - would love a video about fitting reading into daily life. Thanks!
Definitely read the Catherine Walsh Christmas novels. They have been some of my favorites this year. I read Small Things Like These every year at Christmas time.
I agree about the Catherine Walsh Christmas novels. I read both in the series and they were wonderful. #1 Holiday Romance #2 Snowed In and I would say I was glad I read them in order because book 2 made more sense that way.
I totally agree about The Christmas Tree Farm, it is quite mind numbing and I kinda felt nothing for the story and the characters too 😬😂 Loved your criticisms of it, haha made me chuckle. Hoping you can push yourself to DNF more in 2025, for books like this haha! And I didn’t even catch the reference to Lover, what kind of Swiftie even am I… Really want to read The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year and The Book Club Hotel! Also just loving the cozy Christmas vibes in this video and the puzzle ❤️🎄
@@LottieSmalley true true but i think finding a new book series that you can fall in love with and disappear into is just superior!! i just started serpent and the wings of night and i reeeeally hope it's gonna be it for me!😩
I really enjoyed The Dream Harbor series. Yes, they were cutesy and lacked intriguing plot but, they were cute. A fun little set to read during holiday down time.
I just finished The Christmas Tree Farm yesterday too and this was by far my least favorite. At least I just purchase them on kindle cuz they’re only 5 dollars, but I found the characters love story so boring and the dialogue was so cringe. I’m listening to The Most Wonderful Crime of Year and been loving it so far I feel like everyone is reading it right now it’s well worth the hype. And I want to read Cruel Winter With You because I’ve heard that’s the only one that’s decent. Good job staying up the full 24 hours!
Love your videos and are you going to do a video talking about your favorite books of 2024 or end of the year book tag. You should read LoveLight Farms by B.K. Borison
I tried reading Christmas books for December and was pretty underwhelmed by them…maybe not my jam! 😉 I started with the same book you did…found the fmc pretty unlikable !
I found all three of the Dream Harbor series books to be pretty bad and I DFD’d the last and worst one, Christmas Tree Farm. They sound cute, but there’s no substance. If you’re interested in a literary fiction Christmas book that is truly excellent, try Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan (2021).
❤❤ I've been LOVING booktube lately. Love reading marathons.
