Well you caught a few shrimp but honestly ive never seen a cull box worked like that before , normally you get the bi catch off the boat first and then collect your shrimp in your baskets but its a first for me to see . Good luck man .

I seen a captain take a devil fish threw the top of his boot and out the bottom had do rush him off the boat to land my outboard catfish is one thing but I highly recommend watching yourself around these wicked sting rays

That's a really cool video that you made. You make it look easy, even after all that hard work you put into it. I would of never thought of catching your own shrimp. After watching your video, I don't even own a boat but now I want one along with the same nets for me to catch my own shrimp. I LOVE SHRIMP.

@@bayoubanditchartersI am another small boat shrimper. Tie a bouy with 20 ft or so of rope to the fish excluder or fish eye and clip an anchor and bouy to the clips that attach to the boat. Go against the current and unhook from the boat. Then you can spin around and pull up the bag end from the fish excluder without having to pull up the doors every time. The current will keep the net stretched out and anchor and net will hold the boat while you sort. Then all you have to do is ride back to the front grab the anchor and clip back in. No ropes that can get tangled or doors that can flip. Can shrimp all day and not pull heavy doors up but once. I also hang the doors on either side of my polling platform to make it easier dropping them in. I only pull a 25 ft net.
I shrimp around Bear Point Marina at Orange Beach and the Dolphins are terrible they make all kinds of holes in the net and the Dolphin tours boat's are always bothering the shrimpers
We had the same problem. Not much we could do about the dolphins but the dolphin tours don't run late in the evening and into the night. So we started doing that instead.
omg....all those perfect sized bait croakers going over the side....Im ill.
Wish I could catch croakers that small, we cant drag like that in Florida. All the croakers are too big. But, Ive still caught trout on 8-10" croakers. The Gulf is where its at!! Im over the Atlantic. I wanted to do with kids, for a few hrs. But not allowed to do for hire, either. From what I understand. Really sux.

Are there no requirement for a turtle extruder device with a pull behind boat trawl this size? I'm not familiar with purposely letting the bycatch die, it would have been super easy to remove it from the tub first and then pick your taco shrimp.
With a recreational shrimping license your net can’t exceed 16’ and is not required to have a turtle extruded device. It’s common practice if you have more shrimp than by catch to pick out by catch first. If you have more by catch than shrimp, pick shrimp out first. Only about 20-25% of the by catch will die and will get eaten by Dauphin, other fish, or crabs.
if i booked a flounder trip with you could i pay you a little extra to to take me shrimping before we went. I’ve always wanted to learn how but i’ve never been able to!
