In spite of the cultural appropriation controversies, I really enjoyed this segment. We got to see many people who got to share their culture in an international stage, many of whom are virtually unknown to the world. This is by far the most diverse segment in all of figure skating and it's a shame it got tarnished because of a few people who were unable to recognise their own limits.

D/W's OD was fantastic no doubt but compared to V/M they don't skate as closely together, their edges are a shorter and choppier, their handholds aren't as soft and fluid, and they don't pay as close attention to their free legs (although they've improved upon that in recent years). And I thought V/M's choreography was more demanding and challenging. Yes the flamenco has done many times before but the judges have to rewards superior skating which they did.

I never said that Tessa and Scott didn't have good technique, but I'll stand by my comment about the originality of the Flamenco dance. It has been done over and over for many years while Bollywood was new and fresh. I was referring to the OD, not the entire competition. I'm not hating on T/S. DorEnErnil I remembered clearly in the gpf that I was entranced by their Bollywood program and from memory, I believed they skated better than v/m there. However, here i agree that it’s clear V/M out skated the field in the OD (and FD) even with my biases love for the novelty of Davis/White’s program considered. D/W also look a little more nervous too throughout the competition.

I'd like to see an "Irish dance" routine (outside of actual Irish dance, that is) NOT be completely inspired by Riverdance or Lord of the Dance. There's other Irish music and costumes could be solo dresses like those worn in competition. And you could do something like a 2-hand reel. It'd be great.

I felt so sorry for Penny and Nick. It was a lovely programme but not without flaws. In my opinion the scoring was rather harsh, but I think Penny's spin over Nick's shoulders may have been classed as an illegal move in ice dancing hence the low score.

excuse me but honoring the Figure Skating Code of Point, their performance was better than the Hungarian (no offence)

It was cringe-worthy. They were lucky that their superior skating skills were enough to sneak that hot mess past a judging panel. The real tragedy is that they're captured forever on video wearing those hideous outfits.

nightswimmer99 they were actually worse and were "toned down" just a day before!

It’s because of their skating skills and Russian politics that got them on the podium. Imo, the offensiveness of this od and then coupled with the scratchiness of their fd should’ve kept them off the podium imho

Maybe it's just me--but I found that final pose at 1:47:10 to be a bit intimate for a brother/sister duo. Again, maybe it's just me...

In ice dancing/skating, the relationship takes no precedence. It is a matter of fulfilling the program requirements, artistic requirements and overall performance. Choreographers have a lot to do with program.
