Although it’s definitely a stretch, Lando was the fastest driver out there in Miami on a track that shouldn’t suit the car according to McLaren. So although it’s probably not gonna happen I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened

Lando drove superbly in China as well. He is one of the best drivers in F1 at tyre management and that was part of the reason for his success.He was in the lead still on original tyres when all the leaders had chnaged theirs and driving away from the field with no intention of pitting when the safety car happened.

@@arranlargue6167 Hamilton was also quicker than Perez and couldn't get past. Also Lando was like 3 tenths faster than Oscar as soon as he had clean air

I'm from the Netherlands, but nobody believes that Max would win the championship with the Merc. The car is not good enough for that.

2nd Hot take - No, al least, not yet, Checo is doing very well, you have to remember, the car is built around Verstappen, they don't care about Checo as much.
3rd Hot take - Completely possible if Max has another bad race because of 'damage', certainly a contender if Red Bull don't build another dominant car.

There was no controversy around the safety car. He simply picked up Max instead of Lando and it was sorted. There was no additional advantage to lando for that error. The safety car helped Lando but that has happened hundreds of time in F1. Its part of the sport and for once Lando had good fortune. However it was calculated because of the speed of Lando and he already had a 9 sec buffer before the safetycar and was fastest he would not have finished lower than 2nd and would still have been in the hunt for the win. His car was the quickest in the race. The win was fully deserved.
I don’t understand the safety car controversy because if Max says he didn’t have Lando‘s pace, why does everyone else think they know better than him? Who is driving the car?
max looks to forget he lost 25 second by SC. normaly lando will have pited and come to far to win the race with less he pited under SC wich he missed. becuse the SC pic up the wrong driver( wich is not what rules tale us are ment to happen) lando was gifted 25 sec to do a overcut. there is no way to stat how insanly lucky lando got. if you dont pit asap under SC you kind screw you self like we saw with lewis sutch gp in 22. had SC pic lando as he was ment to do lando will never have won and may even problems to score point becues he missed the pit window.
