Would be nice to see a video targeting consumers in a smaller space such as an apartment, etc. I think that would do pretty well considering, from my experience, its harder to find equipment that would do well in smaller spaces.

I'm piecing together a custom rack from the vesta 2 in 1 with pieces from rep, BoS, and fringe. I have to say, the packaging and details like welds and powder coat on rep are next level. You don't need to spend rep/rogue prices, but there is a reason why their prices are what they are.

I just bought a Bells of Steel Hydra rack for about $1300, it was one of the few 3"x3" racks that had an 84" height option, without spending $4k. Hoping it gets delivered soon, although this snow storm probably put a damper on the delivery date of Friday.

I literally built my own home gym. Bought 2x3 .120 wall steel, drilled 5/8 west side spacing (almost 1000 holes 😖), welded it all together, used truck bed liner coating on it and made various attachments. Almost exact clone of rogue just deeper and wider. Materials only cost about $300

I bought the American Barbell Chewy powerbar on Black Friday and I must say it is absolutely the BEST bar I have ever held and used. The knurling is perfect for me. It feel fantastic. it’s ROUGH, DEEP, and feels soooooooo good to use.
I have a Rogue stainless steel Olympic bar and the knurling is similar to a higher grit sandpaper and I also have a fringe sport Olympic bar that doesn’t feel very good to hold. It’s almost slippery.
I highly suggest the chewy if you’re looking for an aggressive bar that will last a lifetime.

I don't have any Rogue or Rep equipment other than the budget Rep adjustable bench because I'm on a budget. I'm not doing heavy dead lifts or Olympic lifts so I don't need a high end barbell. I paid 80 bucks for a no name barbell and I love it. I bought a Signature Fitness 3x3 power rack and it has Westside spacing and 5/8 holes and it came with safety straps, HDMW lines jcups, and a multi grip pull up bar for 600 bucks. It works with most attachments for 3x3 racks. It came a little scratched up but its solid and beefy and will last a lifetime. I'm adding a Dialed Motion cable system to it and will still be 1000 dollars cheaper than a Rep Athena package. I also got a no name basic trap bar for 60 bucks used on Amazon and I use the help out of it. You don't need the most expensive items to get in shape you just need stuff that works.

Hey man first I wanna say I love your channel. I don’t think people get other stuff besides rep and rogue to be different, it’s because it’s crazy expensive. For example I bought a rack from Marcy fitness for $400 that has a pull-up bar and a plate loaded cable. I bought a barbell from amazon that works great and I’ve had 500lbs on it. I think any adjustable bench will do, you don’t need a $500 one. It’d be cool for you to do a budget episode. I live in a small ADU studio and have everything I need

  • @jlindsay0709

If you are in the Salt Lake County or Utah County area Wasatch Pro Fitness have a lot of stuff cheaper than REP or Rogue. Stuff is comparable to Rogue fitness especially. Don't have to pay for the shipping markup Rogue does on shipping weights too. Guy who owns the shop designs some stuff there. Really impressed with my folding rack I got. Came with a set of bumper plates dumbells and Kettlebells and a very decent barbell. Their hex dumbells are pretty unique and different. Much different shape to them than the traditional ones and I like them a lot. So now I will just buy Rogue apparel because that is only somewhat decent priced stuff they have.
For Example: Post Landmine by Rogue is like 90 bucks I got mine for 30 bucks and it's the same heavy duty metal material that I could use to hammer nails or break a toe if I dropped it on it.

I really liked my Torque Fitness Half Rack. After getting rid of it to get a Rep Rack, I do have to say that the Torque one seemed a lot heavier and more substantial. I'm not sure why, though. I tried to look up what gauge of steel Torque uses and they say they use 11 gauge steel, which is the same as Rep's racks. Rep's uprights just felt light in comparison. It could have to do with the paint on the Torque rack which was almost like a Rhino lining. However, I didn't like their square hole design because that meant it wouldn't fit the world of 1" round hole attachments.

Surprised I don't see anyone talking about Black Widow Training Gear. They're an American company that makes all their products in the US. One thing they offer that's pretty unique is that they will literally make you custom racks, rack attachments, and other parts. Fully custom you give them the measurements and everything.

I am almost done with the main things needed to start working out in garage gym - with a PR5000 with the lat attachment all from Marketplace over the course of a few months for super cheap, ---stupid cheap.

I just wish there was a company that sold or offered a stacked cable attachment that could fit within my Rogue RM4 that is similar to the Rep Athena system. The slinger was somewhat promising but not allowing you to fully adjust the cables on the upright was a total loss for Rogue. I like their FM conversion series but they are pricey and just a little too much for me. This is where I would like to see more companies fully capitalize on an open source system to create products where the OG manufacturer dropped the ball initially.

This review feels kinda half assed you forgot so many brands. What about Get RX or Vulcan Strength? They also have benches that compare and comparable to Rep from the same factory. A lot of points were missed and felt sped along.

I have a REP Adonis and REP open trap bar, love them both along with some other REP equipment. Looking to add another bench, I saw that Body Solid has a bench with a cable attachment and cam underneath so that you can do leg extension/curls with it. Would like something like this to take advantage of the Adonis weight stack, but not really a fan of Body Solid. Are there any other companies doing this yet? Or planning to release something similar??

I don't understand why Vesta isn't being pushed out more. They have a 15% to 20% sale on racks and benches plus an additional 10% off using WELCOME10. Their half rack functional trainer with 200 lb weight stacks is under $2,200 after taxes. If was building from the ground up I'd go with them.

Are there any recommendations on a "full" rack that is a little shorter? I have about 68 inches of clearance in my basement ( Sorry my Garage is a car port, so working out in there is not realistic in the north east :p ). All of the full racks that I've seen are upwards of at minimum 72"+. I have a A frame half rack(?) currently which works, but it doesn't support nearly any standard accessories.

I’m considering the Force USA C10 and Rep Ares 2.0. I like the value with the C10 with everything you get, but my only concern is the 2x2 uprights and how that limits any attachments that could possibly use. Obviously the Ares 2.0 has the 3x3 uprights and the whole ecosystem, but is more expensive and does not have the smith machine integrated (although it sounds like the bells of steel smith machine would work on the area). Anyone have any recommendations on which you think is the better purchase?
