I suppose that your comment not was aimed for me - right ?
However the fact is that many of the single performances actually were dubbed. I don´t really know why, because the actual actors were not that bad in singing. The producer must have had a idea of only the best he could get were good enough. A bit strange to my meaning, as the movie is far from the actual written story of "South Pacific" of Pulitzer Price winner James A Michener. That didn´t seem to bother him much, together with extended use of color filters, which is nowhere to be found in the book except for a short passage in one chapter of the book.
However - I love the movie, much more than the book, and always carry with me parts of the tunes at the back of my neck, letting them in to my inner ear very often.

None of these actors are actually singing. They are lip syncing to other singers. Metropolitan Opera bass Giorgio Tozzi, dubbed the singing for actor Rossano Brazzi. And Bill Lee is really singing for actor John Kerr. 😊
