- First off, sorry it's been 12 months between videos. We have been working on Cape Petrel flat tack the whole time but life has gotten in the way of us editing these clips. This episode is about the 10 days we took off work and sandblasted and spray painted the yacht's external hull. It was an absolute slog but at the end we had 3 coats of paint on the yacht and no more rust! We've got another couple clips in the works to show you the rest of what we've been doing, which is A LOT! Cheers heaps to Gaz, Indie, Dan and Peter for helping us out with this stage - a bunch of other legends have helped out since too, helping us to keep the dream well and truly alive.
Stay tuned,
Track is Peace Blossom Boogie by The Babe Rainbow
The little flaps on the keel are for zinc anodes for use in salt water prevents rust
Zinc anodes are the preferred choice in metal alloys for saltwater applications that need a sacrificial anode, because the alloy is less resistant to the saltwater's electrolytes. The zinc, in essence, stops the oxidation happening to the other metal part as the zinc dissolves
Micro-climate..... love ya work Brodie! haha

hi guys! welcome back , great to see you. does the little stud in between the 2 flaps on the keel have a thread ? or is it a bolt head ? the flaps look like they might be there to protect the bit in the middle ? maybe a drain for keel ? still drinking emu ...
Haha yeh always on the emus. It looks like it does have a thread but its been welded, you could be on the money!
Hey guys. Saw you in a group. I do short segments on new channels. Hit me up if you are interested in telling me more of your story. :)
