    ============================================
    A Tesla P90D With Ludicrous!!! WHAT!! Yep! Tesla gave me a P90DL as a loaner while my Autopilot Radar was getting Re-calibrated. It was a interesting experience. I got to test some more updated features, Including the Next Gen Seats. Which, seem to have been Tweaked a bit from a previous time I had gotten to test the Next Gen Seats.
    I also got to play with the Ultra High Fidelity Sound System, Air Shocks (Which I still don't like), and of course, Ludicrous Mode! Which I found Un-Impressive. Though, I attribute that to 3 years of Model S Driving, de-sensitizing me to the Crazy Nuts acceleration (So don't be hating!, could also have something to do with my choices of vehicles that I have driven or flown over the past 20 years, mopeds all the way to jet aircraft).
    Cheers!

    How big is the jump from your normal sound system to the ultra high fidelity version? I got the ultra high fidelity system but I still feel like i want just a little more clarity at high volumes on certain songs.

    SAAB's last concept car had massive 'turbine' themed rims...they were first to had that design in regards to the jet turbine engine influence...later on to see the aftermarket/custom rims coming out to depict the 'turbine' design...
    Tesla models does look great of having these themed design...

    I feel like I'm 6 years late. I've literally just bought this exact car but in solid white 😁👍 and for the record the turbine wheels are lovely mate not ugly!

      Congratulations on your Tesla Purchase! Will just need to disagree on the wheels ;-) Do a search for the Arachnids. Personally, I stay with 19" wheels as they are CONSIDERABLY less prone to blow-outs, and other damage. As well as I have the very very old AERO Rims on my car, that give me an additional 10-30 miles range per charge.

      @@KmanAuto That's a good point! Mine comes with the turbine wheels so I'm sort of stuck with them and don't fancy forking out for the 19 inch. Other than that I really like the look of them. I'll do my best to look after my P90DL. I'll keep looking for tips and tricks to keep it in good health 😀👍 I just saw the decreased range on the 21 inch wheels wow! I'll bear it in mind for my next Tesla. I do really like the look of them but not sure it's worth a 10% loss in range!!! And higher likelihood of a blowout 😅

      @@TraderJono Tire life as well, 21's usually last around 15,000 miles, I average anywhere from 50,000 to 70,000/set for my 19's . Wait until your tires are a bit more worn, then buy yourself some nice 19's and get new tires. You should be able to sell the 21's for almost enough to cover the cost of the 19's. Plus the 19's are considerably lower cost for the actual tires. I pay around $550 for a set of 19 all seasons installed.

      @@KmanAuto oh wow that's a mammoth difference in lifespan!!! And I like your thinking mate I bet the 21 inch will sell quite easily. Thanks for that I might actually go down that route. More range, last longer and less blowouts make it a really good switch 😃 I'm a Tesla fan before I've even stepped into the car. I'm more excited about getting a Tesla than when I got a Maserati Granturismo!! I'm a tech nerd so it probably made sense to buy one lol 🤓

    @KmanAuto - you mention that the difference between 90D and P90DL is not _that_ much; however, my experience is quite the opposite. Two weeks ago, I test drove a 70D followed by a 90D (technically a P90DL in Sport mode), followed by Ludacris mode. Going into the test drive, my plan was to buy a custom ordered 90D. My impression for the 70D was that it is quick, but it takes ~2.5 seconds to really get going. The 90D has more bite off the line and feels significantly faster. However, the first time I floored the P90D, it was _so much_ faster that it surprised me, and I accidentally blurted a "holy s***" which my Tesla rep understood to mean "this is the car for me". Suddenly I wasn't so sure about my decision to get a 90D. When we got back to the Tesla showroom, we found a P90D (without ludacris) fully optioned for less than the price of my custom ordered 90D. At that point, the decision was a no-brainer and I finalized my order :)

      to each their own, but after three years of driving a Tesla, The difference between a 90d and p90d of any flavor is very little. I suppose the bite of acceleration, I have just become used to after three years. Is it quicker and noticeably quicker yes, is it quick enough to make a huge difference , No. Not by me. Deafly not a $30,000 difference for me. And I like the higher reliability of the small drive units :-). congratulations on your new tesla :-) even if you ordered any show room, don't forget to mention referral codes. They can still apply referral codes even if purchased in the show room. and it's a easy $1000 off. Worst they say is no. ts.la/christopher5460
      this also helps me bring more content to all of you!

    Those brake disks/rotors don't look very big for a performance car, yes I know regen braking, unsprung weight etc. Or is it just the 21" rims that make them look small.
    Apart from the caliper colour do they differ from your 90D?

    • @joeltripp3513
      @joeltripp3513 8 років тому

      The brakes are actually enormous! Appropriate/minor overkill for a car that weighs this much. Using the regen for braking will make these last for a VERY long time

    • @otooleniall
      @otooleniall 8 років тому

      +joel tripp I know the claim about the brakes lasting a long time as I am very familiar with hybrid and electric vehicles with a caveat, you do have to disengage the regeneration brakes every day to get them to last especially after rain; otherwise they will rust.
      For such a heavy car I would expect them to be at least 12" diameter rotors but that was the question. how big are they? as inside that 21" rim they do look small.

    So many Models S and X on the road...will anyone make a proper aero rim to get more miles out of them? I think I'dgo for that rather than a $$$$ bigger battery. Or both. The Ludicrous upgrade indeed seems just that.

    You have to also take into consideration that this one has a much larger motor in the back and even though you have it on range extend that larger motor is still going to take more power Also TURBINE wills or nothing IMO

    It's not faster because it's limited being a loaner. The loaners don't let you accelerate at max power.

    its very hard to choose between a Tesla Model S P90D and a BMW M6 Coupe/gran coupe smfh I want a Tesla Model S p90d because I test it on ludicrous mode with my friends it was unforgettable it was amazing, I felt special in that beast lol but BMW m6 have what the Tesla model s have and that is high quality comfortable leather seats, bang olufsen speakers, and a CD player lmao they should have put it somewhere near the driver seat cause im old school like that lol. other than that, that's it I love the Tesla Model S P90D. Tesla will takeover in 10-15 years from now

    Sure the 90D is around 4.2second acceleration. That's in the good end. But 90D is 90k and P90DL is 110 so both are expensive.
    But it's right that the difference between the two cars is very small. I think Tesla has bloated the prices way too much on Model S. Yet still they don't make money on them. Not ideal.
